SOSIAL GATHERING

Deswita looked happy and proud when her social gathering friends came. They are ladies from rich families. Obviously, social gathering is just an excuse for them to gather and boast about this and that. And, because of showing off branded new items, of course.

"Oh, Wita, these cakes are delicious. Ish is really smart, your daughter-in-law. Anyway, where's Arista?" asked Karla. She is one of Deswita's most cynical and excited friends. Her husband owns a coal business on the island of Borneo. So, the rupiah coffers are quite thick.

"Arista picks up the children Karla. It's normal at this hour. Let's just have lunch first. Arista has already cooked for all of us," said Deswita.

Karla looks radiant, she really likes Arista's cooking. Karla and Arista's mother are good friends. So, she knows very well how Arista's family is.

Doctor Herawati, Arista's mother is Karla's classmate and Karla's best friend. Karla immediately took her favorite rice and rendang. And when she ate it, it was clear that Karla really liked it.

Deswita smiled happily. It is the happiest when it is praised.

If it wasn't for my mother being sick, I wouldn't want to be a maid like this," cursed Mira in her heart. She immediately walked into the kitchen. Opened the fridge and took an apple and ate it.

While in the living room after finishing lunch, the social gathering went straight to the main event. The gathering was only attended by 10 people including Deswita. Every week they will take turns to host. Actually, money is not the main target of the gathering. But, gathering and gossiping about each other of course. What else do socialites do when they gather?

And, it turns out that this afternoon's social gathering was won by Karla. So automatically, next week's social gathering will be Karla who will be the host. Just when they were joking and telling each other Arista and her three children came in while saying hello.

"Eeh, my grandchildren have come. Dominic, Elena, Calista here, please say hello to the other grandmas," said Deswita.

"Oops, why is Arista getting thinner, but getting more glowing, what kind of skincare do you use?" said Karla. Arista smiled sweetly and immediately approached her mother-in-law's friends and greeted them one by one.

"Okay, you eat this first. Then you clean up the plates, okay. Well, it seems like there's only leftover rendang on the dining table. You'll put it in tupperware for the rendang. Just put it in the fridge. Usually I like to heat it up as an extra side dish for the children. Or tomorrow morning I will make rendang fried rice," said Arista. Mira nodded in understanding.

"Dinner tonight?" she asked. Arista smiled, "Damian, my husband doesn't like cold side dishes. So, this afternoon I'll cook. I want to rest in my room first. Remember you tidy everything, okay?"

"Yes, ma'am. I'll eat first."

Arista just nodded and she walked into her room. Slowly she threw herself onto the bed. She felt very tired. During the past week, all the work she did. Luckily she was able to get a new maid. Otherwise she would definitely not be able to lie down like this right now. She must have been washing kitchen utensils and also cleaning up her messy living room after the social gathering held by her in-laws.
