1.33 Like the fog?

"Wh-what are you guys doing here?" I throw back the question at Britanny, startled.

"We're about to visit Grandma," Sebastian informs me, gesturing between him and Brittany.

I light up, remembering that I'm in the same hospital where David's Grandma is. My heart skips a beat."Oh, so David is here too?"

"Nope. He left to get some rest. We're helping him, and Gramps take care of things here, you see." Sebastian answers, then he tilts his head at me. "You were supposed to show up at lunch today."

"I know, I just remembered. I'm so sorry. I got caught up with something." I tell him. Beside me, Maisie clears her throat. "Oh, um...Maze, this is Sebastian and Brittany, David's friends. Guys, this is Maisie. My best friend."

Brittany snorts. "You have a best friend?"

Maisie raises her eyebrows at Brittany, possibly ready to throw down with her. Ignoring them both, I continue to address Sebastian, "I'm really sorry. Was David too upset?"
