Proud to Bear Its Name

After a while, the two girls went out of their rooms to prepare their themselves. Although some time have passed, they can still enter the site and watch their seniors.

Their school was given the same spots where they can watch their schoolmates. The first portion was the senior's fighting to be the best of their professions.

The rules were the same as what the Juniors do. The way they find out who will be the proclaimed best was also the same.

Mu Yue made sure to observe the Sword Cultivators and learn from them. She observed that these student's don't seem to run out of their energy to supply their techniques with. She then listed it as an example of Foundation Establishment's difference from Qi Condensation Stage.

She did not learn much as she already knew most of it from observing Jian Yun.

Zongying earned 100 points from its winning students. Cheng Boqin got first place for the Weapon Cultivator competition while Hui Yin won third.

The next day, Mu Yue and Xiao Yan went early as the principal told them to not miss what would happen. When they arrived, they saw multiple screens floating above the platforms. They were being projected by some sort of array or magical item.

The first part of the senior's combat tournament requires them to wander around a chosen forest by the staff. They then have to get a certain amount of beast cores. Either killing the beasts or stealing from others.

The staffs led all the students to the forest. They made sure that those students in the same school are far away from each other from their starting point. They could team up with their schoolmates if they met each other but only a small amount managed to do so.

Only 32 students will advance to the next round. After someone got the required amount of beast cores, they can activate a talisman given to them to have a staff go to their position. If they just called a stuff without thr enough materials, they will instantly be disqualified.

The principal had the two watch this so he can prepare them. Xiao Yan might have already know this but Mu Yue still did not. What he was referring was the cruelty of cultivation.

Before he can explain things, a student died, killed by a random magical beast. After a while, another student died after being killed by someone.

"This was what I wanted the two of you to see. As you go up the ranks of cultivation, you will see more cruelty. Even a simple tournament have a casualty. This makes the wilderness even more dangerous."

As for the guy who killed someone, he was only disqualified. The staff had seen a lot of these kind of deaths happen and is now normal to see, but they still have to give out a punishment.

Of the 32 students that advanced, 5 came from their school. Cheng Boqin, Hui Yin, Jian Yun and two others.

These remaining students fought each other until 10 remains. Cheng Boqin and Hui Yin reached this far. Cheng Boqin reached rank one while Hui Yin reached rank five.

Although the school have Cheng Boqin as the top rank for the combat tournament, they were still second in terms of points. They would have to reach the top rank for the team battles if they want their school to be the top.

The principal said that he won't blame them if the school didn't become the top rank, but he was currently sweating buckets. Damn him and his big mouth. If they did not win, those old foggies will not let him off.

The others do not know of this, even Mu Yue was not told. She was just watching casually and remembering things that may prove to be useful for her in the future.

Fortunately, the seniors made sure to do their best on the upcoming matches. Looking for intel on their opponent, finding their weaknesses, and forming battle plans for each team, was some of what they did just so they could win.

Never letting down their guard but not showing much of their power if not needed. Although their opponents know how strong each members are, what make them win was their good teamwork.

One by one, they defeated each team. They even sustained heavy injuries as sacrifices so that they could win. Even resorting on using one of their members as meatshield, which cause their opponent to be caught off guard.
