Chance

As soon as Fyre slammed the door closed, his heart almost felt numb but he was still tearful. He did his best to not let this get to him but his lips wouldn't stop shaking. He had already decided that he wasn't going to pursue his unrequited feelings, but he couldn't help it in the end so now he was in so much pain again. It was more painful because he saw it right in his eyes that Tian Zi didn't want anything to do with him, that now he was starting to regret what he did last night, but then again not.

Suddenly sobbing, Fyre covered his mouth tightly as he couldn't stop his cry from coming out. The pain he was feeling all over his body was nothing compared to what he was feeling right now. He didn't know why it hurt so much when he'd already expected that things would go this way. He already knew, but his talk with Maverick yesterday made him hopeful. He wished to just disappear but he knew he couldn't do that. He simply couldn't do that! It was him that said that they should just stay friends like always, but he couldn't really do that right? He'd helplessly continue to feel this way towards Tian Zi if they remained friends.

Finally wiping his face, Fyre then proceeded to the mirror to look at himself. When he did, he saw a bit of love bites around his neck area and chest. But instead of blushing and feeling embarrassed about it, his heart ached again. The marks only reminded him that no matter how he tried to change himself, he was still an Omega who would take advantage of his heat just to sleep with an Alpha. He felt dirty and disgusted about himself, but at the same time, he couldn't find in his heart the feeling of regret. He wanted to regret but at the same time, he genuinely couldn't. If given another chance, he was positive that he would do the same and chose to hurt himself again.

"You're so pathetic!" Fyre scolded as he watched himself in the mirror. He stared at his body for quite a bit more before quickly picking the bathrobe to wrap his body into. However, as he was doing so, the door to the bathroom suddenly busted open with Tian Zi stepping in with a serious expression. He was already wearing sweats and a t-shirt, while Fyre watched him in horror still in the process of wearing the robe.

"W-what the fuck are you doing, you bastard!?" Fyre yelled as he watched Tian Zi march towards him this time and all of sudden pull him into a hug. Fyre was frozen for seconds before he started struggling, wondering what was happening.

"I know you don't want me as your partner but please... give me a chance." Tian Zi whispered, burying his face against Fyre's neck. The way he held Fyre was if he never wanted to let go unless the Omega said yes.

"F-Fuck you! What are you talking about?! Let me go, you asshole!" Fyre yelled, punching Tian Zi's side. He was so confused at the situation, but the Alpha's words sounded so good in his ears that he didn't think he would be able to resist and somehow end up hurting himself again.

"No, because you'll misunderstand me again. I-I'm not sure yet whether I love you or not, but I do like you. I've only just realized it. The reason why I was so fixated when it came to you... this is all because I didn't want to rely on somebody else but me. I-I got jealous of Paul Hymlyn... I got jealous of Joaquinn too, and even Jonathan... I know you find me annoying and that you hate me but please, just one chance and I'll prove to you that you can be happy with me." Tian Zi said, holding Fyre tighter.

Fyre was beyond surprised by the words coming from Tian Zi's mouth, but he could not deny the joy he felt at that moment as he stopped his struggles. Fyre was small in height and he only barely reached Tian Zi's shoulder, but the fact that the tall Alpha was hugging him like a cowering child, kinda looked adorable. There was a moment of silence between them which intensified Tian Zi's heartbeat. This was his last resort. When he saw Fyre leaving earlier, it felt like his heart dropped to the point that it was almost difficult to breathe. He didn't care if he sounded pathetic, he couldn't afford to lose Fyre. Although the Omega said they were to remain friends, he knew full well that after what had happened between them, that would be nearly impossible.

"Can you let go of me first?" Fyre asked calmly after the long silence between them. Tian Zi was hesitant at first, but he let go anyway and looked worriedly straight into Fyre's eyes. He was surprised at how the Omega's eyes and nose had turned red, as if he'd been crying. His hand lifted instinctively to touch his cheeks softly. He didn't say anything, he just continued to brush his thumb wondering why it felt so fulfilling.

"Do you even understand what you are saying?" Fyre asked, looking straight back at Tian Zi's eyes after pulling his hand away with a blush.

"What do you mean? Would I even say such a thing if I didn't? I like you, Fyre. I know it sounds ridiculous coming from me. Even I think I'm going crazy. But this is what I feel, and I've never been this way before. Only for you, Fyre. T-This is my first time c-confessing to someone and if you accept me, it'll be my first time being in a relationship." Tian Zi expressed, gently holding Fyre's arm. He blushed a little seeing that the Omega was still basically naked so, he silently helped him tie the robe for him, making sure it was tight and covering him up. Meanwhile, unable to believe what he was hearing, Fyre blinked his eyes watching Tian Zi. He was lost for words on what to say. Well... he had a lot to say but he didn't know how to start.

'Tian Zi likes me?' Fyre thought, trying to absorb the information in his mind.

"You don't have to answer me right now. I'll wait for you, but I hope you'll be able to give me your answer soon after you have thought it through." Tian Zi added with a soft doting smile. All this time Fyre just watched and in the end, he had decided to accept the offer. As much as he wanted to say yes right away, he also had to think it through like the Alpha had said. Tian Zi didn't seem like he was lying to him and although he liked the idea, he wanted to be able to have the time for himself to think it through, since this is also his first time entering a relationship. He was going to invest all his heart into this and he was afraid that, if it failed, he would never be able to pick up its pieces again if it broke.

"Okay. I-I'll think about it."

"Really?" Tian Zi exclaimed happily. He couldn't stop himself from holding both Fyre's shoulders and slightly shaking him.

"Hmn." Fyre simply replied with a blush. Seeing this, Tian Zi couldn't help himself again and hugged Fyre for the second time. They were like that for minutes until they finally separated, with an awkward smile. After their earlier rollercoaster talk, the both of them decided to clean up—separately—and had breakfast after ordering take-out. Fyre was still dazed and feeling shy so he looked around noticing that the place wasn't familiar.

"Where is this place?" Fyre asked. From the view of the dining table where they were at, it looked like the building they were in was one of the few taller buildings in the area, seeing that nothing was blocking the view outside the glass window compared to the ones he had been in before where the view was mostly another building across the street.

"Near C University. I brought you here because it was nearer. I didn't know how long I was gonna last being exposed to your pheromones before I could get you home, so I decided to go to this place instead. I was also afraid we would get into an accident if I insisted on bringing you home." Tian Zi explained. The place they were at was called Secada. It has been a while since he visited the place because he didn't have a reason to go anymore. He only really used it before to hide when he was forced to go to his University but didn't want to. This was also the same building where Daniel Mo used to live when he was still a student, which he only discovered later on.

"Hmmmn… it's fine. You did the right thing with the situation." Fyre hummed in acknowledgment. He never really went to any University so he had nothing else to say. Thankfully, his question had lightened up the atmosphere like he intended it to do.

"Yeah… though I still ended up doing something to you." Tian Zi said, scratching his nape in embarrassment, to which Fyre only replied with a blush. Of course, he still wouldn't admit that he was the one who took advantage of Tian Zi, no matter what.

"F-Forget it. Let's just hurry up and meet Mav soon. I'm worried about what happened after he talked to his brothers." Fyre said, quickly changing the topic.

"Yeah, okay. I've already talked to my butler. He reported to me that the three had a heart-warming talk and reconciled right away." Tian Zi informed. Of course, not that the three were fighting in the first place that they'd had to reconcile, but after their talk, everything should be out now and they could continue to trust and support each other without hiding anything anymore. No one would be holding them back.

"That's good. The more we should hurry up then so we can help them as soon as possible." Fyre suggested with a smile. He genuinely wanted to help Maverick this time, especially because of their talk yesterday. Because if not for it, he wouldn't be this happy now. The fellow Omega's revelations really gave him hope and courage.

"Yeah. Okay."

"But we should take a short trip to a local drug store before we go, though." Fyre inserted and instead of his serious expression just now, his cheeks and ears all the way down to his neck suddenly blushed red, avoiding Tian Zi's confused gaze.

"Huh? Why? Are you not feeling well?" Tian Zi asked worriedly, thinking of the things he did to Fyre last night. He remembered how Fyre had been hurting so much in the beginning, but then later on both of them had started feeling good. But, he could have hurt Fyre without knowing.

"N-No… Not that… Just that… you c-came a lot inside me last night… I need to buy contraceptives o-or else I'll get pregnant." Fyre stuttered. If it was possible, steam would have leaked out of his ears in embarrassment. He'd heard from his doctor before that recessive Omegas have abnormalities in their bodies that no one could explain yet so, depending on the person, a recessive Omega could easily get pregnant after just one time or it could be the other way around.

Fyre hadn't had to worry about this before, but now that he has done it, it was better to be safe than to have an unplanned pregnancy so soon. Meanwhile, hearing Fyre say it, Tian Zi had the same expression as he nodded his reply in panic. For some reason, even though he'd never dreamed of having a child, the thought of impregnating Fyre didn't sound so bad. The thought was making him so flustered, it had become silent between them again.

'I must be really going crazy!' Tian Zi thought, as the both of them shyly refused to look at each other in this awkward moment.

From there, their day continued smoothly but unlike always, there was a connection between them that was too obvious for anyone not to notice, especially those who were closer to them. However, both of them would be surprised that when they eventually ended up confessing one day, no one would actually be too surprised about it due to these people having already expected this outcome, even to the point of praying for it.

Of course there will be people who would think otherwise, but at some point, these people too had also expected this to happen.
