Don't betray me

'she seems to like reading alot' he thought

'she didn't even sense my presence, so cute ' he chuckled inwardly and was about to approach her when he noticed a part of a golden book in the middle of other books. He picked it up and ran his hands all over the cover, he felt a strange connection to the dragon encrypted on it.

"Oh husband, you're here" Elaine suddenly called pulling him out of his thoughts

"Yeah" he replied with a cute smile and dropped the book

"My wife seems to love reading books huh?"

"Um, am Soo sorry about that. I had my head buried in the book Soo much that I didn't even realize when you walked in" she apologized with the most cutest eyes

"You look so cute" Alexander suddenly said and pinched her cheeks which made her squint her eyes for a while

"Well I guess I should leave you" he was about to go when she stood up from the bed and stopped him

"Huh?!"

"Well, I noticed you're not busy today and thought maybe we should spend more time together for the rest of the day" she stuttered her words out

"Okay" he agreed immediately and she felt confused for a few seconds but just decided to go with it. She actually has an inner motive, she wanted no needed to know more, she still had dozens of unanswered questions

"So, you have me for the rest of the day, just don't forget about the ball being held in our honour" he reminded her. At that moment she felt like palming herself, she totally forgot about that. Alexander chuckled at her cute behavior and grabbed her hand, pushing her down to sit on his laps. She felt so caught off guard, it all happened so fast and before her brain could process it she was now sitting on his lap and caged by his hands which wrapped her waist firmly

"U-uh husband" she stuttered

"Shhhh" he whispered and the sound of his voice made the hair on her shoulders rise, she had started to wish she didn't change her clothing, but she had to because after practicing with Alexander she was so sweaty but now she regretted putting on an off shoulder simple gown

"Let's just stay like this for a while okay" he whispered into her ear like a little devil

"You can ask about everything you want to, okay" he said and she nodded

"I want to k-now w-why your family treats you badly" she asked trying to speak straight but ended up stuttering

"Because they are not my family" he answered immediately

"How?"

"Because they don't accept me as family"

"Why?"

"Because their my step siblings. Next question" he kept answering her questions without holding back

"What are your plans for me?" She asked reluctantly

"I planned to marry you and make you my wife, then I'd consummate our marriage only when you consent to it, I don't force people into things but with what happened last night..." He drawled

"Am not sure I can keep my word on not touching you" she felt flabbergasted by his sudden confession. 'So that's why he didn't do the deed on our wedding nightm he knew I didn't want to ' she thought feeling a sudden warmt envelope her at the thought of how unique and sweet this man really is

"Then what happens if I let you to touch me" she said whispering shyly

"Then I make you completely mine. But until that day comes, I'll make sure you have whatever you want, I'll give you protection, love, care and support, but...." He drawled

"Don't betray me" he said, he's voice with so much warning that she felt shivers.

"What?"

"I've always been betrayed by the people I care about and I don't forgive easily. If you betray me, then I won't have mercy" he concluded. He's words kept ringing into her ears, tormenting her like an echo in her brain.

"So, any other questions" he asked calmly and she just shook her head negatively

"Dats good" he said placing his palm on her cheek

"Well I guess I should get going, you still need to prepare for the ball tonight and the sun is finally going to sleep" he said looking out the window

"Yeah, the day flew by so fast" she said faintly in a tired tone before getting off him. Alexander let his eyes wander back to the golden book on the table

"Where'd you get this book?" He asked

"From the Royal library" she replied and picked it up

"It's a strange book and has a lock on it, but I didn't see the keys" she replied with creased brows

"Did you check for it"

"Not really" she replied calmly

"Well, I'll figure it out later, for now just keep it safe okay" he said looking at the dragon in the book with something unfanthomable flickering in his eyes

"I will" she said and he finally stood up and left her.
