Sleepless nights

“Alex my case is different, those girls are my business, but you! You’re different, you are born to be king.”

“You can read my thoughts?” Alex ask but he wasn’t surprised, he’s used to them, hearing and reading his thoughts by now.

"I’m sorry about that, but I’m here to warn you to stay clear Lincoln’s daughter, you have a woman for goodness sake”

“I’ve heard you,” he said and promise to stay away.

"Be ready, I’m calling a meeting of the council and I know Lincoln and his men will revolt against it, but what has to be done has to be done” with that he left Alex to think about his life.

He isn’t ready for all this, he just wanted to be Alex and live life running companies and being the spec of many girls.

"Alex is everything alright? And who is that man?” Sandra pointed at Vampire as they can still see his back.

“He’s my father’s friend”

“And he didn’t come in?”

"Yeah, he’s weird, so I don’t want him to come in” Sandra turned to look at him, but she can sense Alex was lying to her but she kept quiet just the way she suspected him with the doctor.

"Are you still going to the hospital for the checkup?” Sandra ask and Alex shifted his gaze to her.

“Why do you ask?”

“I’m coming with you”

He hesitated and said "okay”

Two days later he’s in Evelyn's office but with Sandra. So Evelyn thought to be professional with them.

Sandra waited to see if she will get the hint but nothing.

She check him up and they went home.

Alex was about to take off his suit when he felt something in his front pocket.

He brought it out and saw a piece of paper.

He opened and read it. “See you by 5 pm tomorrow, same place, very important”

He inhaled deeply and exhale, “ What now? When did she slide this paper into my pocket? I’m trying to stay away” but he wants to go, “what could be so important that she want to see me for?” he made up his mind to see her, he’s going to be a man and tell her he didn’t mean to pull her but she should forget everything, and he is going to back up his words with the excuse of having a woman.

"Yes, that’s a valid reason,” he said sounding stupid to his own words.

How can Alex run away from a beautiful girl like that?. There has to be a valid reason and Sandra is one valid reason.

The next day by 5, Alex and Evelyn sat down at the same restaurant staring at each other with his heart beating.

“Why are you avoiding me?” Evelyn ask.

“No! I’m not, I’m just busy”

“Okay, I get that, but I seem to be having sleepless nights these days” she paused and looked at Alex.

“Really? About what?” Alex asks curiously to hear that he’s the reason for her sleepless nights.

“Forget, let's eat” she started to eat and Alex could only stare at her from her lips up to her eyes.
