If he had to do it all over again, he would’ve been more fun, he decided. He would be more willing to go along with Lucky and Stella’s games, and take them up on their multiple offers to hook him up with someone. Hell, he might even make a pass at Lucky before Lucky married Stella this time. What could it hurt? Catch Lucky in the right mood and if he wasn’t interested, he would just joke it away. It wasn’t as if Lucky wasn’t fully aware of his own appeal.

He was still lost in the fantasy when Alona appeared at his elbow.

“Earth to Shane.” She waved her hand in front of his face. “You in there, or do we have to send in a search party?”

He jerked and stared down at her for a moment before getting his bearings back. “Sorry. What did you want?”
