Chapter 15

Jasmine's POV

5...4....3....2....1....HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Everyone around me shrieks as we exchange hugs filled with love and kisses.

"Oh my God, I totally made it" Tobias screams enthusiastically from beside me. I just roll my eyes at him as I greet and hug random pack members. We exchange happy New Years as we walk around in the crowded hall.

Well what do you know we made it to the new year as a pack may I add. I'm not going to lie, sometimes I felt like I would sleep and would not wake up the next day because some random people will ambush the pack and kill all of us.

Even though I had that thought almost every time I went to bed I still woke up to my normal life I couldn't be more grateful to the Moon Goddess for sparing our lives each day.

Winter dance was fine by the way, it was a memorable night, me and Tobias danced then we went on to our main goal for that night.

We pranked unsuspecting couples that night. While everybody else was dancing and making out we pulled pranks on others that were unsuspecting.

*****Flashback to winter dance*****

"We should totally put a banana peel on the floor" Tobias suggested.

"Why?" I asked confused.

"So that someone can slip on it duh!" he says to convince me.

"That might just be good" I muse rubbing my chin.

"We're going to angle it to the snack table, so the person slips and crashes into the table" he says as excited as a child with candy. We high five each other as we start our plan.

"Wait, where are we going to get a banana peel?" I ask him.

"Gimme a minute" is all he says as he dashes out of our make shift ball room.

A minute later he's standing right by my side with a half-eaten banana, the rest of the banana in his mouth.

"You want some?"

"I'm good."

Seconds later he holds out the banana peel and he goes ahead to set it metres away from the snack table. He comes back to me as we share an evil smirk on our faces, him rubbing his hands in anticipation.

The next few minutes people walk over the peel, some noticing it, others just walking over it. We wait patiently for a few more minutes until I'm convinced that no one is going to slip on the banana peel.

"Let's go" I say attempting to pull him by his arm.

"Just one more minute someone is bound to fall" he says his eyes still glued to the scene of our prank.

I hear a shriek as I turn my head to the sound to find a lanky guy sliding across the floor with the help of the banana peel. Everyone just watches as crashes into the table, the glass bowls with punch inside breaking, finger foods falling to the floor and the table splitting into perfect halves.

I and Tobias burst out laughing as others around us do the same, while some good natured people scramble to help the victim of our prank up. The laughter dies down but I and Tobias keep on laughing as we bend a little to hold our stomachs. We finally stop wiping tears of laughter from our eyes. The whole room is silent as everyone looks at us. Somehow we managed to be in the centre of the room and someone put the spotlight on us.

"Busted" Tobias squeaks from beside me.

"That you are". Emma's brother, Zach acting Beta of Alpha Alexander says from behind us.

"Darn it" I mutter as we both turn around to the sound of the voice. We turn to face Zach the acting Beta of our pack, his father is to hand down his title to his son soon because Zach here is still in training. He's tall just like the rest of the males in our pack, blonde hair that falls over his eyes and blue eyes like that of his sister.

"Alpha's office" is all he says as he walks between us and into the crowd behind us.

*******Flashback ended*******

We didn't get off easily with the Alpha; he wasn't too harsh on us though, we did pack chores for the rest of that week and we helped in the Christmas preparations.

Tobias puts his arm around my shoulders as he steers me clear off a pillar I didn't notice was in front of me.

"I'm going to assume you're thinking about me" he says smugly with his hand on my shoulders.

"You wish" I say to him holding his hands dangling on my right shoulder.

"Funny how I do wish that sometimes".

"You have issues".

"I know that" he says as I shake my head at him.

We make our way out of the hall, shouting happy New Year to our friends and random people.

Tobias stops walking and turns to face me which causes me to do the same.

"I have to head back home" he says smiling.

"Okay, we'll see some other time then"

"My Nana wants me home early she said something about teaching me manners." He trails off running his hand through his hair. At the mention of his grandma I immediately light up with a big grin on my face.

"Awwn that's so Nana Stone"

"Tell me something I don't know" he mutters.

"Cheer up buddy" I say hitting him on his arm lightly "She's like one of the coolest old people I know".

"Well you don't live with her and you clearly don't know a lot of old people". He says with a smirk on his face.

"Hey that's so not true" I say

"Should we start listing?"

"No." I say looking anywhere but at his smug face as a cheerful laughter breaks free from his mouth which puts a smile on my face.

"Oh Jasmine!"

"Whatever greet Nana Stone and your sisters for me will ya"

"I will"

"And your parents too okay?"

"Yes ma'am"

"Don't call me that"

"Tomorrow?" he asks as he opens his arms for a hug.

"Tomorrow" I answer enveloping myself in his muscly arms.

The walk home was quite short, you could locate our house from a distance because my mom had refused to take down the Christmas lights. So our house was the only one lighting up the entire street and you could also hear the howls of laughter coming from the same house. So with a smile on my face I shuffle my feet to walk faster to my house.
