I wake up, gasping. My shoulder is on fire and I feel like crying as I remember what just happened. But a warm hand pulls me back to an equally warm chest and I break down in relief instead, as I smell his familiar scent.
"Dina? Shh...it's alright. I'm right here." David murmurs in my ear. I haven't seen his face yet, but I know it is him so I don't need to. I blink instead at where we are. I'm in my room! My heart begins to celebrate. After all those days of feeling miserable. I'm actually home.
"You found me." I say in wonder, burying myself in David's chest, "I'm home."
"Yes, your home."
"Mom and Arnold?" I ask him.
"They stepped out a bit to coordinate with the police. They should be here soon."
I look up at him and I swear the world stops as our eyes meet. He looks gorgeous as always, but there are tired marks are all over his eyes. I touch his cheek and he leans at the contact. I missed him so much, I could barely think these last few days.
