He released Lilian and straightened his suit, his teeth clenched in anger.
"Is this about Lenora?" Lilian asked, aware that he had been summoned by his father. What could he do?
"Yeah. My father is upset at me over some false report he heard. I hate that my parents can't see that I'm an adult now, not the little boy they raised," Allen vented.
"Parents often struggle to accept that their children are grown and capable of making their own choices. But I don't want to jeopardize the long-standing business relationship between your family and the Kleins. I could step back from your life and just visit our daughter occasionally. It's not necessary to be involved with your parents," Lilian suggested.
Allen hissed, clearly irritated by her words.
"If you have nothing constructive to say, just be quiet. Don't confuse me further," he warned.
