Love at first sight in the moonlight

He is sitting slumped up against a wall against a wall, bloodied up and in pretty bad shape, but nothing entirely life threatening yet. In the darkness of the room a figure stands before him menacingly looking down on him seemingly about to finish him off. Just when the figure raises their arm with something which appears to be their weapon in their hand, and is about to finish the job, the moonlight seeps into the room from a window. The moonlight illuminates both him and the figure and when he sees the figure for the first time, with the bloody weapon in their hand and the tiny bits of blood splattered on their clothes, the first and only thing to come to his mind in that moment which he ended up slipping out of his mouth on accident as well, was…

"I think I'm in love."

The girl, whose eyes were clearly that of someone who has very little sanity, suddenly went wide with shock as she also begins to blush at the strange remark that she never expected to hear. She falls to her knees and with her hand that isn't holding the knife she covers her mouth as her eyes start to look more like that of embarrassment and something else that can't quite be made out as to what it is. Tears start to run down her face for unknown reasons to both her and him who she was trying to kill as attempts to say something "W-what, w-why…uh, h-how?"

He, still feeling no change in what he has said is also worried that what he has just said has brought her to tears and he has done something to upset her. He reaches his arm forward with his body trembling due to the pain, ignoring it all just for this very purpose as nothing matters more right now. His hand reaches her face and embraces her cheeks for a moment before he can't hold his arm up anymore because it takes too much strength. While his arm was up He spoke to her softly "please don't cry, if I upset you for saying this so suddenly I apologize. But seeing you like this; I do not wish to see your cute face being upset because of what i just said. I was just so taken aback by everything about you the moment I saw you in the light and i guess I just kind of let my feelings out in the spur of the moment."

She looks at him for the first time after he has finished speaking and the moment she does, she has finally gotten a good look at him illuminated by the light and sees how beautiful he looks too so she drops her knife and says, "I think I'm in love too."

Taken by surprise by her response, but also happy due to it, he grabs works up some more strength again and uses both his arms to embrace her in a hug. He gently speaks "I'm glad you feel the same way. What do you say we go out, that is, if you're not going to kill me anymore." She responds in a somewhat gentle voice but still kind of shaky/nervous "I think I would like that very much; I don't want you to die now."

He chuckles a bit before coughing and saying "Ah, well in that case you might want to help me a bit first, because right now I think I'm about to pass out." She gets a confused look on her face and speaks "Eh?"

he passes out and begins to breath in a rhythm while his grip on her loosens since he has gone unconscious. She lets out a small, worried smile and leans in towards his ear before gently whispering in it, knowing he is passed out "You should take better care of yourself, you could have died moving that much while telling me all that. But… I did like you embracing me for some reason even though it was a bit of a surprise. Thank you, I will take care of you now so don't worry."

The next morning...

He begins to wake up as the sunlight seeps into his bedroom through a small crack in the curtains and as he slowly opens his eyes he speaks "Ugh, w-what happened?" He wakes up the rest of the way and attempts to recall what happened last night up to when he passed out. He remembers and a bit worried speaks to himself "I didn't catch her name; I wonder if she left after treating me or if she is still here? I kind of hope she hasn't left; I think I would be a little sad if that was the case." He looks around his bedroom seeing no sign of her and decides to try getting up and making his way to the other room.

He gets out of bed, the pain isn't as bad as it was last night and seems to have gone down quite a bit now, making it easier to move. He slowly makes his way to the door, opening it and walking into his living room. He notices her at the kitchen, she seems to be cooking something. He makes his way toward her and leans on the counter before speaking "Y-you actually stayed here with me..."

Surprised she jumps a little but not much and turns around before speaking "Oh you're awake, you startled me, but you shouldn't be moving around yet you have to let your body heal!" He responds in a playful and gentle tone "Aw, are you worried about me?" She blushes and looks away before responding embarrassed "Maybe~" He giggles a bit but seems to be in pain when he does and then says, "Well it makes me feel happy that you are, even though we just met last night and during such a situation." She doesn't respond and just blushes some more and fidgets a bit.

He speaks "By the way, I don't think you told me your name, I'm Shinya Kurumi, but you can call me Kurumi." She responds, "My name is Takumi Minya, please call me Minya." Kurumi smiles warmly and speaks "Minya-Chan, even your name is cute." Minya responds playfully "Oh, please stop teasing me! Oh, by the way, go sit down over there I will have some food ready for you in a moment." Kurumi listens to her request and goes to sit down at the table.

Eventually Minya brings the food over and sets Kurumi's down in front of him and some for her on the other side before taking a seat in front of her plate. Kurumi tries the food and then speaks "Hey, this is amazing, your pretty good at cooking!" Minya giggles and speaks "Well, I tried my very best for you after all." After they finish eating, Kurumi speaks in a slightly serious tone "Ok, now I have a question for you, you don't have to answer it if you don't want to. I don't really care if you answer it or not anyway but if you do, I don't think It would change my opinion on you either way, especially now after all this." Minya looks a little afraid but nods and responds, "Ok what is your question." Kurumi speaks "Why were you trying to kill me last night?"

Minya hesitates for a moment before speaking "I guess I just wanted to because I like doing it? I have only killed about 10 people so far but I always do it because it's fun or something, I'm not really entirely sure why I decided to do it myself it just kind of happened you know? One of those spurs of the moment kind of things, but in the end, I ended up liking it, so I kept doing it."

The room is silent for a moment, then Kurumi breaks the silence with a giggle. Kurumi speaks "Well that wasn't exactly what I expected, I honestly thought you were hired to kill me. after all, I have pissed off a few people every now and then so it wouldn't Suprise me if you were hired to kill me. But you just turned out to be a serial killer or something." Minya speaks in a bit of a worried tone "Wait you have people after your life usually?" Kurumi responds "Oh, no, not usually, actually not at all really, I think it's because they are scared of me nowadays, but they used to be all over my ass for a bunch of reasons without fearing me."

Minya is a bit more worried now and slightly scared and she speaks again "W-who are you exactly Kurumi-Kun to make yourself sound like that?" Now calmed down Kurumi responds "Huh, oh, I think it's better off if you don't know for now, but don't worry I'm not going to hurt ya or anything, after all, remember the first thing I said to you last night when I saw you." Minya blushes but doesn't look away this time and instead just gently and shyly speaks "D-Did you really mean what you said last night." Kurumi blushes a bit too and responds "Y-yeah I did, and I will say it again, although this time I am surer of it so now I will say it in a different way." Kurumi takes a deep breath and calmly exhales and then speaks in a gentle voice "I'm in love with you." Minya turns red and responds gently as well "I'm in love with you too."

An alarm starts to beep in the other room, and Kurumi gets a worried look on his face before speaking "Shit, that's right, I have school today, how am I going to make it on time?!" Minya laughs a bit and then speaks playfully "Why don't we just stay here together for today instead, I have school too, but nobody will care if I miss today." Kurumi speaks "Oh, what school do you go to?" Minya responds "Akami high school." Kurumi is silent for a moment before speaking again but in a surprised tone this time, "No way, we go to the same school!"

Minya speaks "Wait really? I wonder how come I usually don't see you then?" Kurumi responds "Oh, that's probably because I usually leave through the window and do other things to avoid people and stuff. Even i know I'm pretty dangerous and usually people are scared of me, so I try to avoid them for their sakes even though I don't mean them any harm as long as they don't harm me usually." Minya looks shocked as well as a bit disappointed and she speaks "W-what if we go to school together and hang out in school, maybe then you can do all that like normal? Oh, but today we are staying here so that you can heal for at LEAST one day."

Kurumi responds while blushing a bit "I think I would like that, I guess this means were going out huh? Then again we already told each other about our love so I guess this makes sense." Kurumi hesitates before speaking once more "This may sound weird but, I'm glad you choose me as your target last night Minya-Chan, otherwise we might not have met."

Minya's face turns red again and she speaks "I am too."
