Chapter -21 : Gift

"Then Alrayd, what are you going to do after leaving her here? Why don't you leave her in the care of her parents?" Lamina couldn't help but ask this question.

"I am going to battlefield of god's with my wife. As for why I am leaving here, it's because my son is unreliable. You also know, how careless her parents are. They can't take care of her properly. All this time, they really are willful and have no sense of responsibility. I believe that leaving Saphira in your care will be more good. If her parents wants to meet her, they will give you a visit." Alrayd told his situation without hiding it. He was angry that his own son was not a reliable if they want to raise their Saphira in good environment he has to make this decision.

"What, you are going to battlefield of god's?? Have you really decided on this?" Leon asked in shocked voice. He knew what was battlefield of God and how dangerous it could be to go there, he didn't want his friend to risk his life in vain.

"Sigh! Yeah we really decided. After so much time has passed, I have wandered around this whole continent more than a number of times. Like you human's who wants to earn money for happiness, and just keeping working hard for the short term of happiness you get when you earns, we dragons also want freedom and a place to roam around without being restricted." Alrayd said solemnly to Leon.

It's true that human works for happiness which they get after getting money. They work and work, after that when they see their own life getting dull, they search happiness in drinking which gives them happiness until they wake up again and after they don't get happiness then they go on trip but eventually they will again fall in the cycle of running for jobs and earning for Happiness which they never gets.

Alrayd was right, he lived so long, naturally life will become boring. How many times can a person repeat same thing. He has already made trip around the continent and now there is nothing that he hasn't seen. Now what left for him is just waking up and sleeping, rather than doing such a boring work and wait until eventually you die, he chose to go outside with his wife in search of new things.

"Since you have decided, than I won't stop you and also if Saphira doesn't object it, she can live here with peace of mind. Some people wants long life and some see it as suffering. Different people have different opinions. But what you said is what I also thought of, doing same thing everytime is boring. If you don't have new things than what's the point of life?.." Lamina had a sad expression on her face.

"What are you all sad about, Grandpa Alrayd, you visited here, I thought that you wanted to see me but...sigh!" Ryan couldn't take the sadness and depressed atmosphere so he decided to lighten the mood. If they got something, they can decide after he has left the hall.. Ryan can just ask what happened here later but to let him experience depressed atmosphere, Ryan really didn't want it.

"Of course I came to see you. Didn't I let them call you here because I wanted to meet you." Alrayd put his expression aside, although he was down because he has to leave his children, he was also anticipating new world that awaited his arrival.

"Really.. then where is my gift?? You didn't come empty handed right?" Ryan heard that Alrayd was a dragon and from what he knows, dragons has habit of collecting treasures, he couldn't help but ask. Since this dragon offered himself to get robbed then he is welcome. Such a good one in a million chance how could he not take advantage of this.

With a sly smile on his face, Ryan looked into Alrayd's eyes.

At this moment, Alrayd alredy knew that he dug a pit for himself. And now he can only lose these time. With a reluctant face Alrayd looked at Leon and Lamina who were watching this from sidelines and then towards his own grand daughter, who seems to obvious about everything but turned blind eyes as if to show her dissatisfaction to leave her.

Finally, with bleeding heart, Alrayd used his magic ring then took out a blue sword which looked like, it was made of glass. This sword body was extremely sharp. "This is a sword which I once got when I was roaming around an ancient runes. This sword will get stronger the more you use it while supplying it with magic power. This can cut anything till date, whenever I have used it."

Ryan had to admit that he was attracted to this sword. He knew that knowing that he was son of Leon who was well known for some activities, Alrayd will definitely have to come up with a good thing.

On the side, Leon was also shocked. With his experience, he can tell that this sword was extraordinary. He can tell that the material used to make this sword was the first time he saw.

In other words, this sword must be something from extraordinary origin. Now he was thankful that he taught some of his skills to Ryan, so that he got this chance. Wait no he didn't teach Ryan anything.

At the very least, it's certain that these time, he has earned too much.

"This sword, I gave you is gift but also take it as compensation for raising my granddaughter in your family." Alrayd looked at Saphira and said with tender expression.

Taking the sword from Alrayd's hands, Ryan took the blade from its sheath and ran his hand over its blade at the blunt side. He could feel sharpness just by touching it. It looked like the blade was made of a glass.

"Thankyou, grandpa Alrayd." These time he was really not stinky and said from bottom of his heart. From these gift it can be seen that, he really loved his granddaughter.

"It's nothing much." Alrayd replied with a faint smile..

"I didn't leave you behind, you were taking a nap outside, how can I wake you up." At this time Luna came and jumped at his head while angrily patting his face.
