Chapter 1

The moonlight gracefully dances embraced by the cold night sky. Two lovers stood on top of a high rise, bodies covered in blood and bruises. The wolves howl in every direction as the ground beneath them started to rumble. Mystical creatures began to suffer slow and painful death for having false beliefs.

The girl stares at her lover's eccentric black eyes. The man did the same, and neither of them said a word. It seems like they're communicating through their eyes or maybe they're just cherishing this precious moment because they both know this will be the last time they'll see each other.

"My darling, I hope a day comes when I would see happiness in those eyes."

"Why, what do you see?" The girl asked.

The man glances at the moon, "Just like the moon, they're cold and blue."

They heard a loud growl coming from the face of the earth. Everything began to collapse. They knew their punishment is coming and there was nothing they can do to escape it. It's inevitable and it has haunted them for a millennium.

"I promise you."

"I promise you, even if we're not able to be happy in this lifetime or the next one. Even if you don't remember, I will make you remember. I will always find you. Always."

"Forgive me."

"I do."

The girl shed a tear as she brought the blades up and pierce them into her lover's chest. Slowly, she killed him. Slowly, she watch him take his very last breath and even in his final moments, his eyes never left her.

After the man died in her arms, she drop the weapon and stare at her bloody hands. She felt the guilt residing in her heart. If she could only stop it. If she could only bury the curse that's been tied to her soul. But she couldn't. And it seems like their tragic history will repeat itself over and over again until all that's left of her is nothing but her damned soul.
