I Want Your Makeup Artist

She was too pretty!

Zhang Bing understood why Director Xin was surprised, as he was amazed too. Although Zhang Bing has never met Elena before, he has seen her on TV on several occasions. From what he remembers, Elena was exceptionally beautiful on TV, but in person, her beauty was to a whole new level.

No wonder she is known in Korea as the Nation's Princess. One could easily deem her as the prettiest female idol in all of Asia.

Director Xin's expression quickly changed from being surprised to worried. In the drama, Lin Xijin, played by Su Yan, was supposed to be prettier than Hua Luo, which is why Qin Lichen chose her over Elena.

However, one with eyes could easily tell that Elena was several times prettier than Su Yan.

Director Xin was still surprised but nodded his head.

"Okay, nice to meet you. You can go get your makeup done. We are starting with Scene 17 today, you know right?"

Elena relaxed and said, "Yes. Nice to meet you, I will go get ready now."

Elena turned around and let out the breath she had been holding in.

The first female lead, Su Yan, and the first male lead, Zhang Bing each had their own dressing room. The rest of the actors had to squeeze into one dressing room, including Elena. As Mila and Elena walked into the room, they realized that every seat was taken.

They decided to wait for an empty spot as the first scene they were filming, Scene 17, was only starring Zhang Bing and Su Yan. In little time, an actress not so far away stood up from her seat. She seemed to be finished with her makeup.

Mila quickly ran over and told the makeup artist that Elena needed her makeup done. The makeup artist seemed impatient and asked, "Where is she? If she wants her makeup done, hurry, and sit down."

Elena glared at the makeup artist but knew that the worst mistake an actress or singer could make was offending their makeup artist or stylist.

"What character are you and what scene are you filming."

On the list they were given, it was written that they were going to be filming Scene 25 after Scene 17. That scene was before Qin Lichen broke up with her, and they were going on a date.

"I am Hua Luo and the scene is Scene 25."

"Oh, the female antagonist no one likes." The makeup artist seemed even more displeased after hearing that Elena was playing Hua Luo.

The makeup artist began doing the makeup but just as they were doing the eyeshadow, a young lady walked in and shouted, "My Miss Su Yan needs her makeup done. Why is there no makeup artist in her room?"

Her voice was very obnoxious, and Mila couldn't help but roll her eyes from hearing her arrogant statement.

However, this was seen by the lady, and she said, "You. Yes you in the fourth seat. I want your makeup artist. Hurry up, Miss Su Yan is waiting."

Without waiting for an answer, she left, forgetting to close the door. The makeup artist jumped in joy from hearing that she could do the makeup for Su Yan, and dropped the eye shadow immediately.

"You can finish the rest of the makeup yourself. You only have mascara, eyeliner, blush, and lipstick left to do. Good luck." The makeup artist ran off, not even sparing Elena another glance.

Elena's facial expression quickly changed from surprise to disgust. Even in Korea, where hundreds of artists needed their makeup done for a music show, Elena would have a makeup artist that would actually finish the job at hand instead of stopping midway.

Elena prepared to stand up and pull the makeup artist back into this room when Mila said, "It's okay, this is normal. Few people know us here yet, and it is normal we would be treated as newbies. Remember, I was amazing at makeup back in high school. I can finish it for you if you trust me."

Elena took a deep breath and said, "Whatever. I rather you do my makeup for me than have those makeup artists put their dirty fingers all over my face."

She slammed her fist on the table and handed the mascara over to Mila.

Mila was done with the makeup in less than ten minutes, and to be truthful, it looked pretty good. Just as Mila finished layering the lipstick on a second time, they heard the director scream, "Everyone get into position. Let's start filming Scene 17."

Elena and Mila walked out of the makeup room and went over to take a look at how filming was done. Zhang Bing was already on set and was taking one last look at the script. However, Su Yan was nowhere to be seen.

After everything was set up and filming was ready to start, the director called, "Where is Miss Su Yan?"

There were a few seconds of silence, and then from far away, a voice said, "I'm here."

Everyone turned their heads back to look and you could hear a few female workers say, "Wow, it's Miss Su Yan, the film queen. She is so pretty in person."

Su Yan slowly made her way over to Director Xin and smiled.

"Sorry to keep you waiting, the makeup artist wasn't very professional."

One could easily tell that she was lying and was probably playing on her phone back in her makeup room. Director Xin nodded and said, "It's okay. Let's start filming then."

Su Yan gave her script to her assistant, who Elena recognized to be the girl that had stolen her makeup artist. She walked over to Zhang Bing, who politely introduced himself to Su Yan. Su Yan could be disrespectful to anyone in the film crew, but she knew that Zhang Bing had a strong fan base and was currently the most famous singer in all of China.

She smiled and said sweetly, "Hello, I am Su Yan. Let's work well together."

Zhang Bing nodded and the director started explaining the scene. After a short explanation, they started filming.

This scene took place in the coffee shop, and this is where Lin Xijin first expresses her love for Qin Lichen. Lichen rejected her, as he didn't want to hurt Hua Luo. This scene is difficult for Su Yan, as after getting rejected, she has to express her sadness and innocence through her eyes and tears.

After Zhang Bing rejects her and leaves the coffee shop, the camera focuses on Su Yan's face. Su Yan has had a lot of experience in acting, and perfectly shows the surprise in her eyes, which then turns into sadness. Her pupils move left and right as if she doesn't know what she did wrong. A tear slowly rolled down her cheek, and the director called "Cut!"

Right after the scene finished, Su Yan's assistant rushed over and handed a tissue and water bottle to Su Yan.

The director nodded and said that the scene passed.

"Let's get ready for Scene 25, get the camera ready."

All the film crew and the actors moved to a different area of the warehouse, which was created like a clothing store in a shopping mall. Scene 25 took place in the mall, where Hua Luo and Qin Lichen were going on a date. They had entered the shop, and they were looking around.

After everything was set, the director asked, "Where is Jin Yinghui? Let's start filming."

Elena was checking her script one last time, and she was surprised to hear her name. "Here!"

Elena walked over and stood next to Zhang Bing. As she turned towards the camera, she heard several of the workers gasp. Not many people had paid much attention to her, but with her makeup on and standing in the light, her goddess appearance was back.

"Who is that? She is so pretty."

"Wow, I have never seen her before."

"Look at Su Yan's face. I thought Su Yan was the prettiest female idol in China."

When everyone was busy praising Elena's looks, Su Yan's face had completely gone dark. She glared at Elena, wondering who she was.
