Chapter 40: Speed

"Before, when I used the technique to dodge Qing'er punch, I finally understood what it was lackin- wait! Did Qing'er just call me honey? That Qing'er?"

"Sigh... was she some kind of impostor?" Mo Fan jokingly wondered as he started to charge his Qi into his legs and feet to perform the technique from before. "Because there's now way that Qing'er would have ever said something so lovely at me, hehe..."

And just like that, he then pushed with all of his legs and feet's strength against the ground, propelling himself forward. Just half a second later, he had already covered more than fifty fucking meters! He was so fast! He nearly even left an afterimage behind just because of how fast he was in that moment!

"Wow... I'm fast!" Mo Fan was completely amazed. He had expected to be quite faster by using this technique that he himself created, but he didn't expect to be so much faster! His speed had increased by more than four folds! "I'm should be as fast as an average Peak Qi Transforming realm cultivator!"

"Too bad that it uses loads of Qi..." In fact, Mo Fan's Qi had nearly been completely depleted just after running for two mere seconds. After all, every powerful technique had its drawbacks!

And so, Mo Fan quickly cut off the flow of energy in his legs and feet and stopped before exhaurishing all of his Qi. "It's quite the great technique... now, I should just find a name for it like my other personal techniques, the Qi Wave Principle and the Qi Defense Principle..."

"Hmh, since I make my Qi rapidly flow in my legs and feet's acupuncture points, by following a circular path with them as to produce even more additional elettric energy that I don't normally possess, from its rapid ring-shaped movements, into the legs and feet, to further quicken those, I surpass the normal ways of Qi application by far with this, and so I could name this... Qi Ring Principle?"

"Nah, that sounds lame... then, perhaps Qi Energy Principle?"

"It sounds good, but it doesn't really describe well it, since it doesn't produce energy, but elettric energy to make one accelerate in speed... wait! Acceleration? Yes, its new name will be Qi Acceleration Principle! It's perfect!"

"Now the only I have left to do is getting used to rapidly make my Qi flow into the circular path of the technique. If I want to use this in battle, I can't certaintly ask my opponent to wait for me to concentrate on it to use it!"

Mo Fan trained for nearly an entire day, stopping only when he had the Qi flow of the technique perfectly down. He was now able to perfectly perform the Qi Acceleration Principle on the fly! And while he practiced this, he had even noticed something else about this technique.

If he used more of his Qi on it to cover shorter distances, like for example a meter or two, he was so fast that it appeared as if he was using instant teleportation to get there!

Sure, with the little amount of Qi that he had in that moment, using this special feature of the technique cost him more than half of it, but it was still extremely useful! He could dodge even Peak Separation and Reunion experts's attacks! And when he reaches that realm as well, he'll be able to use it a lot more! He'll be untouchable amongst them then!

"Sigh... but that's out of my reach for now. If I want to get there, I'll have to work much much harder!"

"Besides, I still have a lot of work to do, like giving a name to this special feature and integrating its base form, the Qi Acceleration Principle, into my Imperial Dragonic Arts..."

"Starting with a name for it, since it looks like i'm instantly teleporting, I could just name it something like Qi Teleporting Principle or Qi Shifting Principle..."

"Hmh, I like the last one better, so I'll go for it. Qi Shifting Principle welcome!"

And finally given a name to it, Mo Fan let it rest for a moment, as he didn't have enough Qi to use it in battle, and instead worked to integrate the Qi Acceleration Principle with his Imperial Dragonic Arts.

And so, he returned to train, not even taking a rest before. Guess he still hadn't learned the lesson after fainting twice of overwork...

The moon was now at its highest point in the sky, the sky pitch black, the only traces of light being the far stars.

"Pant... pant... yes, I finally did it!" Mo Fan exclaimed in joy, as he moved from a technique of his Imperial Dragonic Arts to anorher at blurring speed. He had successfully integrated the Qi Acceleration Principle with his martial skill! Even if it was greatly slower than just using it individually, he had done it! He had integrated them perfectly!

"Phew..." Mo Fan, tired and full of joy now, finally stopped, all of his muscles being sore, and sat down on the grass, well, to be precise, he layed on it. "It's a bit unfortunate that I can't keep the same effectiveness as using the Qi Acceleration Principle individually, but it can still increase my speed by fifty percent at least... so that's already great..."

"I now have the Qi Wave Principle, the Qi Defense Principle, the Qi Acceleration Principle and its sub technique, the Qi Shifting Principle... I wonder if I could combine all of them to get even stronger...'

"But for now..." Mo Fan closed his eyes. "It's alright..."

And then, he fell asleep on the grass of his courtyard.

Hi, guys, hope that you all got the explanation of the Qi Acceleration Principle. I did the best I could to describe it. Also, I initially thought about the Qi Shifting Principle thinking that it was original, but now that I think about it, it looks a lot like the Body Flicker Jutsu of Naruto or the Soru of One Piece. And tell me if you like the names of Mo Fan's new techniques.
