A past that can never be forgotten

"Lisa, Lisa, Lisa." It was weird for some reason Lisa was now hearing a familiar voice. A very nostalgic voice that shouldn't be heard anymore.

"Lisa, wake up you'll be late for school." Lisa who was still unconscious had her blanket taken from her. 'blanket?' While Lisa was still confused as to what was happening she opened her eyes and saw someone that should no longer exist.

"Mom?..." The moment Lisa saw her mother she immediately got up to hug her. Lisa's mom was shocked by her daughter's sudden hug but she still responded by hugging her back.

"What's this? Did you have a nightmare." Lisa's mom gently patted the girl's back.

"No it's not a nightmare, it was..." For some reason, Lisa couldn't remember what it was but it felt like she was supposed to remember something.

"What was it?" Lisa's mother asked as she continued to hug her frightened daughter.

"I can't remember..." Lisa embarrassingly separated from her mother and answered.

"Look at this girl... Well, you just need to tell me when you remember, for now, you need to get dressed, school is about to start." After saying that Lisa's mother left the room.

Lisa who was still a bit groggy looked at the mirror and saw her morning look, but for some reason, she thought that she was supposed to be taller. Lisa then quickly started to change into her school uniform, once she was done she headed downstairs.

When she got downstairs she saw her father drinking coffee. The moment she laid eyes on her father she felt a bit sad and at the same time scared. She couldn't quite pinpoint what she was feeling right now but she decided not to think about it too much. If it was truly important she would remember it eventually.

"Good morning dad."

"Mmh." Lisa's dad simply answered with a weird sound and a nod of his head.

"Here's your breakfast." Lisa's mom served some eggs and bread. Once the food was placed in front of her Lisa quickly started to eat. While the family of three were eating the doorbell started ringing.

"I'm coming." Lisa's mom stood up and headed for the door. After a short while, Lisa's mom came back with another person.

"Good morning Mr. Chu, heya Liz." A boy around the same age as Lisa greeted her. This boy was rather goofy looking with his messy hair, braces, and glasses. Still, even though he looked like the epitome of nerdy cliche, the boy exuded an air of confidence.

"Early as usual Randy."

"I'm never early, you're just always late." Lisa's friend Randolph answered while shrugging his shoulders.

"Speaking of being late you two should go now." Lisa's mom noticed what time it was warned the two.

"Oh, you're right! Let's go, Randy! Bye mom, bye dad." Lisa got up and started running towards the exit.

"See you later Mr. and Mrs. Chu." After saying goodbye to Lisa's parents Randolph quickly followed after Lisa.

...

The two were walking a bit faster than usual while bantering a bit. It was quite a normal conversation that they had every other day. But something different happened when they got near the school, Randolph stopped walking.

"Hmmm, What's wrong Randy?" Noticing the change in her best friend's expression Lisa was feeling a bit worried. Randolph scratched his head and sighed before speaking to Lisa.

"You're going to find out anyway so I better man up and just tell you." Randolph looked at Lisa with a serious expression. The moment Lisa saw that expression of his, a lot of random thoughts came into her head.

'Oh my God! Is he finally going to confess to me? What should I do?! What should I do?!... It's not like I don't like him, but I just don't see him that way. I can only see him as a friend... How should I answer that won't make him feel bad?...'

While Lisa's thoughts were going all over the place, Randolph was now right in front of her and spoke.

"Lisa... I... I'm moving away!"

"Sorry but I think we should continue to be friends... Wait... What did you just say?" Lisa who was expecting a different line was shocked when she finally realized what was truly said.

"I said that I'm moving away. Wait, what do you mean we should continue to be friends?"

"Don't change the subject... Are you really moving away?"
