Chapter 4 Humanity

The next day he woke up and was really shivering in cold. He folded his arms and hobbled out of the tunnel, heading to a cool field outside. Then he took out a book from his inner pocket, digging out a pen from his shoe. He looked up with a bit closed eyes, pensively staring around then he wrote.

"The past and present with a belief. Rejection and determination, driving out every other thing except who I am. Living and getting used to them with a belief of an end which I have come to believe."

These he wrote, folding the book and looking out. He saw some boys beating up a boy while a young girl cried at a corner. When Henry's eyes met with the crying girl she ran down to him, pleading with him to come save the boy.

"Please, come help him." She cried to Henry, taking him by the hand.

"Is he your boy friend?" Henry asked, inserting his pen back into his shoe.

"No, please, come help." She replied, as Henry stood weakly, turning to go away, but the girl held him back, crying all the more.

"Is he your boy friend?" Henry asked again, heavily breathing in and out. The girl quick witted, wondering why he asked. She just had to say a yes, since no didn't work out.

Then he took off his hood, rubbing his palms on his wet long hair. He sauntered to the boys who didn't notice his presence.

"Let him go." Henry calmly asked them, and they slowly stood to see the weak looking. A boy of them spat out some hurtful names at him.

"Let him go." Henry said again, walking to the boy who was being beaten up and took him up, pushing him to the girl.

"Your girl friend." He sighed to her slowly turning to the boys.

"Go home." Henry instructed them, but one of them took out a knife with clenched teeth while the others dressed their sleeves to fight.

"I'm warning you." He added looking down as his face could barely be seen through his wet long hair.

But they wouldn't, but ran down to him attacking him. Henry held one's arm and raised his knee to have reached to it, hitting it to it's fracture as the boy groaned in pains. The other pushed the knife at him, but Henry slapped his face with his leg twice, taking the knife off his hand and threatening to kill him if the others don't go.

"What about him?" One weakly spoke, hobbling backwards.

"About him, who?" Henry pretended as though he didn't know he actually was talking about.

"Henry, my friend." The boy responded, helping one to stand

"He's Henry?" Henry wondered.

"I'm gonna change my name." He said, raising the knife as though he wanted to stab the boy. So the others leaving, running to nearest Cop unit.

"What am I gonna do with you?" Henry asked him.

"Please don't kill me." The boy pleaded.

"Why?" Henry cut in, a bit confused.

"Um, you're Henry as well as I am, if nothing." The boy went ahead to plead.

"No." Henry told him with a mean face, adjusting his fingers that he used in gripping the knife.

"No, what?" The boy to try remembering what Henry had said earlier.

"You lied. My new name is Osborne." Henry told him.

However, some policemen arrived at the scene with the surviving boys to rescue their friend, Henry, but they didn't see him, neither Osborne. They were forced by the alarming situation to get down and conduct a proper search around.

"Hey, come see." A police man shouted from the little roar between two buildings.

Everyone came around and found Henry on the ground. His body was so bleeding and his heart was dug out, including the neck region which was deeply chopped in.

"Jesus Christ." One of the boys whispered, walking backwards in fear, as one of the policemen made a report already to the station a bout the incident.

All the while, Osborne watched from the window, directly facing where they had gathered. Then he giggled evilly afterwards, warning the residents to keep quiet until the policemen leave. While he was yet in the building, his phone rang and he picked it up, sitting down.

"Henry?" A deep voice came up.

"Osborne." He cut in, sniffling.

"Crazy. This is the fifth time you're changing your name." The voice followed after him.

"Yeah. You're abso-fuckin-lutely correct." Osborne told him, sniffling a second time. This time he rubbed his right index finger on his nose.

"A Nigeria force holds a weapon everyone has craved for. My men have confirmed that they have moved down to South Africa. So, Africa is our target this time. My men will be ready for the flight tomorrow by 8 Am." The man informed Osborne waiting for his response.

"You've got your men don't you?" Osborne replied.

"Now you don't ask me that. I sent you your Wilson to get me his box, but you brought nothing. Thanks box...this weapon, is not the fuckin box of dollars to play with." The voice warned emphatically, almost going off when Osborne spoke up.

"You were stealing." Osborne told him jeeringly.

"Look who's preaching righteousness. If you call my mission a theft action, you're gonna be in danger, Osborne." The voice warned again, hoping Osborne understood.

"I'm human, I know what it means. We're all yet to know death and what it means. Or have you got an insane idea of what it is, how it is, how it smells if it does smells." Osborne suddenly began to giggle as he began to hear gun shots. He quickly put off the phone and rushed to the window, looking through to see the boys shooting down the police men. He quickly went back to the woman and her two children, who owned the building he was in, taking them to a safer room.

"Remain here, don't get out." He advised them as the woman nodded. Then he stared at her for a while, dressing her font hair backwards. He kissed her cheek, and licked up her other cheek with a smile that put fear into the woman. And when he heard a second gun shot, he ran out escaping from the back.
