A lost me

After I realized I couldn't even remember the least information about me, I was sitting in the courtroom face to face with the beautiful woman who happened to be Queen Charlotte and we were peering into each other's eyes. I wasn't even blinking, I could tell she was a powerful woman and so I couldn't understand how she came about being my mother inlaw.

"Your name is Nardin... Ryan before my son married you but now Nardin Eldrago." Queen Charlotte said to me.

"I'm... I'm married to him? A prince?" I asked.

"Yes, and you have always been a princess. Princess Nardin Ryan of Zugato kingdom. You have two sisters though I've only heard of them once then behind your Father's facade he is a ruthless man who has kept his wife at his stupid command anytime...."

"Is that necessary?" Prince Liam asked.

"Of course not." Queen Charlotte responded. "Listen, Nardin, this is the most trying moment of my life so you have to get your memories back. You have to realize who you are, I can't do this by myself and..."

"That's enough mother." Liam said. "Nardin come on, you need to relax your head." Prince Liam said to me and took me into the room.

"Your majesty saying things like that to her is only going to stress her and not help her." Zed said to Queen Charlotte.

"But what could be her problem? Zed, you said this would happen even before it did, is there something else you're not telling me?"

"Relax Charlotte, she'll be fine."

"How? How do I even relax, how is she ever going to be fine? My husband is unburied because the moment he is, the battle for the throne begins."

"He's not unburied Charlotte..."

"Well, the people of Akalon do not know that yet. His name is yet to be engraved on his tomb."

"But you know your son would never be able to make the perfect king for Akalon."

"That is why I married him a wife. Love... Love could... Love could manifest that humanity in him."

"Or destroy him completely, don't forget that. You do know the implications of your actions Charlotte, don't you? You are putting that poor girl's life in danger just to save your son. Does she even know the true story of Liam?"

"She doesn't have to know. I mean I told her something about him but not all were true. You don't expect me to tell her everything do you?"

"I expect you to tell her the most important things that'll keep her safe."

"Enough about my secrets. What is wrong with her?" Charlotte asked.

"I think whoever had her before Rhal abducted her must have injected magical amnesia syrup in her system and I have no idea of a cure without knowing the syrup used." Zed responded with a very worried look. "Now the question is who would want to do that to her and why."

In the room, I was sitting some meters away from Liam.

"What was she talking about? I mean your mother, the queen." I asked Liam. I was gradually getting comfortable with talking to him and hoping to accept him as my husband.

"It's nothing, ignore it." He responded.

I nodded, stared at him for a moment before I spoke. "You really are my husband?"

"Mmhmm." He responded.

"How long have we been married for?"

"Months."

"Have we been... Have we had..." I knew what I wanted to ask but I didn't know the best way to say it. "Have we been intimate... Physically?" I finally found the right words.

"What do you think?"

"Nothing."

"Exactly." Liam responded.

"Right. Can you please give me a little time to come to terms with that? I... I already have a lot of things going on in my life right now."

"We've got time wife." Liam responded. I must say I was surprised by his gentle response but if I truly am his wife then we've got more time.

It wasn't long before sundown. I had my bath after a maid helped get my bathing water and scented oil ready. When I came out to the room, I saw Liam sitting down on the bed but he backed me. My white towel was hanging dangerously on my chest covering my naked body as I admired the handsome man who luckily for me happened to be my husband. I don't know why but I wasn't suddenly starting to get drawn to him or was it to his alluring appearance, oh lights he had to be the most handsome man in the land or even created by the goddess of beauty herself if she ever existed and I couldn't help but wonder if we've done it and if not, why, I mean he's supposed to be my husband. If we have, how was it being in his arms." From imagining how it must have gone down with him I had an erotic sensation running through my body.

"I'm ready." I said out loud to Liam who turned in surprise.

"Ready for what?" He asked.

"For you." I responded and let my towel fall off my body.

There I was standing naked before Liam and my entire body hankered for him. Liam smirked and slowly approached me then gently planted a kiss on my forehead, pulled me in for a hug before he bent over, picked up my towel, and covered my naked body.

"No, you're not. Your body shivers in fear." He said to me.

I wanted to scream and tell him my body was shivering in desire but I couldn't because I could also hear my heart pounding.

"Don't worry wife, I can wait." He said then kissed me on the lips and handed over my nightgown to me before he went off to bed.

'Did he just say no to me?' I wondered. 'Gosh, this is embarrassing.'

I put on my clothes and stood by the window side and saw a lady standing there, smiling and waving at me. I was curious to know who she was so I quietly sneaked down to meet her.

"Who are you?" I asked her when I finally approached her.

"You really did lose your memory sister. My name is Maya Ryan." The lady said.
