Ever since the young man called the person he trusted-his own secretary, where he instructed him to find the person he wanted to find, the young man intended to rest his body.
Until...
"Dad."
A faint voice was heard in the room not far from where the young man was standing.
The young man who heard the voice immediately stepped towards the source of the voice.
The source of the voice in question was none other than Key's small mouth that was still faithfully closing its eyes.
Without hesitation, the young man drew closer to Key.
'What's wrong with this girl, why does she seem restless in her sleep?' murmured the young man when he saw Key who was covered in sweat on her forehead.
The young man gently rubbed Key's forehead, and was immediately rewarded with a smile in Key's sleep.
'It seems like this girl is lonely,' the young man thought to himself.
Not long after, the young man's mobile phone vibrated.
Reflexively, the young man's fingers opened the touch screen of his mobile phone, while reading the name printed on the screen.
A light sigh was faintly heard before the young man picked up his phone.
"Hello"
"Where are you? I heard you took your holiday?"
"Yes, I took my time off Dad."
"Why now Van? You know you still have a lot of work to take care of."
"I've finished a big project Dad, and now I choose to take my time off in the middle of my activities."
"It's up to you, where are you going on holiday?"
"Sorry Dad, I want to take it all in peace."
"Ervan Galen!"
Hearing his father yell at him, Ervan unconsciously disconnected the phone.
"Sorry Dad," Ervan whispered.
Key, who had been asleep, was finally disturbed by Ervan's chatter on the phone. Key blinked her eyes a few times.
"Uncle," Key said when she saw Ervan sitting on the edge of the sofa facing her.
"Ah, you had a bad dream?" Ervan asked back, covering the awkwardness between the two.
Key sat up and nodded her head slowly with a sad look.
"I remember my dad."
Key couldn't continue, her tongue was tongue-tied and the bad images were eating away at her mind.
"A..-ahhh daddy.... sob," Key moaned while holding her head in frustration.
"Hey, calm down girl, you don't have to tell me if you can't tell me," Ervan said in confusion.
Without warning Ervan embraced Key into his arms to calm Key who could be said to be not in good condition.
"Hey, don't remember it if it makes you sick," said Ervan while gently rubbing Key's back and hair.
Key nodded her head in Ervan's embrace.
Slowly Key's mouth opened and thanked Ervan.
'Hah~~ what a pity for this girl.'
***
Ervan had woken up this morning and prepared breakfast for Key and himself.
Yes, Key ended up staying at his place, of course after some consideration Ervan finally decided to have Key stay at his place for the girl's safety.
"Morning uncle," Key said while rubbing her eyes to greet Ervan.
Ervan who saw Key's greeting immediately told her to immediately sit on the empty bench in the dining room to have breakfast together because Ervan had prepared breakfast for him and Key.
Key sweetly thanked Ervan while seating herself.
"Ah, I wonder if my face already looks old in your eyes?" Ervan asked.
Key reflexively scratched the back of her neck without itching.
"How old is uncle?" Key squeaked softly.
"Hah~~ just eat first."
Ervan was not in the mood when it came to his honest age.
Key awkwardly ate the breakfast that Ervan had prepared for her.
A soft chuckle with a sincere smile was seen when Key suddenly thanked Ervan for preparing such a delicious meal for her.
'Sweet, Ugh, what's wrong with you.' Ervan's monologue in his mind.
Ervan's mobile phone vibrated indicating an incoming message on his phone.
Ervan glanced at the name on his phone for a moment, and put his phone back on the dining table.
"You live alone here?"
The question suddenly came out of Ervan's mouth, while the two were still eating their breakfast.
Key who was asked naturally answered with a slow nod of her head.
"Your parents?"
Key stopped eating.
As if stifled, Key tried to answer Ervan's question by saying that both her parents were gone, so she lived alone.
'What a pity for this girl.'
Key, who was no less curious about Ervan, finally also threw a question to Ervan, which was none other than she asked about who Ervan was and why Ervan could realise that there were bad people who were targeting her and did not forget Key said that she thought Ervan was a good person, as evidenced by her being allowed to stay there.
"Mmm, I'm just a businessman taking a holiday," Ervan said casually.
Key furrowed her brows still full of confusion.
She didn't understand what Ervan meant by his previous answer which was only limited to saying that he was a businessman taking a holiday, didn't Ervan's answer not answer all of Key's questions completely?
Key who was still confused finally chose not to bother, she did not continue to ask a question back to Ervan, which she thought Ervan was also reluctant to explain further to her.
"Key I have a little work. I'm going to my room, you can finish your breakfast first, and tidy up. I'll leave first," Ervan said, leaving Key alone at the dining table.
Key nodded her head slowly to Ervan in response, and she continued eating again quietly without any fear of being left behind by Ervan, after all Ervan had already said where he would leave her.
.
.
Ervan had been busy checking one by one the documents that had just been emailed by his secretary regarding Key's background.
"Ah, I didn't expect this world to be so cramped, poor kid, I guess I should take care of her," Ervan said as he looked at all the profiles he had just received.
Ervan tapped his fingers on the table in front of him.
'Who is the mastermind chasing her?' Ervan monologued in his mind.
Ervan racked his brain for a moment trying to surmise who he could suspect.
Afterwards, he sent a text message back to someone he trusted.
'I suspect that the person chasing her is the same as the one who targeted Key's parents in the past.' Ervan monologued in his mind while massaging his forehead.
