"I believe what I say
Why does everyone hear me wrong
If I told you different
Would it sound the same
Would it make a difference in any way"
My hands caressed my hips as I swayed slowly to the sound of the music. Slowly moving my hips side to side, reaching forward for my partner's hands. Yet I watched him pull away from me as if I had burned him, turning his back to me I watched him walk away.
We moved in a way that told a perfectly scripted story, yet one that would affect those that have been in this position. A story of lovers that couldn't be with each other, yet would do anything to have their wish come true.
"I know I've done wrong
I pay for it
It's your turn to talk
For once I'm listening"
My tears fell as I reached for him again but only for me to fall on my knees. In an attempt to fight, I wrapped my arms around his legs, trying to get him to focus on me, trying to keep him from leaving me. I let my emotions show how remorseful I was but he dragged himself forward with my weight in tow.
"Say that you don't want me
Say that you don't need me
Tell me I'm a fool.
Tell me you've been touching
Tell me you been bitching
What I've done to you
Even if it doesn't matter.
Matter what's true
Say that you don't love me
Say that you don't need me
Tell me I'm a fool."
He pulled me up and swirled me away from him. Gracefully turning back I reached for him and let the reality of the worldly roles switch. Turning away, I moved in the opposite direction and as soon as I felt him reach for me I pulled away. Catching sight of the pain evident in his eyes. I turned towards him, reaching forward I wrapped my arms around his waist. Then turned him to make eye contact with him. Dipping him and then pulling him up from the ocean of pain.
"Look at all this heartache
What is left
Forgetting how it started
this is how it ends.
Oh oh
I know I've done some wrong
I pay for it
But it's your turn to talk
For once I'm listening"
I pulled him up full force and twirled away. The roles reversed. Tugging each other gracefully, we pulled back and forth, a fight to win to choose who was right or wrong. Pulling me to him I crashed on his chest, my arms wrapped around his neck and legs around his waist.
I let my hands fall, swaying as if a burden, his one hand holding my face. Shaking me to pay attention. Letting my body fall back, once I hit the floor. He pulled me up and we stepped from each other. Sliding left, right, reaching for each other but not touching. Moving our backs back as we twirled to our insecurities.
"Say that you don't want me
Say that you don't need me
Tell me I'm a fool.
Tell me that you've been touching
Tell me you've been bitching
What I've done to you
Even if it doesn't matter
Matter what's true
Tell me that
I'm unknown
To you"
Moving without looking we circled back to each other. Holding my one straightened leg to him, he twirled me to him, carrying me up he continued to twirl me then pushed my body up. My toes pointing to the sky as I watched his eyes. Bring me down, legs wrapped around his waist, he held my body down and I stretched my hands to the ground. Then brought it up to him. Suddenly kissing him.
"Ohh Ohh ohhh...
Ohh Ohh ohhh."
Dropping me abruptly, he pulled my one leg dragging me then hoisted me up by my shoulders, throwing me up then capturing the side of my knees, I curled my body backward and he did the same to his but maintaining his grip. Till he reached the ground and I followed suit. We then searched for each other on opposite sides. Then stood.
"Say that you don't love me
Say that me you don't need me
Tell me I'm the fool
Tell me you've been touching
Tell me you've been bitching
What I've done to you
Even if it doesn't matter
Matter whats true, love
Say that you don't love me
Say that you don't need me"
Pushing and pulling each other. I began to turn from him. Trying to gain my affection, he held my waist to him but I twirled away from him, did a side spilt then twirled to him. Pushing him only to have him push me away.
"Tell me I'm a fool
Tell me that it's over
Tell me that you mean it
This time it's true."
I reached forward and hoisted my leg as if Superman and pushed up, around then towards the front. I flipped away then reached away as he rushed to me only to have me pull away. He then caught me and dipped me. But instead of letting myself be pulled up...
"Tell me that I'm unknown
To you."
I stayed down and watched him hopelessly walk away.
