Summary: The call you had received from the school had ended your lunch abruptly but you couldn't possibly be mad at your daughter. Not while your husband was laughing so loudly behind you.

............................................................

"Ok, now do you have everything Lucy? Your homework? Your picture for show and tell?"

Lucy nodded as you helped her zip her jacket up. Lucifer watched from the balcony where he was smoking a cigarette.

"Darling stop fussing, I'm sure she's got everything she needs." He called with an amused grin.

You couldn't help yourself, it was a new school and you wanted her first day there to be a good one.

"I know, I'm just worried." You sighed.

"She'll be fine my dear."

You nodded apprehensively and watched as Lucifer took his daughter's hand leading her out of the penthouse. The day went on without a hitch, and you received no calls from the school. In fact, you had all but forgotten your worries, but luck never did seem to be on your side.

"What did you bring in for show and tell Lucille?"

Lucy walked up to the front of her class, shuffling her feet a little, nervous. She held up a picture frame and looked at her teacher who gave her an encouraging smile, nodding for her to continue.

"This is my daddy, and my uncle Amenadiel, but I call him Uncle Amen."

Lucy pointed to her Father in the picture first.

"Daddy, own a night club, it's called Lux, I'm only allowed down there when it's closed though. Mommy tells me I'm not big enough for the stuff daddy drinks down there. Oh, and Daddy is the devil, he had wings but my Auntie Maze cut them off."

The whole class simply stared at her in silent shock. The teacher furrowed her eyebrows and forced a smile.

"Lucille, honey why don't you tell us about your uncle?" The teacher asked, hoping to change the subject.

"Ok, my Uncle Amen is an angel he has his wings still, but he doesn't have a halo, but he has a special necklace grandpa gave him! I'm not allowed to talk to grandpa though daddy says he's a dick."

There was a collective of 'ohs' from the other children in the class. The teacher sent the other children a scolding look when they began to laugh.

"Lucille, we don't say that word."

Lucy looked at her confused and tilted her head.

"Why? It's what daddy says grandpa is."

"I'm sure it is, but that's not a nice word, and I'm sure your dad is a very nice man, why do you call him the devil?"

Lucy frowned, and gave the teacher a blank look.

"Because he is, he's got a devil face and everything, I haven't seen it cause mommy and daddy says it's too scary, but I can do this!"

The screams that followed echoed throughout the halls.

"We come here all the time darling, why do you take so long to order?" Lucifer sighed dramatically.

You rolled your eyes and closed your menu.

"I like trying new things Lucifer." You shrugged.

His grin made you want to rephrase what you said into something he couldn't make dirty.

"Oh yes my love, I you do."

You opened your mouth to reply but your phone buzzed violently on the table and you frowned when you saw the caller I.D. Lucifer must have caught a glimpse of it as well because his grin had fallen.

"Hello?"

Lucifer watched your reaction go from worry to shock then back to worry.

"We'll be right there."

You hung up, standing as you hurried to gather your things together.

"Is Lucy alright?"

You paused for a moment.

"Yes, but I think her class might be mentally scarred."

He raised an eyebrow at that, following closely behind you as the two of you headed for the car.

"Y/N, I'm sure she's fine, slow down a moment."

You ignored him as you hurried to the principal's office. Lucy turned to look at you smiling brightly, when she saw it was you and Lucifer. You lifted your daughter into your arms, and you sat in a chair across from the principal's desk. Lucifer stood behind you in an almost intimidating and protective manner.

"Mr. Collins, you weren't very clear on the phone, is Lucy in trouble?"

You almost missed the teacher huddled in the corner as far away from your five-year-old as possible in the tiny office.

"That child is the devil!"

You turned your head sharply to glare at the woman. Lucifer however only scoffed.

"Ms. Andrews!" The principal snapped.

Lucy didn't seem to notice anything wrong, and just waved at Lucifer who chuckled and took her from your arms.

"That child isn't human!"

"Well you're half right." Lucifer muttered.

The principal let out an exasperated sigh, sitting back in his chair. He pinched the bridge of his nose.

"Ms. Andrews claims that Lucille's eyes... turned red."

You could hear in his voice how ridiculous he thought this all was.

"Did they? Marvelous! Have you been practicing my little spawn?" Lucifer looked at his daughter proudly.

You tried to laugh it off and sat back in your chair.

"It was probably just a trick of the light or something." You offered weakly.

You hoped to try to salvage this situation before it got to out of hand.

"My entire class saw it! That little girl is the devil, she shouldn't even exist!" Ms. Andrews hissed.

Well so much for working it out. You nearly jumped to your feet but Lucifer wisely placed a hand on your shoulder to keep you sitting. You turned your head to look at him in disbelief when he started laughing.

"I assure you my daughter is not the devil, Ms. Andrews, but by all means if you think she should leave, I'd be happy to take her out of this dreadful school."

You saw the principal began to panic, knowing losing Lucille meant losing Lucifer and his very generous checks he wrote to the school.

"I'm sure we can come to some agreement, Mr and Mrs. Morningstar."

"Of course, I'm a rather understanding devil." Lucifer smirked.

You suddenly felt the urge to slam your head on the desk. The principal sent you a disapproving look, clearly not amused with Lucifer 'joke'.

"Yes, maybe teach Lucille not to lie about such things as the devil and angels." The principal said.

Lucifer's smirk turned into a frown, and he leveled the principal with a cold gaze.

"My daughter is not a liar, you hairy little gremlin."

Your hand covered your mouth in an attempt to quiet your laughter after Lucifer's comment. The principal was fuming but swallowed his pride, probably trying not to start an even larger argument.

"Ok, this has been a stressful day for everyone, Lucille can go back to class, and we can discuss this in a more appropriate manner tomorrow." Mr. Collins said.

The look that teacher gave your daughter had your blood boiling.

"That horrid is not going back to my class. I want her expelled from this school!"

A dark and sickening feeling settled over the room. You turned your head to glance at your husband as he glared at Ms. Andrews.

"You'd do well not to refer to my daughter as an abomination. She's not the devil here, I am."

His face contorted, flashing between his devil face, and his human one for a brief moment. The scream that erupted from the teacher made you smile a little. You grabbed Lucy from Lucifer's arms, who didn't seem to realize what had happened. You turned to the principal who sat his desk face white and eyes wide.

"I think we'll be looking for a different school." You smiled.
