15. Zombie & Undead(2)

Skeleton Necromancer.

Grias Benoria.

He was someone who had lived even before the Zombie plague swept through this world.

Before the Zombie outbreak struck, the main contributors to the Undead population in this world were them - the Necromancers.

They are the enemies of the whole world. Hate in all corners of the world as a blasphemer of dead souls.

However, even so, Necromancer never managed to be completely destroyed.

There are always people who fall into this path of darkness. Either because of their selfish desires, or simply because they are forced to do it for some reason.

Grias Benoria was a noble son in the past.

He is not someone who can easily fall into the path of darkness.

However, in order to revive his love, he tries various things. And that various things, of course, including becoming a Necromancer.

Unfortunately, even if he already do that much, death is still unresistible.

He was left to become a Necromancer, a figure hated by the world, in vain.

He lived in hiding until one day, something strange happened to the world.

A dark shadow enveloped the sun.

All over the world, a handful of people living suffer from a strange disease that makes them very weak and pale.

The first Zombie Outbreak.

The humans who turned into Zombies on that sunless day had the ability to infect others.

Quickly, city after city was reduced to a dead city inhabited by Zombies everywhere.

After getting out of his hiding place, Grias begins to investigate about what has actually happened along with the other Necromancers.

And, he discovered an extremely terrifying truth.

Whoever caused all of this, it was a powerful figure. It is so powerful that it becomes very unimaginable.

Moreover, the culprit was one person, which made the situation even more horrible.

With the millions - even billions of Zombies this figure controls - Grias and the other Necromancers suspect that it won't be long before the actual great war will finally break out.

'It seems like the time has come.'

Looking at Zen's figure, Grias began to consider whether he would side with Humans or Zombies.

Gray smoke enveloped his entire body as his silhouette began to blur.

However, at that moment, flames burst out from Zen's body.

[Burn Up!]

Zen quickly reversed his body.

The skeleton warrior's greatsword that Grias summoned was unable to hit Zen when Zen approached and dropped a fist into the skeleton warrior's chest.

Powerful fire energy exploded.

The skeleton warrior had been reduced to a pile of worthless bones.

Grias hadn't even had time to react when the barrier created using light elemental magic that was very effective in purifying every type of Undead trapped him.

"What-"

Grias was stunned.

'What happened? He suddenly moved faster. Besides, who is using light elemental magic?'

Grias looked around, but he could only find Zen smiling at him.

"You intend to escape?" Zen asked.

"No way. I haven't finished listening to your story."

Grias was surprised. He didn't expect the skeleton warrior he summoned to be defeated so easily.

In fact, it should have been the skeleton warrior could match a level 3 warrior.

The blue flames within the skeleton Necromancer's skull cavity flared up.

He laughed.

"Kekekek..."

The Skeleton Necromancer looked at Zen.

"Fire magic? No... Something feels different inside your fire... Hmm, interesting... Very interesting, Zombie..."

At that moment, gray smoke had enveloped the entire body of the Skeleton Necromancer.

A moment later, the smoke faded without a trace.

Within Zen's magic energy radar, even the trace of the Skeleton Necromancer's presence was gone.

Zen was speechless at what he see.

He had guessed that a barrier made of light magic would be able to block the Skeleton Necromancer's escape attempt, but it turned out that was not true.

'Could it be... Teleportation magic?'

Since this world was a fantasy world of magic and swords, Zen thought that maybe teleportation magic existed, but he didn't expect that an opponent weaker than his current was even capable of doing so.

'Magic is really practical, isn't it... I'll have to look into it later.'

Zen remembered what elemental magic he had mastered during his time helping the Red Trickerss to gather resources.

After the initial experiment, Zen discovered that he had a talent in wind, earth, and light magic for now.

'For now' because Zen doesn't have any other elemental magic books yet such as dark magic and so on.

He had a fire and water magic book, but he didn't have any talent within him.

Zen pondered the teleportation magic as he stared intently at the spot where the Skeleton Necromancer had previously stood.

Since Zen magic energy had long filled the surroundings, he could feel the slightest change that occurred there.

He saw that the 'space' where the Necromancer's skeleton had previously stood was now slightly distorted like a puddle of water dropped by a rock.

Zen continued to observe the process of repairing the space until Jonna and the others managed to defeat the two weaker skeleton warriors than one that Zen had destroyed coming.

The sword and shield user within team number 2, a large muscular man with a bulging belly, Igav, looked around the silent room.

"What kind of place is this?"

Zen turned around and answered Igav's muttering.

"Just now, a Necromancer was here. So, I guess this is one of a kind of hiding places... Or, this is just an abandoned hut, and coincidentally, the Necromancer found it and used it."

The faces of Jonna and the others became tense after hearing Zen's words.

"Necromancer!"

"What are Necromancers doing in a place like this?"

Although the existence of Necromancers has now been overshadowed by the rampant Zombies in many places, they were once known as perverted creatures; traitors of Humanity.

Even if Jonna and the others had never seen the Necromancer in person, they had heard of the Necromancer from various fairy tales and stories often told by Poets.

They didn't expect that they had just defeated one of the Necromancer's subordinates.

Seeing them fall silent, Zen turned his gaze towards the various types of plants hanging from the ceiling, drawers, and various jars containing various strange things.

"Alright, let's gather some things in this place. I'm sure we'll gain a lot."

Under Zen's leadership, they began to gather resources once again.

***

-In a mountain range called the Ventalr mountains.

Here, a long canyon that looks like it splits the planet itself can be found stretching from the entrance of the mountains to the border of what was once known as the kingdom of Fhoswald.

In the depths of the moss-covered black rock canyon, there is a row of underground waterfalls more than 800 meters long.

Unbeknownst to the eyes of the world, behind this gigantic waterfall, a unique small village inhabited by various types of Undead monsters other than Zombies had been built in this place.

Grias Benoria, the Skeleton Necromancer, reappeared on top of the magic circle that was built right in the middle of the village.

Grias sees this unique village built using stone and wood.

With the stone roof hopelessly getting the light of the sun, only the flames of torches and magic tools were able to illuminate the village.

Grias sighed.

"Choice..."

He muttered, wondering to himself. As if expecting an answer.

"What choice should I make?"
