I could barely make out anything through the clouds of dust that rose continuously as the entangled forms of Valen and Silas rolled across the field. I heard growls from both men, but I could tell they hadn’t fully shifted.
Sh*t.
I struggled to my feet and peered through the dust to get a better view. My heart thundered in my chest. Somehow the pair had landed clear across the field, and Valen now had a writhing Silas beneath him in an attempt to escape.
The waves of anger I felt coming from Valen were almost tangible. There were streaks of blood on the side of Silas’s face that I could see. And I could clearly make out claws on the hand Valen had at Silas’s throat.
Not fully shifted, but his wolf had definitely made an appearance.
Sh*t.
Why wasn’t anyone doing anything to help? All the other recruits had backed away from the scene.
I had to do something. I made a step toward the pair, but an arm snaked around my waist, stopping me in my tracks.
