Chasing

"Why don't we going out?" Noah said cheerfully.

Both of them had just arrived at Lucas's office when Noah suddenly brought up the surprising question. Noah can't see Lucas' expression since he is back facing him despite that Noah can tell Lucas' back just flinched a moment ago. 

Does this feel too sudden for him? Or does he already have a lover? Even so I have to make sure he is always by my side if I have to protect him, since his brother told me to keep it a secret about the deal. So I need to make this work. Noah thought to himself.

Noah moved forward to look at Lucas however he turned his body to another side avoiding Noah. Noah frowned. He then turns to another side where Lucas is facing but he turns to another side avoiding again. Both of them repeatedly turn and avoid a while until Lucas suddenly stretches out his arm pointing at a door inside his office. "You can fix your shirt in the wardrobe." He said with a trembling voice without looking at Noah.

Noah looked at his back disapprovingly yet still walked to the door. Holding at the doorknob Noah turns back to look at Lucas. "I'll be back immediately. Let's talk." Noah opened the door and went inside. 

After the door closes, Lucas quickly adjusts his breath with a red face. Turns out he is holding his breath all this time while Noah is talking to him. He holds his chest to calm his heartbeat while looking at the wardrobe door. Without further ado Lucas quickly walks to the door and flees from his office. 

"What the hell did he say just now? Too many things have happened lately and my mind is still a mess to think about right now." Lucas took out his phone and walked frantically through the hallway. "Get the car. I'm done for today." At the same time he is talking to his driver, he hears someone calling his name from afar. He slowly turns back and sees Noah walking toward him. Lucas is shocked by his presence and inadvertently starts running toward the elevator. "Shit! Why is he so fast?"

The moment Noah sees Lucas running away he immediately chases after him. "Why are you running away? We need to talk." Noah screams at Lucas.

Lucas managed to reach the elevator, pushing the down button with his index finger aggressively until the door slid open and ran inside. Lucas has never been so scared of someone until today when he sees Noah running toward him like some crazy stalker. "Don't come! I need to be alone right now!" Lucas yells at Noah and immediately pushes the close button.

Rather than stopping, Noah increased his speed and jumped down letting his body slide along the floor until he reached through the door elevator steadily before it closed. 

The thought of relief immediately disappears from Lucas' mind when he sees Noah manage to get inside the elevator. He looked at Noah with unbelievable eyes whereas Noah looked very happy with his accomplishment. Lucas steps back until his back hits the wall while trying to press the open button but the elevator is already going down. 

"I told you, am I? To wait for me." said Noah while slowly raising his body from the ground. 

Lucas is dripping with sweat seeing Noah's reaction even so he braves himself and yells back. "I told you not to come! I need to be alone, don't I?"

Suddenly a sound of a bell coming from the door indicates that the elevator doors will open immediately. Lucas sees this as a chance to escape so he moves forward to the door. However Noah has figured out his intention, he jumps directly toward Lucas' back and encircles his waist with his thighs totally locking him. 

"AH!"What is wrong with you today?? You are so unreasonable! Let go of me right now!" Lucas yells at Noah while trying to free himself from Noah.

"You can't go. You have to stay with me for now!" Noah insisted.

Both of them are yelling at each other when the elevator door opens.

 A young man in a suit walks in. That man stood in front of the button searching for his floor number and after he pushed the button, he backed away. He is standing nonchalantly while holding the elevator handle waiting for his floor until he sees two people are entangled with each other. Lucas and Noah's body size difference make it seem like he is carrying a backpack, only with a bigger bag.

"Good afternoon," said Noah. He smiles at that man while Lucas can't even show his face, he lets out a long sigh, looks down at the floor hoping he can disappear immediately. 

"Good.. Good afternoon." That man replied shyly.

The three of them fell silent immediately after that short interaction. That man would never have thought that riding an elevator at a well known company would be this off-beat. As a newcomer he can't help but feel optimistic. This is probably the difference! Big company effect! Starting tomorrow he will probably experience a more extraordinary sight so he can't aghast from just a situation like this. He thought to himself.

"YES!" that young man suddenly shouted out loud, scaring both Noah and Lucas.

Ding! The elevator door slid open.

The young man walked out and turned back to look at both of them sincerely. "Thank you!" 

Noah lifted his eyebrow in surprise. However before he could say anything, Lucas had pressed the close button. "I think he is misunderstanding something." Lucas said in annoyed.

"Well, probably he just realized that if things don't go your way, you just need to keep hanging onto it.." Noah chuckled. 

Lucas rolled his eyes in anger. "Just like what you did to me right now? Unbelievable!"

"I won't do this if you don't run away."

Finally the elevator door opens at the basement floor. "Get down," he ordered.

"I refused. You will definitely run away again." Noah tightens his grip around Lucas' shoulder. "Let's continue our conversation in the car."

Lucas turned red again when he remembered what Noah said to him at his office which made him try to escape from him. Lucas walked out from the elevator carrying Noah on his back. "I won't escape again." he said with a low voice.

"Are you sure?" Noah doubted.

Lucas is getting irritated again so he just walks off while still carrying Noah on his back. "Never mind."

"Hold on!" Noah prevented Lucas from taking another step from where they are standing right now. He looks around and finds their surroundings are odd. The basement is too quiet, not a single engine sound could be heard. "Where is your driver? Try calling him."

"What? I just called him five minutes ago. Should be here any minute." Lucas took out his phone and made a call.

While waiting for the call, Noah hears a number of footsteps coming from their left. He can as well hear a familiar sound coming along with those footsteps. A click that shows a safety being released from a gun.

Noah releases his thigh as well as his grip from the shoulder. Lucas turned back to look at Noah while still on his phone yet the next thing he saw was pitch black.
