Fear, Anger, Jealousy

The fish—I mean human—turned around, and I saw his face.

please not again

It was Atlas Woodson staring at my eyes with a huge, blazing anger.

"It was a mistake, I swear," I said while shaking my head, and I started walking backwards.

He took a step closer to me, and it made my heart tremble with fear. I might have thrown it with full force.

"Does it hurt?" I asked sincerely while avoiding eye contact.

"Does it hurt?!" he repeated sarcastically while scratching his head intensely. He is very angry and agitated at the same time.

"I'm sorry," I uttered, while he looked at me in disbelief.

"Why are you throwing rocks?" He asked calmly if he was ready to listen to my rants. I wanted to vent so badly, but I can't. I can't tell him how I really feel or how jealous I felt when I saw him with that girl. I'm still not sure "who" that girl is. But there is one thing I am very sure about.

"I like you," I said with my head down, but it suddenly hit me. It wasn't on my mind, was it? I said it loudly, didn't I?

I slowly lifted my head. I was staring directly into his beautiful eyes. It was blank for a minute, but suddenly it became confused.

"What?" he asked, full of confusion. He aggressively scratches his neck, and I can see different emotions in him. I see anger and doubt, and he looks puzzled.

"I never meant it that way," I said, looking at him directly. I never wanted this, or for it to get worse.

He raised his eyebrow and I can sense how uncomfortable he is right now.

"I tried to stay away from you. But I can't, so I tried to fight my feelings for you. But it's hard; I can't really control it. "I like you, Atlas Woodson; I have always liked you," I confessed.

Well, I knew it was way too cheesy. But things were not the same with does dramas. It didn't end up him confessing his feelings too. Well, of course, he has a girlfriend. but it didn't end up happening.

IT DIDN'T

I was left alone; Atlas sprinted like he was being chased by a fucking bear or something. He left me there, looking at his shadow slowly fading away.

"Sun!" Nyx's voice echoed in the store. I missed a lot of conversation with her. We were both busy for the upcoming business proposal project. "How have you been?" Girl, I've been so busy with this project of ours. "Yeah, I'm still in the brainstorming phase," she said proudly.

"But that's like 2-3 days from now," I said while pointing at the calendar. "Who cares about stupid deadlines anyways?" she said while grabbing chocolates from the front stand.

"I do," I said, and we both started laughing. Nyx and I have been texting a lot lately, and I've noticed Nyx has become more carefree and confident these past few days. I love her for that.

"What happened between you and Atlas?" she suddenly asked.

"What do you mean?" I asked back.

"I saw you looking at your conversation." Don't try to hide anything; I know you too well," she said in a voice full of authority.

"Nothing, It's just that I confessed that I liked him an-" I wasn't able to finish my sentence when Nyx suddenly started hitting me. "What?!' I grunted

"You confessed? yet you never told me you liked him? "Am I really your friend?" She said and pout

"Of course you are my friend; you always knew that, didn't you?" I said and hugged her tight.

"Really babyloves?" She asked, trying to be cute while pouting, "Of course, my honeybunch, sugarplum pumpy-umpy-umpkin, you're my sweetie pie." I said it in the tone of "You're my Honeybunch," and yes. We both cringed out

We both laughed, and Nyx hugged me too. After everything, I still have someone besides me, and "I'm very lucky to have you, Nyx."

It was 12 at midnight, and Nyx and I decided to go for a walk. We are looking for something to eat. Convenience store foods are not really convenient at all.

"Jillian!" Nyx shouted again. "You love shouting, don't you?" I asked teasingly.

"I do love annoying you," she smirked.

She waved her hands at the girl named Jillian. Jillian started walking near us; I can't properly see her face, but she is white, tall, and has very long brown hair. As she walked towards us, I saw someone at her back. none other than Atlas, again.

When I saw Jillian's face, I felt weird. She's really familiar. Where did I see her? But it hit me: It was Atlas's girlfriend. I can't deny this; she's really, really pretty.

I met Atlas's eyes but he avoided. I won't force him to do anything or even notice me after what happened. He left me there all alone, as if I were some killer clown that he must be afraid of.

Yes, I'm very much angry. not because he didn't like me or anything. I hated that feeling when he left me there. I'm clueless; he can just tell me he had a girl or whatever else he wants to do.

Leaving me all alone is not the best solution.

Nyx elbowed me. I looked at her agitatedly. "What?" I whispered, "Talk to him." She answered while whispering, so I stepped on her foot.

I grabbed Nyx's arm and pulled her away.

"Why did you do that?" She asked while hitting me, "He's with his girlfriend, can't you see that?" I said while pointing in Atlas' direction.

"You really liked him, don't you?" She asked teasingly, "Shut up." I answered and looked away.

"That's his cousin," she said while laughing. "You look cute when you're jealous, Sun," she said and tapped my shoulder.

I looked at her directly in the eyes to see if she was lying. But I can see how happy she looks. "It's not a joke, dumbass." She was his older cousin and she's moving in her for high school"

I looked in their direction and realized how stupid I'd become because of jealousy.
