Chapter 4: To retrieve you

Alicia was staring straight into the forest at the end of the trail, trying to forget what just appeared in her mind.

Not noticing someone behind her, the person tapped her shoulder. Alicia jumped out of shock and turned around to see who it was "Ahhh oh my god it's you, why are you here?". It was the same man she had met in her house. "No reason" he said looking at her, "I just saw you staring into the forest and you weren't moving so I thought of asking if you're okay" he continued to stare down at her who had a puzzled face.

"Oh, I see.. I'm fine" not wanting to be involved with the man she walked away but the man had followed her, noticing this she stopped and turned around to face him "Why are you following me?".

The man only stared at her, not thinking of answering her but he did in the end "I'm making sure you're going to be okay" in an unsure voice. Alicia not picking up the tone in his voice gives a cold glare at the man and mumbles to herself "You don't need to, I'm not a child" and continues to walk away from the man heading in any direction she saw.

The had heard her and chose not to follow her anymore "Oh Alicia, how long will you last until you know the truth?"

The girl was no longer in sight as she had walked into the forest, but the sun was starting to set, it was cold and windy, but it didn't matter to Alicia.

Alicia had walked for a long time by herself, no one to tell her what to do and how to live her life or who she can hang out with. She wanted to know what happened to her parents, this was the second time her parents had done this to her.

She didn't know who her biological parents were, she didn't even remember what they looked like. Alicia thought to herself why this keeps happening to herself, was she not a good enough daughter? Or did something happen to them? Or were they keeping secrets from her?

She thought that if her biological parents didn't want her, and if even the other adoptive parents took her in only to leave her, then why did they bother in the first place. "What a confusing world this is" sighing deeply.

Reaching far into the forest, she looks back behind her to see where she came from. Alicia sees a figure in the distance, not sure on what the figure is, her heart beats fast as she thinks someone is following her, thinking that it's the man from before, she calls out "Are you serious? You're still following me?", seeing the figure move closer.

And closer…

And closer.

Alicia doesn't move as she can't make out what it is but one thing she sure does know, that this figure didn't look very "normal" to her. Realising that this creature isn't going to hurt her, she stares right at it.

The creature was pretty and if you look close enough you can rather say it looked magnificent with its cloak on. The creature continued to approach her, Alicia taking a step backwards to leave some space between it, her current parents had once told her 'looks can be deceiving'. When the creature got close enough, Alicia could tell what it was, it was a fox. The fox was fluffy, white with a nice brown to its fur. Though it was wearing a black mask, it covered part of her face.

Her eyes were that of colours from flames standing out, her cloak was dark brown and tattered. "Alicia" the fox called her name, not getting a response from Alicia, the fox stepped closer "Lady Alicia!".

Alicia snapped right back out of being surprised when the fox she had never met knew her name, let a lone call her 'Lady'. I'm not a lady Alicia thought.

"Excuse me for bothering you but my name is Ziva, I've been sent from the kingdom to come retrieve you". Alicia laughed out loud "What?? You can't be serious, nice joke! I'm not going to be fooled by a stranger, let a lone whom is a talking fox!"
