"Hi! Come in. Laotian told me you two were coming so I quickly had the house cleaned up because the kids were making such a huge mess in the living room. Please come in," Daniel greeted happily, seeing his visitors at his door before inviting them in. His protruding belly was showing a little more than the last time they saw each other but he still looked gorgeous as ever.
"Thank you, Dan, but you really didn't need to. It's natural for kids to make a mess all the time," Fyre replied before he handed over a box of his homemade cheesecake and a huge jar of wheat cookies he made for Tian Zi days ago but decided to give it to the Omega instead since he could always just bake again for the Alpha. Of course, he didn't need to bring gifts to Daniel but it didn't feel right for him because he rarely visits their estate compared to the main Mo estate which felt more like a second home to him. In fact, he even has his own room there as if he was one of the Mos even long before he established a romantic relationship with Tian Zi.
He lived with the Mos for more than a year and he's basically the Mo's unofficial adopted child. This happened just because his biological parents asked the Mo couple to take care of him when his sister, Remi, died in that accident years ago. Truthfully, they didn't have to really take care of him but the Mos were very nice people and took him in until he got over his mourning.
"Oh my, you really didn't need to," Daniel said but happily accepted the gifts and soon handed them over to the maids before urging the couple to come in.
"It's fine. I made a lot because I had so much free time and I'm sure the kids would love it, it's auntie's recipe after all," Fyre said even though Tian Zi didn't want to give his food, saying that his brother had more than enough food to feed his wife and children but in the end lost an argument against Fyre. Of course, Daniel could see his pouts when he accepted the gifts, making him secretly chuckle.
"Laotian is still on his way, we can talk in the living room for now," Daniel suggested and the two nodded.
"Kids, your uncles are here. Come down and greet them," as soon as they arrived at the living room, Daniel walked a little closer to the end of the stairs and called. And since the house had a huge ceiling, voices would echo when a person purposely made their voice louder so Daniel's calls were heard from where the children were—which was the game room—where Daniel asked them earlier to play instead of the living room.
Not a minute had passed, two mischievous boys came running down the stairs racing with each other while another one followed behind carrying with him his youngest brother in his arms.
Since Luangmin had grown a lot in the past year, even though he's still eight, he was a lot stronger than other kids and a little bit taller. Everyone thought he would end up smaller among his peers because he was premature and the doctor warned them about a possible slow and limited growth but after he got active with his body by doing sports and martial arts, he had a growth spurt that one would actually believe if the boy lied about his age and said he was nine or ten.
"Uncle Zi, Uncle Fyre," the twins called excitedly running towards Fyre and Tian Zi to hug them before both swarmed Fyre to cling to his thighs. They're not really that close since both Fyre and Tian Zi were awkward around kids but it was the twins' nature to be very friendly around everyone in the family, especially women and Omegas. However, this time, Fyre looked at the twins with dreamy eyes as he smiled sweetly, putting his hand over the mischievous boys. He wondered what his child with Tian Zi would look like. Would it look like Tian Zi or him?
'It would be so much cuter if our child would look exactly like Zi. A small Zi clinging to me like this would look extremely adorable,' Fyre chuckled at his own thought.
"You two should be careful when running down the stairs. Your Mommy and Daddy will get worried if you two tripped and injured yourselves," Fyre said with a gentle tone. Meanwhile looking at him, Chao Yu and Ching Li looked at each other as if they were communicating before they giggled.
"Don't worry uncle Fyre. We're both careful... Also, you've gotten prettier... if uncle Zi doesn't want you anymore, me and Chao Yu will make you our wife, hehe," Ching Li, the older twin, said, which surprised both Fyre and Daniel while making Tian Zi glared at the twins.
"You brats here trying to steal my wife from me under my nose when you still wet your beds," Tian Zi growled in annoyance, pulling the two away from his lover. He knew it was just some childish blabber but after dealing with many rivals for the past month, he couldn't just let it pass. He also couldn't believe a boy who had not turned five yet was talking about making someone their wife. That's too early for them to think about!
"Ching Li, you can't do that... you two can't share just one wife," Daniel said with a chuckle which earned a stunned reaction from both Fyre and Tian Zi because clearly, that was not the point here. Marriage is not a topic kids should even think about.
"Ahww but mommy, both me and Chao Yu want to share and we can play with uncle Fyre every day with our toys," Ching Li whined, which was agreed by his twin. They always share the things they have and although they have quite different hobbies, most of the time they still get along very well and have a lot of similarities. They didn't see a problem to share so it came naturally for them to think they would have the same wife.
Furthermore, they think a wife is just a forever friend that they can play with… they don't have a problem playing together. At first, they wanted Daniel as their wife to play with but their Daddy said they couldn't so they're directing their target to Fyre instead since the Omega make the same delicious desserts like their grandmother does. Playing and eating delicious desserts would have been the best thing ever for them.
"Yeah, and uncle Zi is not married to uncle Fyre yet so we can take him as our wife if he chickens out," Chao Yu defended which made everyone even more shocked.
"Just where did these two learn such words?!" Tian Zi complained as he massaged his temples while securely pulling Fyre to his side further away from the twins. Children or not, Fyre is his and no one else. "Anyway, no one's going to chicken out so you brats should give up. Fyre is mine. Go find your own wife," Tian Zi added, making the twins pout.
"*Sigh* I don't know either. I might need to talk to their school advisers soon. They become even more brazen these days. While it's quite common for kids to be this lively, I'm just worried they would grow up without manners," Daniel worriedly replied before urging the two to come closer to him because their clothes had become disheveled again. This time, Luangmin finally arrived and silently greeted the couple while carefully making sure his little brother wouldn't wake up in his arms.
In reality, the kids have this kind of thoughts about marriage and having a wife because of Daniel and Laotian themselves. This was because whenever Laotian wanted some alone time with his wife, he would say it was his turn to play with Daniel and the kids aren't allowed to join in because Daniel was his wife. Of course, no one knows this yet.
"Chao Yu, Ching Li, Uncle Zi and Fyre brought the cheesecake that you like so if you behave I'll let you eat a slice now and convince your daddy to let you finish it all later, okay?" Daniel negotiated which the two thought for a second before they nodded but not until conveying their last piece.
"If uncle Fyre changes his mind, you can leave uncle Zi and come to us, okay?" the two continued to insist, earning a chuckle from the Omega.
"Hmmm, okay but maybe if you two grow up a little bigger, I can reconsider," Fyre said, still chuckling, making the two jump triumphantly before drawing their tongues toward Tian Zi and running away towards the kitchen while calling the current butler's name to prepare the dessert for them.
"I'm sorry. They're uncontrollable sometimes. Even Laotian can't argue with them when their switch is turned on," Daniel sighed before finally urging the couple to take their seats. He also asked Luangmin to ask the nanny to take care of baby Eli instead and go eat with his brothers for now which the boy gladly did.
"It's like they're brother Hanlu's copycats. Mother said he was as mischievous when the twins were at their age," Tian Zi commented, making Daniel sigh once again because the Alpha was right. Even his father-in-law, Mo Chendong, said so as well. Although it's cute, sometimes it gets a little frustrating.
"Well, aren't kids supposed to be like that? When they spend a lot more outside when they grow up, you'll start to miss them." Fyre responded and Daniel nodded in agreement because he felt the same way towards Luangmin when he started spending more time at school. Honestly, he was just home today because it was the weekend. If it was not, he would be at boarding school.
"Hmmm, you're right. Time goes by so fast and one day we're gonna look back at this and reminisce this time," Daniel replied while rubbing his stomach. They continued to chat mostly about the kids or children in general and while Tian Zi was worried the topic would sadden his lover, he was glad that it actually made him happy instead. Still, he would prefer not to talk about it too deeply because he knew Fyre would think about it later when they go back home. Fortunately, it was not too long before Laotian arrived with a box of what seemed to be a cake.
"I see that you're both here," Laotian said with his usual tone; Daniel was already walking towards him so he opened his arms to greet his wife, kissing him briefly on both his lips and cheeks.
"Yeah," Tian Zi simply replied while Fyre said, "thanks for having us," to which Laotian responded with a slight nod.
"Laotian, you didn't need to buy desserts. Fyre brought one earlier," Daniel chuckled seeing that his husband brought his favorite cheesecake as well. Although he doesn't have stubborn cravings like he was pregnant with Laungmin or had not undergone any sickness, he still very much enjoyed his usual cheesecake, and surprisingly Laotian had also started enjoying it lately although not as much as he and the kids.
"It's fine. There's a lot of us anyway," Laotian said and on cue, the kids came running towards him as they greeted their father as if the twins didn't just receive punishment from the Alpha not too long ago for drawing their father in a different sheet of paper from the rest of the family on their school activity as a prank and their way of bullying Laotian.
"Dadddy~" the twins called and quickly jumped on Laotian who gladly lifted them in his arms after handing his things to the maids silently waiting at the side.
"Have you all been nice to your mommy today?"
"Uh-huh, we're not naughty at all today," Chao Yu proudly said while his twin agreed.
"Very good! How about our Luangmin?" Laotian expressed with a soft smile before he looked at Luangmin even though he knew the eldest never caused trouble.
"I was always good, father," Luangmin stated the obvious, making Daniel chuckle at his eldest response as he put his palms over Luangmin's head.
"He's right, Laotian. Anyway, since everyone's already here, why don't we eat dinner first, fill our stomachs, and then you two can talk about whatever you want to discuss after?" Daniel suggested, looking at Tian Zi and Laotian. Everyone agreed and just like that a lively yet peaceful dinner was held.
