Word Count: 1177

Pairings: Lucifer Morningstar x Reader

Warnings: angst, fluff

A/N: request from , I know Halloween isn't until tomorrow but I've got a very busy day tomorrow, so I had to post this tonight.

Summary: You'd rather be curled up on your couch, munching away on candy meant for trick or treaters. However you promised your friend a night out on the town, and what a treat that turned out to be.

............................................................

You muttered under your breath, fixing the horns on your head as you walked down the steps of the booming nightclub. People danced around you in various types of costumes from a classic sheet ghost to a rotting zombie. You apologized to a man dressed as a werewolf, when your devil tail hit him in the leg.

"I feel ridiculous." You mumbled.

"Stop fussing, you look great! If you keep messing with it, you're going to mess it up!"

You turned your attention to your friend, who was dressed as a nurse.

"I'm dressed as a devil, couldn't we have done something less cliche?" You asked, tugging on the red velvet dress you wore.

She grabbed your arm, pulling you towards the bar.

"Because if we did it your way, we'd be dripping with blood, and blood doesn't get you laid Y/N, a sexy devil and nurse does."

She handed you a smoking drink, that you looked at with apprehension.

"I don't want laid, I just want food." You sighed.

"At least stay an hour, then you can go home, and watch Nightmare Before Christmas, in your fluffy pajama pants, while you avoid the trick or treaters."

You smiled widely at her offer and raised your glass a little, making her roll her eyes.

"Deal."

An hour later you were sitting alone at bar, while your friend drunkenly danced with a man in a vampire outfit. She waved to you happily and you gave a small wave back. You glanced at your phone, deciding you had been there long enough and turned to leave. However, a man stepped in front of you, blocking your path.

"Hi there, what's a devil like you doing in a place like this?" He smiled.

You cringed at the poor pick up line, and lowered your glass away from your lips. His costume was so poorly put together you could hardly tell what it was, maybe a tinfoil robot?

"Actually, I was just leaving." You said as politely as possible.

The man didn't seem to get the hint and blocked your path once more.

"So soon? It's barely even ten o'clock."

You frowned, stepping away from him, hoping he'd get the subtle hint.

"This isn't really my scene."

You tried to step around him again, but he seemed adamant about keeping you there.

"Well then how about we get out of here together? Maybe head somewhere quieter?"

Apparently being subtle wasn't working with this man and you frowned, fixing him with a dry look.

"I want to go home. Alone."

You walked by him, trying to get away from him as quickly as possible.

"Hey, sweetheart wait!"

He grabbed your arm jerking you back a little, catching you off balance. Your drink slipped from your hand, soaking the front of your costume.

"Oh, damn, I'm sorry, let me-"

"I think you've done enough." A new voice butted in.

The two of you looked over to the black haired man. Your harasser frowned, sizing up the other man, whom you noted was not wearing a costume.

"Get lost buddy."

The black haired man must have noticed your wince because he suddenly grabbed the other man's wrist in a crushing grip. The man yelped falling to his knees, as he released you from his hold.

"I believe the lady has made it clear she isn't interested. I think it's best if you leave, don't you?"

The man who had previously been invading your personal space nodded quickly.

"Yeah man, whatever just let go!"

Once he was free, you watched him scurry away as fast as he could.

"Are you alright my dear?" The newcomer asked.

You nodded, shaking your hands a little to get the liquid off them.

"Yeah, thank you, but I think my dress is ruined." You laughed a little.

He looked down at your outfit, frowning.

"Oh dear."

You only shrugged a little, using some napkins to try to absorb some of the liquid.

"Well you don't seem to upset about that."

You paused, looking up at the handsome man in front of you.

"Between you and me, I hated this costume. I mean a devil? If I were going to dress up for Halloween, it definitely would have been more creative."

"Ah yes, your costume, let's get that taken care of shall we?"

You tried to protest, telling him it was nothing, but he insisted and led you away from the crowds of people, and the blaring music. You looked around the penthouse, eyes lingering on the tree like chandelier that hung above the grand piano. He gave you change of clothes, explaining they were from a previous 'guest' of his. You thanked him, walking into his bedroom to change.

"I never did get your name." You spoke up.

He looked over at you as you walked down the stairs from his room. He held out his hand for you to shake, giving you a charming smile.

"Lucifer Morningstar, and who might you be?"

"Y/N L/N, you're the owner right?"

"Yes, I am, you're rather well-informed."

You shook his hand, making his smile grow. When you realized you were holding his hand longer than necessary you quickly let go, a small blush dusted your cheeks.

"My friend is huge on the club scene, she makes it a point to know all the top places, and who runs them."

Lucifer poured you a drink, offering it to you but you refused. He shrugged, drinking it himself.

"Am I to assume this friend of yours is the same one who forced you into that outfit and to my club?" He chuckled.

"Yeah."

"Well remind me to thank her for that, certainly worked well in my favor."

You raised an eyebrow at his words, giving him a coy smile.

"Did it?"

"Of course, after all it's given me the chance to meet you."

You laughed a little at his obvious flirting and glanced towards the elevator.

"I probably should be going."

Lucifer looked a little disappointed after hearing that.

"Must you leave so soon?"

You bit your lip, nothing demanded that you leave right away, but he didn't seem like the guy to miss a party. You'd already taken enough of his time.

"Don't you have a party to get back to? It's Halloween, the club is packed with people in all sorts of sexy costumes." You reminded him.

"Yes I suppose so, but I'd much rather talk with you."

You looked at him, studying his expression for a moment. He seemed serious, looking genuinely interested in talking with you more.

"Couldn't you stay just a bit longer darling?"

You pretended to think for a moment and plucked the glass from his hands, taking a sip of his drink. A coy smile pulled at your lips, as you leaned against the bar beside him.

"I'm sure I can stay a few more hours, it's Halloween after all, might as well have some fun."

Lucifer grinned at your response, and leaned closer to you.

"And what a treat it's turned out to be."
