Summary: Your darling boyfriend had offered to watch Lucy while you slept in, from a hard week at work. Despite the slight hiccup the day ends in the best way.

............................................................

You were vaguely aware of someone quietly saying your name. The voice slowly pulling you from your sleep. You didn't even have the energy to open your eyes.

"Hmm?" You hummed in acknowledgment.

Whoever was attempting to wake you, laughed slightly. A hand brushed a few strands of hair away from your face.

"Darling, the Detective called. I'll have Lucy with me."

Lucifer, that's who pulled you from your dreams. You rolled over, back facing him as you halfheartedly shooed him away.

"Ok, have fun." You muttered.

Sleep was already pulling you back in, whenever you heard him chuckle. You were too tired to remember that he had told you he'd watch Lucy while you were sleeping.

Sneaky Devil.

"Is mummy still asleep daddy?"

Lucifer glanced at his daughter before looking back at the road.

"Yes, her work is a soul sucking leech, so we're letting your mother sleep in today."

Lucy nodded and watched as other cars drove by.

"Does mummy know I'm coming with you?"

Lucy looked up at him, tilting her head. Lucifer shrugged, clearing his throat.

"Of course, I told her."

That wasn't a lie, but he did take advantage of your hazy state to sneak her with him. He briefly wondered if he hid the demon blades somewhere you couldn't find them. It wasn't long before they arrived at the crime scene.

"Stay in the car for a moment, daddy will be right back. Play with this." Lucifer told her handing her his phone.

"Ok daddy."

Lucy watched him walk away before she turned her attention to the phone. The phone began ringing and Lucy looked around trying to find her father. When she didn't see him, she opened the door, sliding out.

"No Lucifer, you can't take a picture with the body." Chloe sighed.

"No? Detective, look how he died! Someone quite literally shoved a pole up this poor man's-"

"I know the pole is Lucifer!"

Lucifer continued trying to get Chloe to agree to let him take a picture. She had stopped listening whenever she noticed Ella talking to a small child.

"Detective are you listening to me?"

Chloe started walking towards Ella and Lucifer frowned. His eyes followed to where she was walking.

"Oh bloody hell."

You were absolutely going to kill him now. Chloe smiled at Lucy, while Ella and Dan knelt in front of her.

"Hey, who's this?"

"We don't know, she won't tell us." Dan muttered to her.

Chloe nodded and turned her attention back to the little girl.

"Hey sweety, my name is Chloe, what's your name?"

"Chloe? Like detective Decker?"

Chloe blinked in surprise, and nodded.

"That's right, how'd you know that?"

Chloe was surprised how quickly the girls' shyness disappeared.

"Daddy talks about you all the time! I came with daddy today because mummy needed sleep."

"And who's your dad?" Dan asked.

Lucy looked at him, frowning. She shook her head.

"Daddy said I'm not suppose to talk to you 'cause you're a douche."

Dan frowned and Ella stifled a laugh.Lucifer hurried over to them.

"Detective-"

"Not now Lucifer, we're trying to get this little girl home." Dan snapped.

"I'm aware of that but-"

"Hang on." Chloe said giving him a pointed look over her shoulder.

"But-"

They ignored him and Lucifer frowned, looking annoyed. Lucy laughed and opened her mouth to say something, instead broke out in a large smile when she saw someone. A red car had pulled up beside Lucifer's corvette and you stepped out. Lucy ran to you, excited.

"Mummy! I went to work with daddy  today!"

You smiled fixing her hair, before lifting her into your arms.

"I know."

The glare you gave Lucifer was nothing short of murderous, and he gave you a sheepish smile.

"I'm sorry, I tried telling Lucifer she was too young to bring to crime scenes but, well I mean it's Lucifer so, you know." You laughed.

Their expressions almost made you wish you could take a picture of them. It was a strange mixture of shock and disbelief.

"You know Lucifer?" Ella asked.

"He's Lucy's dad, and my boyfriend? We haven't really discussed that yet."

Dan looked as though his whole world belief had been shattered. Lucifer seemed to enjoy the expression on Dan's face.

"He didn't um.. he didn't tell us he had a daughter." Chloe said.

"I was getting around to it, I've only just found out myself. Why is that always you humans reaction to that news?" Lucifer sighed.

"Probably because it's a little shocking that you would have a kid." Chloe said bluntly.

Lucy squirmed to get out of your arms and Lucifer took her smiling when she kissed his cheek. He noticed everyone watching and straightened his back.

"What? Isn't there a murder to be solved?" He scoffed.

Hearing the word murder you looked around until you saw the body. Your hand flew to your mouth in a poor attempt to quiet your laughter.

"I'm sorry, but he has a pole his ass."

Lucifer smiled at you proudly and Dan muttered something under his breath, walking away. Chloe on the other hand was smiling. You took Lucy back from Lucifer.

"We'll get out of your hair, if he's too much trouble please feel free to shoot him for me."

Lucifer looked at you offended and you winked walking away with Lucy. He didn't take his eyes off you until you were out of sight. Chloe noticed and placed a hand on his back.

"Maybe you two should finally have that discussion."

~

Hearing the elevator ding you glanced over at it as Lucifer walked into the penthouse.

"You're still up?"

You shrugged holding out a glass of bourbon for him.

"Waiting for you. Lucy tried to stay up, but she fell asleep in our bed." You shrugged.

"I suppose I'll be sleeping with her freezing feet in my ribs tonight?" He pretended to sound annoyed.

You knew better though. He'd complain about her being in bed with the two of you, but it wasn't long before he was wrapping her in a blanket, and making sure she was as comfortable as possible beside him.

"I mean if you want to wake her, and say no to her little puppy dog eyes be my guest."

Lucifer went to say something but froze whenever you threw an ice cube at him. He looked at you in disbelief and you smirked.

"By the way you're a sneaky bastard, asking me things when I'm not even really awake."

He chuckled and reached into his pocket.

"Yes well I would say I'm sorry, but that would be a lie."

You rolled your eyes but you were still smiling. It was quiet for a moment and Lucifer began looking nervous. That in turn worried you because Lucifer never looked nervous.

"So, the Detective made a valid point today."

"Oh?"

"We really should discus what we are."

Now you were feeling nervous. He wasn't asking you to leave, was he? When he pulled out a small velvet box, your heart stopped.

"I'm aware this isn't exactly the most romantic setting, but I'm very much hoping you'll say yes."

He opened the box, and you stared at the beautiful ring in awe. You must have been silent for to long because he shifted nervously.

"I do need an answer my dear. If you don't want to, that's fine, but I feel as though your silence might be slightly worse than a rejection and-"

You smiled at him, grabbing his shirt and pulling him into a kiss to stop his rambling.

"How could you think I'd say anything other than yes?"
