Chapter 25: Hearts Don't Beat, They Break

Shayla made the flight home with Hadley sitting tightly next to her, as Liam told her exactly what happened.

Liam and the pack fought off all of the Manhattan Shadows that emerged from the darkness in that building. Liam had lost track of her and Evan but they were still homed in on Hadley, so they continued trying to find him.

Once he was found, they got him to safety and went back in for Evan and Shayla. The building had grown quiet once more, but Liam had sensed where she was.

They approached the dead end of the hallway to find Evan hovering over her passed out body. He looked distraught. Liam had thought it was just because of Shayla passing out. He had no idea that it was because his secret had been revealed.

"You had every right to throw him out. I can't believe he did this to you. At least we now know how the mystery wolf is that attacked our pack member. Gracie sure did hide it well. I guess Evan also did for that matter," Liam said.
