I Like You, Sunny

Few days had passed, and I still didn't have the courage to face Atlas. I felt like everything was a mess. I was so blinded by jealousy, and it made me toxic. But on the other hand, today is our presentation. I am shivering from panic, but this is one big opportunity that can change my life.

It was announced that the visitors are willing to invest in one of the most promising business idea. That is why I spent my last two days making my business plan promising.

As I mentioned before, I want to build a café near the river where students can mind their own business. Where people can escape reality, well, I'm not gonna lie, our place is pretty outdated. Compared to the city, our place has fewer establishments. We only have two malls; it takes 40 minutes drive by car to go to the nearest mall.

We also have cafes, but they are very simple. You buy coffee, you drink, and you go. I want something more—something extraordinary.

I'll save these thoughts for the presentation later; I'll just think about how I am going to ignore Atlas.

He knows that I ignore him, but I always find him in front of my locker, waiting. And as always, I find myself turning around and avoiding him. It's not easy to see him waiting for me.

I know I don't really have a chance; he might give his answer. And I'm not yet ready to be rejected. I'm scared to be rejected, especially by him. I really liked him, I really do. And I really can't handle a rejection right now.

Maybe I can, but not right now.

'Sun!" Nyx shouted

It was her daily routine to shout my name. The teachers were pissed because of this. One time she screamed in front of a room where Mr. Robin was teaching.

Mr. Robins is one of the most scary, no, how do I describe him?, very terrifying professors in this school. He sent Nyx into detention and gave me a warning. which I don't deserve, right?

"Atlas was looking for you everywhere," she said with a death glare.

"I know." I kept my answer short. I don't want her to get involved in this.

"Can't you just talk to him?" She asked as if she were begging.

"I can't"

"Why?"

"I just can't," she said, and she stopped talking and looked at me seriously and sigh.

The bell rang, and everyone started running to their designated rooms. I looked back at Nyx, and she started walking away. and she didn't wait for me.

I wanted to ask her why, but I remembered that I'm the third to present my business proposal. And I needed to hurry up before I missed my chance.

I rushed down the corridor when someone pulled my hand. It was Atlas, and he was smiling. I looked away and saw Nyx hiding, laughing. It was a trap.

"Sunny," he said in a very low voice.

It was so attractive, but I need to control myself. I stared at him and didn't talk. All I can think is that I'm running late.

I shoved his hand away and walked away. He didn't call me again. He let me get away this time.

"Ms. Dwyers?" our professor called me.

That is when I realized that I was in the middle, presenting for my once-in-a-lifetime experience. and I'm daydreaming.

"Good morning, professor," I started.

"It's 1 p.m.," he said, pointing at the window.

I looked at my watch, and it is 1:28 p.m. I looked at him with embarrassment.

"Are you going to stare at me my whole period?" He asked agitatedly.

and I started

I talked about my plans, my goals, and everything connected to the business. All eyes are on me, and I feel majestic. and I nailed it. I knew I had nailed it.

Soon our class was over, so I decided to go home. It was a long week for me. especially if you are dealing with two problems at a time. I am looking forward to next week's announcement of results.

I saw Nyx walking alone in front of me, so I decided to walk faster so I could keep up with her and talk to her about how she betrayed me earlier. But suddenly someone put their arm on my shoulder and changed our direction.

"What are you doing?" I asked Atlas.

"I'm making sure you can't escape this time," he said with the most annoying smirk. But it is also the most handsome smirk.

He suddenly opened the door of the janitors' room. and pulled me in there.

He closed the door and leant back on it, his hands in the back. I heard the lock, and he locked it.

"Why are you doing this?" I asked, looking directly into his eyes.

"Why are you doing this?" he repeated.

"What do you want?" I asked with a very annoyed tone.

"You," he said, and started walking near me.

My heart was flustered, confused, and happy at the same time. But I mustn't, right? It might be a misunderstanding.

"You can't run away from me after all of this," he added.

He walked closer and closer until I reached the corner of the room. He pinned me; our faces are so close that I can feel his breath. He's looking directly into my eyes.

"You can't run away from me, Sunny," he said, and everything feels new.

Him calling me by my full name and him suddenly confessed like this, in a small janitors room where there are mops and brooms are hanging on the wall.

Everything feels new, like I'm not seeing the Atlas that ran away when I confessed my feelings. All I see is a new side of Atlas. a very manly one, a braver Atlas. who is willing to risk everything.

I pulled myself together. And I was about to talk when he said the words that shocked me.

"I like you, Sunny; I always did."
