I am Not an Insurance Salesman

Li Qin Yao lifted her head, and her gaze met with a familiar face. "It's you?"

It was then that she recalled the familiar voice she had heard earlier. It turned out that it was Zhang Yu Han! The man sat a few seats away in front of her.

Zhang Yu Han did not answer. He lifted his gaze and shifted his body sideways. Soon, a cabin crew walked pass them.

It was then that Li Qin Yao realized that the man had stood next to her to let the cabin crew pass.

"You're traveling to the Capital City as well?" Zhang Yu Han asked when he looked at her again.

Li Qin Yao nodded. When she noticed that Zhang Yu Han stood by her side without any intention to move, Li Qin Yao spoke, "You're going to the lavatory? You should go on first. We'll talk later."

It was then that Zhang Yu Han snapped out of his thought. He was heading to the lavatory when he saw her. For a few seconds, he was entranced and had forgotten where he was going. Zhang Yu Han nodded and lowered his head while he chided himself for his stupidity. Li Qin Yao might think of him as an idiot when she saw him standing there, staring at her.

Zhang Yu Han returned from the lavatory and hesitated. He wanted to talk to Li Qin Yao. However, when he noticed that she was engrossed into the book in her hand, he decided not to disturb her.

It was fate that he would share the same flight as her. Since this was not the first time that he had coincidentally met her, Zhang Yu Han was sure that their red thread of fate would allow them to meet again.

The flight landed once after two hours. When Zhang Yu Han headed towards the exit, Li Qin Yao was no longer at her seat. Zhang Yu Han headed to the hall with his belonging and headed out to look for his assistant.

Xiao Ye greeted Zhang Yu Han when he saw his boss. "Master Zhang, the car is here. Let's go."

Zhang Yu Han trailed after his assistant and paused when he saw a familiar figure. "Xiao Ye, you should go first. I will look for you later." He watched Xiao Ye disappeared among the crowd and headed to Li Qin Yao.

"Miss Li. You've grabbed a ride yet?" Zhang Yu Han said.

Li Qin Yao turned around and was surprised to find Zhang Yu Han behind her. Her heart pounded as she heard his deep, vibrating voice. "I-I am waiting for someone to pick me up."

"Your boyfriend?" he guessed.

"My grandfather," she said with a smile.

Zhang Yu Han then recalled that Wei Jun Hao had told him that Li Qin Yao's grandfather was the granddaughter of Li Ren Xin, the Chairman of QL Group Property in the capital city.

"You're here to visit your grandfather?"

"Yes," Li Qin Yao nodded. "What about you? You're here for business?"

"Hmm," Zhang Yu Han nodded. His grandfather sent him to meet the people from NEXT Group to discuss a possible collaboration. At this moment, he was glad that he had listened to his grandfather to come over as he had met this girl again.

"Well, I wish you success in your business dealing," Li Qin Yao said. "You're in insurance, right?"

Zhang Yu Han frowned when he heard the girl's question. "You… Why do you think that I'm in the insurance industry?"

Li Qin Yao bit her tongue when she realized that Zhang Yu Han had never told her what he did. She only found out that he was selling insurance when she accidentally overheard his conversation during his blind date.

"I," Li Qin Yao hesitated. Her face turned red as she decided to tell him the truth. "Sorry. I accidentally heard your conversation with your date in that sushi restaurant."

Zhang Yu Han went silent. How could he forget that he had met her again because they accidentally switched their phone in a sushi restaurant in Y City? However, at that time, wasn't he replacing Wei Jun Hao to his blind date? When Zhang Yu Han recalled the reason he went to the sushi restaurant, he rubbed his nose to dispel the uncomfortable feeling in his heart.

"I am not an insurance salesman," Zhang Yu Han admitted. "I went to that sushi restaurant for Wei Jun Hao. I only told the girl that I was an insurance salesman when I didn't want people to get close to me. I found out that whenever I said I am an insurance salesman, people would avoid talking to me."

Li Qin Yao looked at the man in front of her with surprise.

Who on earth would tell others that they're selling insurance just to avoid others?

When Zhang Yu Han saw her expression, he let out a small laugh. Hearing the sound of his deep laughter, Li Qin Yao lowered her gaze.

"Sometimes, I would tell people that I work for a pyramid scheme company to avoid talking to people," Zhang Yu Han continued. "This technique works like a charm. People would avoid me like the plague whenever I told them these."

Li Qin Yao laughed at his confession. "That sounded like a good trick."

"Are you saying that you would avoid me because I sell insurance for a living?"

Li Qin Yao shook her head vigorously. "No. No. I don't have any prejudice against an insurance salesman. It's just that, I have a few bad experiences with a persistent insurance salesman," she smiled. "So, I would probably avoid you when you try aggressive selling to me."

"Don't worry. I'm in the hospitality industry. I won't try to sell insurance to you," Zhang Yu Han laughed. "I have a few bad experiences with an insurance salesman myself. I tend to avoid them too. And that was when I thought of this tactic. It's pretty useful."
