Chapter 1

I raised my ball gown with one hand to avoid it rubbing the ground, while I held my luggage with the other hand.

Yes, I was wearing a ball gown,a black ball gown fit for a widow which I wasn't.My long brown hair was so visible and noticable all thanks to the black outfit.

It was my birthday but it was as if I was getting married; I was a little upset with my family but at thesame time happy because I had a chance to take a break from their annoying faces. I never seemed to blend in with them no matter how I tried,they just consider me as the worst despite my efforts.

Occasionally, I even tried to impress them but to no avail,so I had to stay on my own with my laptop and online chat mates.

"Ma'am!" A young guy called while snapping his finger at my face

I was lost in my thoughts to the extent that I even forgot that I had gotten close to the driver who was waiting outside my house in front of a white limousine. He was dressed in a white packet shirt and a black trouser,was so handsome and also sweet even though I just met him for the first time.

He opened the door of the limousine revealing another young man who was smartly dressed in a black suit,he looked charming and cute as well,but you never can tell maybe he isn't kind as the driver,I guess he must be the betrothed suitor of mine.

"Ma'am you can go in now so we can leave as soon as possible,Sir might be waiting for us already" the driver said

"Thanks" I said and went into the car as he took my luggage into the boots of the limousine.

We drove our way out of the street and out of the town, until we got to very big city which I wasn't familiar with,I haven't been here before so I was dying to know the name of this place,it was like an entirely different world which was seperated from the rest of the world.

"So?" The cute guy sitting next to me finally spoke up

"Oh! I'm so sorry for not introducing myself, I'm Arianna Rowel and you?" I said stretching out my hands for him to shake.

"I'm afriad having an hand shake with the bride of my master could cost me more than you could imagine" he says rejecting my offer in a polite manner

I quietly withdraw my hand,my heart skipped for a moment thinking about what the strange guy just said, if he isn't my suitor so who is he?who could my suitor be?why is he so afriad of him anyway?is he their gang leader or a Mafia boss? So many questions begin to pop in my head.

"So may I know your name?" I asked with less expectations

"Well I'm Maxwell by name but you can just call me max in short, I'm a friend of of your husband-to-be or should I say boyfriend? because you aren't his first wife-to-be and you won't be the last" max says and smiled

"What do you mean by one of his wives? How many wife does he have? Is he a womanizer? " I asked frowning my face but truth be told I was just afraid of marrying another woman's husband.

"He doesn't have a wife but had several girlfriends who didn't last a day in a relationship with him before they get kicked out, I pray you don't end up like them though" he and smirked

I felt peace embrace my heart for a short while but soon became troubled about being rejected by this so called Demi-God .

"Ma'am you should smile a little,my master don't like it when others frown in his presence" the driver stated

Soon the car came to rest in front of a mansion which was sorrunded by shrubs and small trees,two body gaurd stood in the outer entrance of the house while two other stood in front of the main entrance.They were dressed in same manner with the driver,but in their own case they were wearing a black suit and black shades.

They all had thesame hairstyle,same height and almost same body size,they were very muscular and well built.

I gulped down a huge amount of saliva as I alighted from the limousine;my body became a little bit shaky because I was getting nervous,but I needed to forge forward if I ever wanted to meet this man.

"Come with me ma'am" max said walking ahead of me

I did exactly as I was Commanded without hesitation. He beckoned to one of the gaurds standing in front of the main entrance as we walked into the compound,he whispered something into his ears as soon as he arrived.

"Yes sir" was all the gaurd said before leaving

At this point in time I was already getting anxious and curious,why is everyone here acting strange and weird?

"why did you stop?" I asked as soon as Max stopped walking

"Don't worry ma'am I sent the gaurd to notify the master about your arrival" Max says and smiled

The guard who was sent inside the house return after a few minutes and beckoned for us to go inside.

Even though the outer environment looked beautiful it was belittle by the interior view. The living room in the first floor was enormous and gigantic,it was ten times bigger than the one I lived, the floors were made of marbles instead of modern days tiles,the walls were painted white and royal purple.

There two gaint sized window on the wall of the main entrance, with thick red curtain that completely covers the window preventing sunlight from coming in.Two gaint sized frame on on the right side of the room which were close to the stairway that leads to the second floor,the two frame contain the picture of an old woman and a man they might by any chance be my suitor's grandparents.

At the Left side of the room was a fireplace,a small coffee table was situated at the front of it, alongside three gaint sized couch which were few metres away from the fireplace.A huge chandelier hung on the the ceiling,the bobs in the chandelier were like sapphire emitting blue lights, which made the whole place looked as if it was night already.

There were many doors in the first floor but they were all looked like they have been locked for millions of years.

"Ma'am please feel comfortable, this is your new home from now on and you don't have to do any chores" Max stated

"So Where is he?and please can you tell me what his name is?" I asked after realizing that I didn't ask earlier

"Oh! You won't be sleeping here in the first floor, there is a room prepared personally for you at the second floor" He says ignoring my questions

I didn't get the answer I was expecting but at least I have a place to rest my head, today has been more stressful than I could ever imagine.

"Natasha!" Max called out with a loud voice

A lady who was dressed in a maid attire rushed down from the stairway,she looked old and she wasn't in a position to be younger than Max or even me,she was more matured and advanced than the both of us.She looked like she was in her early 50's ,her hair had already turned grey but not completely,her face was already wrinkled too,but yet she was still so beautiful.

"Sir you called" She said bowing to max

Could it ne that Max was my suitor and was just putting on an act,if so why would he be pretending? Or are they somehow related or what?if they aren't related why else would everyone be yielding to his orders.

"Ms Natasha this is Arianna Master's new fiancee and Arianna this is Ms Natasha your personal maid" Max introduce us to each other

"Good morning ma'am nice to meet you" I greeted

"Please call me by my name ma'am, anyways let get you changed already you must be tired.

I was dumbfounded by her loyalty,she calls me ma'am despite her age. I felt shy bieng addressed as ma'am by this old lady.I wouldn't dare to address her by her name it's so disrespectful.

"Have a nice day" says the driver who was heading downstairs after returning my bags.

"You too sir" I replied following the old lady hehind.

After some series of steps on the staircases we finally arrived at the second floor which was a repetition of the of the first floor,every description was thesame but with some little differences.

There was a dinning area at the left end of the living room,also the curtain here was blue in colour but thesame design with the previous one.There is only four section in the second floor,one being the living room,the dinning area and two other rooms with gigantic doors which were locked.

I followed the old lady behind as she walked close to one of the,she opened it and bowed slightly in front of me as a gesture for me to go in,my jaws dropped on seeing how expensively furnished the room was.

There was a king sized bed situated at the far left end of the room with a small shelf situated next to the bed,there was a standing mirror a few metres away from the bed,a big cabinet and a wooden stool was in front of the mirror.

A tall dresser standing at the corner of a door at the right side of the room;which was obviously the bathroom I presume. There was another shelf filled with books and study materials at the right corner of the entrance of the room.

A pink centre rug lied below the chandelier,the whole wall was painted white with no subordinate colour;the light from the chandelier illuminated the whole place bringing its beauty to existence,to crown it all up it was a great view from up there through the window.

"Hope you liked it ma'am" the old lady said with her face buried in the ground

"Are you kidding me? I love it" I replied with a broad smile on my face

"It's a relief to you this from you" she said bowing to me

"you shouldn't be this formal with me,it makes me feel bad" I said hoping to get some positive change from her

"I'm sorry ma'am but I can't be informal with my Master's wife" she says before turning to leave

She stopped but didn't look back at me and says "Please don't hesitate to call out to me if you need anything"

As soon as I entered the room the door slowly closed behind me,I turned to see who it was but there was no one behind me,it must have locked by itself.Despite being alone my mind keeps telling me I wasn't alone; I heard some anonymous sound from inside the the bathroom, I debated on wether I should check it out or not but finally decided to check it out.

I walked into the room in a gentle amble hoping to find someone inside,to be frank I desperately hope to find someone inside to clear my curiosity about this place,but to my disappointment I found no one inside the bathroom rather than my reflection staring back at me in the mirror.

"You shouldn't be this curious on your first day" An anonymous voice said behind me

I almost frozed to death on hearing the voice unexpectedly, I couldn't move my muscles due to the effect of the shock,I turned slowly to see who it was.

I saw a tall and muscular man standing in front of me,he was damn hot and breathe taking,his appearance was a perfect definition of a Demi-God, I couldn't take my eyes of once I had looked into his charming eyes,all my attention was lost in them,but I swear I have seen this face somewhere

2years ago

My head spunned around as my eyesight became blury; I couldn't see a thing, the alcohol was having effect on me very easily since it was my first time of drinking this much and getting drunk,I held a table for support trying to regain my balance while staggering back and forth.

"One more shot please" I beg the bar attender

"I'm sorry ma'am I can't do that you look pretty drunk right now,so I can't take that risk moreover you are here all by yourself" He says refusing to give me one more shot

"Fine, you see that table over there were some group of men are gathered, I will just go over there and ask them to give me some alcohol" I said staggering back and forth

He didn't say a word instead he was famished by my desire to get drunk tonight;well he should be, because I Know I won't be doing this again in a life time, besides this is an Halloween party not a church programme.

As I walked over to the table which was a few steps away from me my heart begin to raise, I felt a sharp pain in my heart all of a sudden, I couldn't bear the pain anymore so I let go and fell down instantly,I let out a loud scream which might have by any chance drew the attention of others.

I saw a man in a black hoodie knelt down next to me and grabbed me from the ground, I couldn't see his face but yet I can sense the dangers in his eyes which were a bit glowy,there was something about his eyes which I couldn't figure out.The Iris were a pair of emerald green,they were so assuring and at thesame time dangerous.

I couldn't hear a thing;it was as if everything was muted, everything plunge into slow motion like as if time itself was running slower,the only person who was moving normally was the anonymous guy in front of me.

"Who the hell are you?" I asked as I pulled his hoodie off his head

He placed his index finger on my forehead causing me to go unconscious.

"My identity doesn't matter mortal woman' he whispered into my ears as my eyes closed gradually
