As General Elias finished talking, silence occupied the area for a while. Avilina appeared to be thinking of something while the expression on the Prince's face was unreadable. However...
"Move, Elias," Avilina demanded in a deadly low voice. "I said that I will take care of the consequences."
"Please, milady -"
The General's plea fell on deaf ears as Avilina hardened her heart. "If you say a word again, I'll make sure that you pay for it."
Nicien knew his sister too well to not know that it wasn't an empty threat. As such, he promptly intervened when Elias tried to open his mouth again.
"Leave us, Elias. I will handle this."
General Elias Gylaw shifted his gaze to the Prince and he was ready to protest but... when he saw the Prince slowly shaking his head, he thought twice and decided to trust in him. Then he rose to his feet and bowed before he walked away.
