Chapter Eighteen

[P.O.V. Zyston Woods]

The Siren has a mermaid-like tail. Except it wasn't very pretty looking. She has scales and different fins all over her body. Her eyes weren't human; they were fish-like. They glowed a bright yellow. She has two rows of sharp teeth on the top and bottom of her mouth. She has long, sharp claws on her webbed fingers.

Those claws were digging deep into my leg as she drags me further down into the lake. Holding my breath the best I could. Starting to thinking Travis was right; maybe she did wanted to kill us.

Letting go of my leg, she starts to swim around me. Then all of a sudden, she was gone, blending in with the lake. Starting to swim to the top of the lake. When all of a sudden, she started to swim towards me rapidly. Gripping onto me tightly, she bites down on my left shoulder. Ejecting her venom into my body, making me go into some illusion or vision.

There was no life at all in the Kingdom besides those who are slaved. Along with the Dark Army torturing some of these poor souls. Every future, King was dead, including me. All the Queen's have turned evil. What surprised me is Katrina was Queen of the Moon Goddess Kingdom instead of Adriana. My mate was the Higher Queen, Queen of the heart of the Kingdom. If this is true, then who is the Higher King? Looking closer, I could see Alexander as the Higher King. Except it wasn't really him, he seemed completely different. Looking deeper into the vision, I could see I was right. It was Alexander's body, but the Dark King possessed it. After taking control of the God's and Goddess's Kingdoms, he goes after taking the world.

"This is what will happen if even one of your future King's gives up or dies in this war." A woman's voice says inside my mind.

"Who are you?" Asking her

"It doesn't matter who I am. What do matters is I am here to give a message. All Five already known King's have a weapon to help them defeat the Darkness. The Sixth King is already here; he has not been recognized yet. He or anyone won't know he is the Sixth King until he or one of the King's is chosen as Higher King. We are watching your Alpha King and all the other King's. Make the right choice."

My head is no longer filled with the vision the Siren let's go of me and swims away. Almost completely out of breath, swimming fast as I could to the top. Getting to the top, taking a deep breath for air, trying to figure out what just happened.

Swimming back to shore, lying down on my back. Catching my breath while looking up at the night sky, the moon almost full. Time running out the battle is about to begin. I hope that where ever my gorgeous Mate is that she is safe.

[P.O.V. Adriana Braxton]

When Jolene got back that night, she was a completely different person. Kat told me that most werewolves go mentally insane. With the death of their Mate, others become numb and empty of a shell. We don't know what Jolene is quite yet; she is doing a little bit of both.

There, times she won't even talk or respond to anything. Then there are times she has these episodes of insanity. She cries, gets angry, and starts tearing the forest apart, then she empty shell again. It is a different order every time she has one of these episodes. Either way, Scarlet, Katrina, and I are by her side, trying to help the best we can.

That was until we split up. Katrina and Scarlet, along with the other survivors, headed towards the Stone Kingdom. At the same time, my Guardians, Jolene, and I headed towards the Fallen Moon Goddess Kingdom. Now it's just me taking care of Jolene the best I can.

It wasn't too bad hiking whenever I got tired. The triplets would take turns taking care of me by letting me ride piggyback. They also made sure I got plenty to eat. Whenever we needed food, we go hunting for it.

It almost dark now we have made camp for the night. Heading to sit down by the campfire, my head got really light-headed. Then everything started to spin; a sharp pain was hurting between my neck. Last thing I remember before blacking out. Were Jolene and Gilo run towards me.

After everything went dark, I had some weird dream, maybe a vision of what will happen if the dark wins this war. It was horrifying, especially seeing myself that way. The Forest was destroyed all the lakes, streams, rivers were polluted and very dirty. It was heartbreaking knowing my Mate was dead. Also, seeing the mistreated creatures and humans.

While looking at this, I could barely hear a woman's voice. I couldn't make out what she was saying. Then all of a sudden, it was over, snapping my eyes open quickly. Shiloh was above me, looking at me all concern. Looking around, the other guys and Joel sat a little away.

"What happened?" Asking Shiloh while sitting up and rubbing between my neck. Trying to get the pain to stop throbbing.

"I was going to ask you that, one minute you're fine, then you blackout. With Gilo catching your fall." Shiloh says back. That's when I explained to him what happened.

"Do you mind if I look at where it hurts?" He asks, nodding my head to permit him. He slightly moves my shirt to the side. Everyone faces looked a little shocked.

"What is it?" Asking them, a little irritated.

"You do know how the mating bond works, correct?" Shiloh asks.

"Yes..." Where is he going with this?

"In mating bonds, you can't feel the other Mates physical pain. I mean, you know when there hurt..."

"Get to the point." Cutting him off with a growl.

"A powerful creature must have hurt Zyston because you got a huge bruise there. That looks like you have been bitten. It's probably how you saw what you saw. Along with hearing some woman voice."

"Oh..." I didn't know quite what to say. The only thing I could think of is wondering if Zyston was alright.

I wish I could contact him through our bond. The only thing is when Mates have been away from each other for so long. The link weakens until they are reunited. That is what has happened to ours, so it takes a lot to contact one another.

"Hey, he's okay, alright?" Shiloh reassures me. Looking up at him, he gives me a half-smile. Smiling and nodding in my head in agreement.

"Relax and quit worrying so much. Time to rest up for we will be at the Fallen Kingdom tomorrow." Milo pipes in. With that said and done, everyone lays down for some rest.

Looking up at the moon, it was almost full and had a bit of purple tint. Time is running out before the battle on the Stone Kingdom begins. I hope I get there in time with the sword.

We all get up early the next morning by the time it was Noon. We made it to the Fallen Moon Goddess Kingdom. It looked like something you would see in movies. A once beautiful castle was broke into different pieces, with a huge and full green forest surrounding it and growing over it.

"Tanasha said it was in the tomb?" Milo asks. Taking a stand next to me.

"Yes, why?" Asking back.

"The Fallen King tomb is underneath the castle. Sealed completely in a stone room, the only way in is a magic door."

"You didn't think about telling this to me before?" Asking a little panicky.

"Don't worry, and we'll find a way in." Gilo pipes in.

"We better; we only got a few days left before this huge battle begins." Telling Gilo. He just gave me an I-know look.

"Are you three going to look at the scenery all day? Or you coming?" Shiloh asks. Both of us turn around and follow him.
