"What are you thinking about out here alone?" a cold voice said from behind while Eliz was indulging in her moment spent alone in contemplation.
She was at a corner with her hands on the rails staring blankly at the night sky. Eliz slowly turned around and curled her arms in front of her.
'Pierce Landini Aleotti?!' she thought in surprise upon seeing him standing behind her. 'Why did he follow me?' she asked in her head while releasing a deep sigh.
"I needed some fresh air," Eliz said without looking at him. She slightly twisted her head, staring at the view of the city. She wasn't aware that Pierce was observing her every move.
Pierce pulled his face and said, "Good excuse!" His Brown eyes were stern, and she could sense danger from his looks.
"Mr. Aleotti, I'm leaving," Eliz said shakily.
Pierce noticed her strange reaction. 'She's making excuses, ' he thought. There was pressure, and he didn't know where it was coming from. He closed the distance between them with quick strides.
Eliz froze where she stood until Pierce reached her, and their faces were only an inch away from each other.
"You want to leave?" he asked skittishly. There was eagerness in his eyes. His manly deep voice reverberated in the cold night. Pierce moved a bit, and before she knew it, Eliz was firmly imprisoned in his arms, and his warm breath fell onto her face. Eliz felt burned by their closeness.
"What the hell do you want?" Eliz asked in surprise. She struggled to get away from him.
Eliz wondered, 'I have done nothing to wrong him. Why is he doing this to me?'
"What do you want?" Pierce asked in an exasperated voice. "Tell me, and I can help you," he said as a soft command. Pierce hugged her even tighter.
Eliz could even smell his enticingly aromatic and masculine scent. She became more aware and nervous. She clenched her fists and moved with slight resistance. Eliz may be young but not naive. She assumed and read between the lines of what Pierce said. The Navarro Family was in financial trouble and desperately needed his help. Pierce indirectly expressed an indecent proposal to her to be his woman.
"Mr. Aleotti, you must have misunderstood. I don't want anything." She swallowed after saying those words.
Pierce released her and put his arms around her waist. Eliz felt embarrassed by the huge seduction act.
"Eliz, have you ever despaired?" Pierce asked, ignoring her confusion. He pulled her and suddenly pushed her with both hands. Her back hung up on the guardrail. Her eyes widened like saucers when she realized that she could easily fall from the rooftop with half of her body almost hanging over. Pierce pinched her neck fiercely as if he wanted to push her into hell. Her fear magnified.
With her head down, Eliz could see the stream of cars underneath. She felt her heart jump abnormally with fear. For a moment, she thought it would be much better if she died. That way, she would not have to suffer as much. She blinked and closed her eyes. Facing oblivion, she thought, 'I'm tired, really exhausted.'
Suddenly, she felt a warmth enveloping her waist. It took some time for Eliz to come back to her senses. She realized that she was so vulnerable. She had even thought about dying.
