Zero-Point Energy is the energy that exists within the quantum realm. The quantum realm is only a theory with current technology, but if he can control his universe to the tiniest sub-atomic particles, then it will be possible to harness the energy from a vacuum.
But this is impossible in the outer-world. The universe is made up of 68% of dark energy, 27% of dark matter, and 5% of other matters and energy. Dark Energy is the reason for the expansion of the universe at an accelerating rate, but as a cultivator consumes that dark energy, the amount of dark energy slowly decreases.
This means, the universe can't be expanded at the rate it used to, and the amount of dark energy will also decrease. Slowly, but surely that will be the demise of our universe. So whenever a new solar system opened up the time and space barrier, it will be constantly raided by other races, known as the demon race.
