Not Totally Helpless

Arriving at the hospital, Tian Zi immediately paced toward Maverick's room, and when he arrived, the family members of both Sullens and Mos and a few police officers gathered outside the room discussing something. When Laura Mo saw Tian Zi, she quickly called him over to them which the young Alpha was already doing as he was walking towards them.

"Thank goodness you've arrived. We don't know what's happening but the young man wouldn't talk since he was found and instead, he asked for you," Laura briefly informed, to which Tian Zi replied with a nod. Both Joaquinn and Aston looked at Tian Zi looking frustrated and saddened at the situation but they didn't have a choice. They already tried everything but their brother was still not willing to talk as far as his abductor was concerned. Thankfully, even though he was gone for three days, it didn't seem like he was hurt or anything but they just don't understand why he wasn't talking at all. It's like he was protecting someone.

"Tian Zi, I know things aren't so good between us but I hope you can help my younger brother. We want to find justice for him. I'm sure you'd do the same if you're in our situation. If you help us, I will owe you big time," Joaquinn approached Tian Zi. Truthfully, he didn't want to ask the Alpha's help since they truly weren't close probably due to his feelings for Fyre but he was left with no choice. Meanwhile, hearing Joaquinn's words Tian Zi nodded. Although it was true that he didn't like Joaquinn at all, that didn't mean he wouldn't help if he asked for help. He wasn't that bad of a person. Additionally, even if Joaquinn didn't ask him, he would still want to talk to Maverick and confirm his theory. Joaquinn didn't even have to mention about him owing him something,

"You don't owe me anything, I also have something I need to talk about with Maverick," Tian Zi said that immediately made Joaquinn feel relieved even though he knew already that the fellow Alpha was gonna help them anyway. Since, he has already been in the beginning.

"Thank you," Joaquinn filled with gratitude.

"By the way, I don't see Fyre. You two had a press conference earlier right? How did it go? It's unfortunate that we couldn't see it," Laura mentioned, seeing that Fyre was missing since that was pretty unusual for the couple to be away from each other.

"He's... It's hard to explain now, I'll have to talk to Maverick to confirm it," Tian Zi said, which immediately confused everyone.

"What do you mean?" Laura asked again in confusion. What does Maverick have to do with where Fyre was?

"I'll explain later but I'll have to talk to Maverick first," Tian Zi replied firmly to which Laura had no choice but to not, thinking that maybe the Omega just got tired and was now staying back to rest, still she couldn't help but confirm it since she knew her family was quite a magnet for dangerous situations. She was hoping that Fyre wouldn't experience such a thing because of the Mos as Daniel did.

"But he's fine, right?" Laura tried to confirm which Tian Zi truly couldn't reply. He didn't want to lie to his mother so he just stayed silent. Thankfully, Mo Chendong stepped in and held his wife's shoulder.

"Honey, let's just listen to what our son is saying right now. I'm sure he has great reasons for this," Mo Chendong said. Since his dear friend Gabriel Sullen was unable to handle the situation right now due to his poor health, he and his wife together with George Sullen were trying to handle the situation for the kids since they knew this wasn't a good situation to be in.

"Okay Dear, I'm sorry. Xiao Zi you can go ahead inside. Daniel and Ian are trying to comfort Maverick, I hope you can help him find and catch whoever did this to him," Laura said, making Tian Zi nod as he could not wait to talk to Maverick anymore. His purpose may be different from what his mother had said but if he could find and help Maverick at the same time, it would be better. Still, that does not mean he wouldn't help Maverick if his return was not related to Fyre's disappearance.

Stepping inside the room, the first ones he saw were his older brothers standing in front of the bed while their wives sat next to Maverick and conversed with him, still trying to make him tell them who had captured him.

"Maverick, we can't help you if you won't cooperate with us," Ian said with a worried expression but Maverick just looked down with a depressed expression. But as soon as he heard someone from the door, he lifted his head to look and his eyes immediately went wide when he saw Tian Zi.

"Tian Zi..." Maverick uttered and in an instant, tears began streaming down his cheeks. He felt guilty because if it was not because of him, Fyre wouldn't have been captured by that man. "I'm sorry... I-It's because of me that Fyre..." Maverick added that as soon as Tian Zi heard the Omega mention his lover's name, he immediately knew that his guess was right. With his expression turning hard, Tian Zi approached Maverick's bed. Everyone including Hanlu and Laotian got confused at their starting conversation but no one interrupted.

"Tell me everything that you know," Tian Zi requested, as he could hardly contain himself. Seeing this, Maverick became even more guilty. Even though he knew that the Alpha wasn't angry at him in particular, it was because of him that that man managed to get Fyre. It's what he told him when he let him go. At first, he didn't believe him but Fyre was really there and it looks like they even knew each other.

"W-When I was captured, they said that they weren't going to hurt me and that their boss only wanted one thing. I-I thought it was all a lie when t-that man came and said that he was going to t-take Fyre back, t-that he was going to use me but then e-earlier, I saw Fyre with that man and said something about letting me go since he already got him. When they were about to let me go, Fyre told me not to worry and that he was going to escape from there in no time..." Maverick narrated all that had happened between his bawls. Fyre may looked like he was confident that he was going to escape but he simply couldn't believe it.

"Tian Zi, Fyre's in danger. T-That man, he's dangerous. Even though I've only talked to him briefly, I can feel that he's sick. I don't think he'll let Fyre escape that easily, especially since he said he had been waiting for this moment for a long time," Maverick added. It was only for a brief moment but that man shared with him his desires for when he can finally have Fyre in his hands so he knew that it wouldn't be that easy to escape him especially since the man already anticipated that Fyre would attempt to escape.

"Wait, we have been listening to your conversation but I can't help but wonder. What is happening? Is Fyre in danger? Xiao Zi, explain the situation to us," Hanlu asked with a serious expression. He didn't like being left alone in the conversation especially when a member of the family is in danger. From what he had heard so far, it seems like Fyre had traded himself for Maverick's freedom. He didn't know why this happened and who's this enemy who dared to take his future-brother-in-law but since it looked like Fyre had really gone missing considering he wasn't with them now, it must be true and the situation is dire.

Meanwhile, listening to his older brother's question, Tian Zi's expression continued to harden. He didn't know that all this time his hands were forming into a fist so he immediately relaxed it thinking it would help him calm down a bit. Besides, if he wanted to find Fyre immediately, he would be needing his brother's help anyway so there was no need to hide it from them.

"After our interview earlier, Fyre had gone missing. Later I found out that he followed the man who kidnapped Maverick in exchange for his freedom. Apparently, this man had been obsessing over Fyre for a long time now so he purposely abducted Maverick knowing that if he used him, Fyre would follow him without question," Tian Zi explained, and as soon as everyone heard him, all of them gasped except Laotian and Maverick—who already knew the situation.

"My God!" Daniel gasped and was already in his husband's arms hugging him.

"Why haven't you told us as soon as possible?" Hanlu burst into concern.

"I was about to but I needed to confirm some things first. And now that I'm sure, brother Hanlu, brother Laotian, will you lend me your strength to get back my mate? My strength is still not enough to protect the person I love," Tian Zi said with a serious expression and his hand forming into a fist again. He felt ashamed that he was not powerful enough but he can't be prideful with his current situation. However, he promised that one day he would surpass his brothers so Fyre would also trust him and won't worry for his safety.

"What are you talking about? Of course, we are going to help you. No question asked," Hanlu immediately replied.

"Then I trust that you have a lead?" Laotian interrupted. Even though Tian Zi lacks influence and power right now, that does not mean he was completely helpless. This might also be the reason why he hasn't requested support as soon as he found out that his Omega went missing.

"Yes, I do. I've installed a tracking device on Fyre's ring beforehand so it won't be difficult to find his location. I just need your best team to go with me on a rescue mission," Tian Zi said. And hearing his words, it was Hanlu's turn to frown because he did not like the idea of Tian Zi joining on a dangerous rescue mission. Nevertheless, he didn't voice it out because he knew if he was in the situation and Ian disappeared, he would also go and spare no stones unturned. This is Tian Zi's mate they are talking about, he did not have the right to interfere. All he could do is give him the support he needed.

"Fine, but I am coming with you as well," Hanlu declared. If he can't stop Tian Zi from going then he will go and make sure that his baby brother will be safe.

"I'll go too," Laotian added as well. Since Tian Zi requested the best team, it was natural for him to go as well. After all, he was the best member of the organization. Meanwhile, Ian and Daniel hearing their husbands suddenly volunteering, both of them looked at each other with worried expressions.

"But, your wives would get worried," Tian Zi retaliated. He really appreciated the help but he won't be able to take the guilt if one of them got hurt during the mission. Not to mention, both Daniel and Ian are on their third trimester.

"Don't worry about us Tian Zi, I trust Laotian so I know he'll be back to me safe and sound. Getting back Fyre is what's more important," Daniel commented, seeing the younger Alpha's dilemma. The same with Ian, he smiled and this time approached his husband before holding his arms which showed off his baby-filled stomach.

"Me too. Besides, Luu won't get hurt since he has not seen our child yet. I don't think he'll let it pass. Additionally, the person who took Fyre, he's the same person who kidnapped Mave, right? We can't let him roam around the city and do the same thing again," Ian said sweetly looking at the still crying Maverick but later his voice became darker and darker. Ever since he married Hanlu, he had gained so many family members that treasure him, family members that he only dreamed of back then so it was natural he'd want to protect them if one of them is in danger.

Honestly, if he wasn't pregnant, he would have gone as well and helped save Fyre and avenge Maverick. But of course, he can't so he'll have to leave it all to Hanlu for now.

"Of course, I won't get hurt, my Love. What are you thinking? I will be back before you know it with Fyre, safe and sound," Hanlu pouted towards his wife as his palm immediately landed on his wife's protruding belly. Seeing this, Tian Zi only sighed and nodded since he couldn't really convince them not to go when they already decided they would go and Ian and Daniel were fine with it. He just hoped that Fyre also trusted him like how both Daniel and Ian trusted his older brothers.
