Reunion

Loud music, colorful lights, sweaty bodies moving while being in their own world – Eun Mirae noticed all this as she entered the club. In such a big club, it was hard for her to find her friends who had invited her here. Had it not been for her friends, she wouldn't have left her comfy little house and come here.

But sometimes, going out and watching people swing and dance to the music wasn't that bad.

Walking inside with her black shoes, she saw a woman with curly brown hair and another with blue short hair, waving at her. She walked towards them.

Honestly, compared to them, Mirae was very much simple. She had long black hair which she always tied in a braid. And even now, she tied them in a braid. She hugged her friends and sat on the chair beside them.

"Did you guys actually found this place for us to meet?" Eun Mirae asked as she looked around. The loud music made her talk loudly. As Soo-Ah and Ga-Eun gave a nod, Mirae said "Honestly, a reunion in a club? Nice! Nice!!!" She sarcastically remarked and looked around.

"Is it just gonna be us three?" Mirae asked while hoping for a certain person to come.

"Nope, Hyunmin and Yeonjun are also gonna come." Soo-Ah answered while tapping her fingers swiftly on the phone screen.

"Yeonjun also?" Mirae looked at her friends surprised. It had been a very long time since she saw Yeonjun. And also, she was eagerly waiting for him to attend these reunions sometimes but she didn't expect it to be today.

'Oh God!!! If I had known he was gonna come, I would have dressed more properly.' She thought while looking down at her blue jeans and black top.

Once every six months or four months, Soo-Ah and Ga-Eun used to invite their high school friends for a small reunion. And in that circle of high school friends, Mirae was also included. She also used to come and spend some time talking with her friends.

Until now, ever since, their university days got over, this circle of friends met for like six to eight times. And in these six to eight times, Mirae never saw Yeonjun, the guy whom she always wanted to see.... No! The guy for whom she always tried to come to these reunions even on her bad day or time.

But today, upon knowing that he was gonna come, she could no longer sit properly on her seat. She felt as if she was on the ninth cloud trying to control her smile, her excitement and her rapid beatings of her heart.

At this moment, she no longer felt like a twenty-seven-year-old. Infact, she just felt like a young teen in love.

"Do I look okay?" Mirae asked trying to adjust her braid and then her clothes. Even if she wore something simple like this, she had to look good.

"What? Why are you..."

Soo-Ah interrupted Ga-Eun and said "She is blushing. Look, look at her. Teehee!" They both chuckled and Mirae lowered her head trying to hide her blushing face.

"Ta-Da! We are here!"

Just as they were done teasing, they heard Hyunmin say and all turned their heads towards him.

Seeing the displeased look on their faces, Hyunmin asked "What's wrong? You guys are not that amazed to see us here?"

Soo-Ah and Ga-Eun were very much happy to see Yeonjun after a long time. Even Mirae was happy but upon seeing a girl beside Yeonjun, Mirae was hurt. She knew that it was very fast to judge but looking at where Yeonjun had rested his hand on the girl, Mirae was sure that she was someone who was very close to Yeonjun.

Soo-Ah and Ga-Eun had known Mirae from a long time and they knew that Mirae had feelings for Yeonjun so, there was no way they could have been happy when their friend was hurt.

"It is nothing. Come sit, you all!" Mirae moved her chair to the side and made place for the other three to sit.

Hyunmin saw the displeased look on Mirae's face and he sat beside her. Mirae looked at him and Hyunmin smiled at her. "I think I can sit here, right?" He asked her and Mirae gave a nod. After everyone settled down, it all became silent. It just felt as if no one had any words to speak.

Everyone was busy in their own world.

"Who is this girl, Yeonjun?" Soo-Ah was the first one to break the silence.

Yeonjun stood up while holding the girl's hand. "Ahh! I'm sorry. I didn't introduce her." As Mirae heard Yeonjun speak, she looked at him only to notice that he hadn't changed a bit. Obviously, he had grown very tall and he had changed his hair color from black to brown.

'Is coloring hair that much on trend or what?' Mirae asked herself and looked at him holding the girl's hand. "She is my girlfriend, Song Jenny."

Mirae's heart broke more than she could have even imagined. As she looked at the girl beside him, she realized that she was no match for the girl. Trying to go now and expressing her feelings would only make her feel ashamed of herself.

Again, everyone became silent and this time, Mirae was the first one to break the silence "That is nice, Yeonjun. Congratulations! Hope you both stay happy!" She gave a smile and looked at the time in her phone. 'What was the congratulations for?' Mirae asked herself and shook her head removing the various thoughts.

"Oh, my apologies but I guess, I should go now. I have to go for work early, tomorrow." This was a lie, a pure lie. Eun Mirae was very much hurt by his statement and she could no longer hide her broken feelings. If she was to stay here any longer, she would just end up crying.

Therefore, she just told a lie and escaped from that hazardous place after hugging Soo-Ah and Ga-Eun.
