Summary: This hadn't been in your plans, it had brutally blindsided you. You wanted to be stressed about what food to serve, what flowers to order, whether or not the cake would be done in time. Not the sudden feeling of loneliness you now had.

............................................................

Your vision was blurry and your eyes stained tears as you stood in the elevator. Your dress clung to your body in the most uncomfortable way, wet from the wine that had been spilt on it. As the numbers on the elevator rose, and you drew closer to your destination, you hastily wiped your tears away. As the doors slid open, you found yourself wishing you had just went home instead.

Your eyes were red and irritated from the salty tears, your dress stained and ruined. You looked like a mess, and Lucifer seeing you like this was suddenly the last thing you wanted. He had been the first person you wanted to see when the whole situation had happened. Now he was the last. You turned at the last possible second, intent on leaving before he even realized you were there.

"Y/N!"

Too late.

"Just a moment my dear, I can't seem to find my phone."

He hadn't fully looked at you, not yet, hadn't seen how a mess you were.

"You... you don't need to pay for the wedding anymore."

You kept your voice even, trying not to let on that you had been crying.

"This again? I thought we've talked about this my dear, I'm aware I don't need to, I to." Lucifer chuckled.

"No, that's not what I mean-"

"Finally! I've been searching for this little bugger for fifteen minutes now!"

He turned around, a triumphant smile on his face, as he held his phone in his hand. His smile however, vanished almost instantly upon finally seeing you.

"You look awful."

His response was blunt and obvious, and for whatever reason it brought on a fresh wave of tears. Lucifer panicked, looking increasingly more uncomfortable seeing your tears.

"Oh dear, I'm sorry, I hadn't meant to upset you I was-"

"He left me dad."

Your voice was so fragile, so devastated that Lucifer felt his heartbreak. He stood there confused and concerned.

"What?"

"He left me, he wouldn't tell me why, did I do something wrong? Was I not good enough?"

Sobs shook your body, and Lucifer hurried over to you. He pulled you into a tight embrace, not caring that your tears were soaking his shirt.

"Oh my angel no, if anything you were to perfect for him." Lucifer muttered.

He felt rage surge through his veins, and all the ways he could make your ex- fiancé suffer rushed through his mind. However, when he heard a tiny almost inaudible cry escape your lips, he pushed all thoughts that didn't focus on you out of his mind. He realized, with a heavy heart that you were trying to force yourself to stop crying.

"This doesn't make you weak, you've every right to cry, I certainly won't think any less of you for it." Lucifer assured you, wiping your tears away with his thumbs.

You nodded, stepping back a little, and glancing down at your dress. You decided to change the subject, you were running out of tears to cry.

"I stained my dress." You muttered.

Lucifer said nothing about your obvious subject change, and instead offered you a small smile.

"So, you did. Well I'm sure you've still got some clothes around here, get changed and I'll take care of this mess." He assured you.

You nodded, and Lucifer watched you disappear down a hall, his smile instantly fading.

"And that little imp."

His eyes flashed dangerously, and he pulled out his phone to give Maze a quick call.

When you walked back into the living room, you were dressed more comfortably. Your favorite pair of sweatpants and a loose t-shirt made you feel better, and you held your soiled dress in your hands.

"There you are! I've already turned on your favorite movie, and ordered your favorite food, it should be here shortly."

You gave him a small smile, and Lucifer took the dress from your hands. He handed it to a man that stood by the piano, instructing him on how to have it cleaned. Once the man left Lucifer joined you on the couch, and started the movie.

You tried to focus, hoping the distraction would ease the ache you felt in your heart. The longer you sat there the deeper you fell into despair. After a while though you began to feel angry, and foolish. You wanted to kick yourself for ever trusting him.

"You were right." You muttered.

Lucifer turned his attention from the TV to you, furrowing his eyebrows in confusion.

"Falling in love just gets you hurt."

Regret instantly began to eat at him, and he watched you pull your knees to your chest. Lucifer wrapped his arms around you, pulling you close to him.

"No, I was very wrong, he may not have been the one for you, but you'll find someone, and they will love you almost as much as I do." Lucifer promised.

You wanted to cry again but it seemed like you had no tears left to cry. Instead, you settled for letting Lucifer hold you.

"Can you die of a broken heart?" You joked, but Lucifer knew it wasn't really one.

"Afraid not, but it will get better."

You nodded, feeling sleepy as the day began to catch up to you.

"I believe you." You muttered.

Lucifer held you as you told him everything, he held you as you cried yourself to sleep. And once you were soundly asleep, a blanket gently laid over, he called Maze. A cold expression settled on his face, and he glanced over at you sleeping peacefully on the couch.

"Did you get me my gift?"

Maze nodded, and Lucifer gave her a cruel smile that promised hell.

"Wonderful, keep an eye on her, if she wakes up call me."

Lucifer sat on a rusted metal chair, staring at the man strung up in front of him. The warehouse was damp and smelling faintly of mold. His company, had a bloody, possibly broken nose, and was trying uselessly to get his hands free from the rope binding them together.

"Mr. Morningstar, please! I'm sorry for how things ended but-"

Lucifer laughed, a cold and chilling laugh that sent shivers down the man's spine. He calmly fixed the sleeve of his jacket.

"Well you see Lucas, things ended, is exactly the problem. Now I'm aware there's no good way to end an engagement."

Lucifer stood up, pulling his phone out of his pocket, barely even sparing the unfortunate man a glance.

"Right, that's what I was trying to tell you I-"

Lucifer held up a finger, effectively silencing Lucas.

"However, you promised my little girl a happy life, instead you left her to think she wasn't good enough. In fact, you didn't just leave her, you betrayed her."

Lucifer must have found what he was looking for, and turned his phone for Lucas to see. The man's face paled when he saw the picture of himself kissing another woman, only hours after he had left you. Lucifer turned the phone back around, looking at the picture with distaste.

"She, of course doesn't know this, and I'm certainly not going to tell her. My little angel just spent the last hour crying herself to sleep on my couch, she doesn't need anymore heartache on top of it all." Lucifer sighed.

Lucas swallowed his words, choosing instead to nervously watch Lucifer's every move.

"So, with all of that being said, I'm going to let you go about your life." Lucifer smiled brightly.

Your ex stared at him confused and a little apprehensive.

"You are?"

Lucifer nodded, humming a little.

"Yes, because I'm about to show you, exactly whose daughter's heart you broke."

Lucifer smiled vanished, and his face contorted into something truly terrifying. His skin angry and red, looking burnt and horribly scared. He harshly grabbed Lucas's jaw when the man started to scream.

"I'll have the satisfaction of knowing that for the rest of your worthless life, you'll always be looking over your shoulder, and you'll always see my face in your nightmares."

When he leaned closer to Lucas, the man shook with fear, making Lucifer smile cruelly.

"And should I ever see you near Y/N again, I'll tear your heart out through your throat. Am I clear?" Lucifer hissed.

Lucas nodded quickly whimpering a little. Lucifer released him, tossing him to the ground like trash, as his face returned to normal. He watched the man practically crawl away, a twisted smile on his face. His phone began to ring, and he fished it from his pocket.

"Hello?"

Lucifer strolled out of the warehouse, a content smile on his face.

"Oh I just had a little business to attend to, I'm about to pick up your favorite snack, I should be home soon."
