Chapter 6: Love, Blood, and Fangs
PRESENT DAY
Julia Locke POV:
Marcus ended up having an adverse reaction to my bite. He had lost consciousness, which might have had more to do more with the blood loss than my venom. But even after he was unconscious, he kept alternating between giggling and sobbing.
I didn’t know what was wrong and didn’t know how to find out.
The best thing I could think to do was take him to the local hospital which was where we were now.
I sat in a chair next to Marcus’s bed. He had an IV in his arm to help replace the blood I had taken, and the reaction to the venom seemed to have passed and he was sleeping peacefully.
While he slept, I took the opportunity to examine him.
