Chapter 28
Adele was taken aback by her declaration ,Myra never expressed brief about her parents death at least not so openly and deeply. Adele had thought Myra had come to live with the truth but only now she got to know she was also suffering.
One thing was sure ,everyone carried their share of burden while some made it seem effortless others made it tedious .
"What about you Adele ,do you wish you find them one day .I bet you will have hell lot of questions ,mostly angry at them for abounding you even though they may have their reasons ," Myra asked.
"Never goes a day when I don't think about them, I don't know what reasons they had that they are quite ruthless to never look back ,"Adele bitterly laughed.
"You are so good Adele ,I really pray you unite with them one day ,"Myra stated.
Adele gave a small smile before looking at the window outside and hoping to find solace in the quite night.
A week has passed ,her routine was as usual but one notable thing was she was given a more prominent role in the drama .After few practice sessions surprisingly she improved a lot .Seeing this the drama teacher wrote a character for her which enjoyed portraying .
She was slowly getting close to Hudson and Zoey's group ,they only started including her .She was making progress in her projects which had an possibility of her getting a excellent internship very soon.If she got the internship then she will be able to quit the job at the bookstore .
Even though she enjoyed working in the bookstore the pay was very minimal and at last she should prioritize the money as it gave her a better life.
She was arranging the books in the bookstore when she heard footsteps as she turned around she found none other than Dante.
At this point she had gotten used to him disappearing for days without a text or a call then coming in front of her unexpectedly.
"Dante ,you here ,"Adele asked.
"How long till you can leave ,"Dante asked .
"One more hour ,you can sit at the table I will get some books ,"Adele stated for which he nodded his head.
She was not sure what he liked to read so she picked a business magazine and a nonfiction book.
"Here take it ,"Adele passed the books and as their hands touched she felt a electrifying feeling.
She remembered that night events and her face turned red .She thought did he remember the same and got tormented just like her .
"Do you need some coffee ,"Adele quickly took back her hand.
"No,I am good ," Dante refused. At the same time Remi came there and seeing Dante's overpowering presence he shivered and tried to hide behind Adele.
"Remi ,do you need anything ,"Adele turned toward him.
"Yes ,I can't reach the book at the top shelf ,"he replied.
"Let me get it to you ,"she stated.
"Will Hudson come today ,"Remi asked with anticipation. As soon as Dante heard a male's name he became alert.
"Don't think so ,"Adele replied.
Hudson has been a frequent visitor to the bookstore nowadays ,mostly importantly he came to spend time with Adele.
He surely was very annoying and disturbed her while working .When she argued with him he liked attention so Adele understood this and ignored him.
Hudson and Remi have formed a kind of close bond and they were a fun duo.
"Oh no, he promised to take me out for ice cream,he told you could also join ,"Remi was disappointed.
"He is your friend right can you tell him to come tomorrow ,"Remi's sweetly requested.
"Let me see ,"Adele consoled and obviously she was not going to talk to Hudson about this as he was busy with other things .
Adele gave the book to Remi and after hearing him talk some more she went back to work.
She had not noticed but Dante had silently followed her ,as she collided with his hard chest she hit her forehead .
"Ouch ,why don't you make any noise ,"Adele frowned.
"Does it hurt ,"Dante touched her forehead . Due to the close proximity she could smell his musky ,woody perfume.
"I'm fine ,"she took a step back as she couldn't trust herself being so near to him.
"Does he come here frequently ,"Dante questioned.
"Who ,"Adele noticed his concern expression changed into a murderous one.
"You know who ,"Dante gritted his teeth in annoyance.
"No ,I don't ,"Adele was truly clueless.
"Hudson ,"Dante stated his name with so much venom.
"Ya ,whenever he is free ,"Adele casually replied.
"Is he your boyfriend ,"Dante growled.
"No ,I have already mentioned he is a college friend ,"Adele was taken aback by his harshness.
"You mean to say he comes here to read books and not see you,"Dante scoffed.
"He comes to hang out with me but just as a friend .Also he likes spending time with Remi ,"Adele justified.
"Are you not understanding his hidden intentions ,"Dante mocked her for her innocence .
"Then I should also be wary of you ,"Adele was pissed at his behavior.
"What did I do,"Dante raised his brow.
"That day in the rain we ..,"Adele trailed off too embarrassed to say any further .
"Tell me , what did we..,"Dante smirked. Adele couldn't believe he was being so shameless.
"Did your wife know what you are doing ,"Adele asked. For some reason this was bugging her from past few days .
"When I have one I will let her know ,"Dante chuckled.
"What about your girlfriend or a partner ,"Adele asked in an irritated tone.
"Just ask directly, whether I am single or not ,"Dante smugly said . Adele rolled her eyes seeing how he diverted the topic so easily.
"What about kids then,"Adele asked.
"Adele ,I don't know what gave you that impression .I am very much single and don't have any kids .I always responsibility of my actions ,"Dante sighed.
