Chapter 572: Relentless Bombardment
Above the Hall of Stars, Hastur remained silent, his eyes fixed on the starry sky before him with a murderous intensity.
It was no surprise that Adam would strike at him.
What he could not tolerate was Adam's continuous attempts to threaten him by exploiting his humanity.
Adam had even brought him before Gregory, intending for him to witness Gregory being beheaded by the everNight Goddess. This was utterly unforgivable!
Hastur had never been overly concerned about escaping Adam's grasp.
The Hall of Stars, in conjunction with the authority of the stars' alignment, could penetrate even the primordial barriers, let alone Adam's imagined divine kingdom.
When the power of faith gathered from the devout prayers of his followers was sufficient, the Hall of Stars could unleash its might.
As before, under the prayers of Gregory and Roselle, the Hall of Stars could exert power beyond its own sequence.
This time was no exception, and it was even easier than he had anticipated.
If this method failed to free him, he would have Lady Lisa open the golden box. If that still didn't work, he could rely on the Lamp God to wish for his release.
Unfortunately, Adam had neither forced him to open the golden box nor allowed the Lamp God's expectations to come true.
If the Lamp God wanted to complain, let him complain to Adam.
Hastur dismissed these thoughts. When Adam targeted the Lord of Storms, he had already made several arrangements.
He had transported Gregory to the southern continent and sent Sharon, Audrey, Azara, and Susie there as well, eliminating his worries.
Now it was time for his revenge!
The Mother Tree of Desire, the Supernova Dominator, and the Primordial Hunger blocking Adam's path to the Forsaken Land were just the beginning, not even the prelude.
This was merely to prevent Adam from merging with the True Creator prematurely.
After all, even half an old one sounded intimidating, and he wasn't sure if the Hall of Stars could withstand the gaze of a half-old one.
Therefore, his first target was the First Blasphemy Slate within the Giant King's Court.
Now, only the True Creator was watching, and he couldn't withstand the authority of the stars.
"Begin," Hastur said, gazing at the stars where the Mother Tree of Desire, the Supernova Dominator, and the Primordial Hunger resided.
In the Forsaken Land, the people of Silver City had planned to continue exploring the last part of the Giant King's Court. Little Sun Derrick had received an urgent warning from Mr. Fool, instructing them to leave the Giant King's Court immediately and get as far away as possible.
Derrick reported this to the Chief, who, thankfully, did not question the source of the information but followed his advice, leading everyone out of the Giant King's Court.
As they left and returned to Silver City, a flaming sun inexplicably appeared in the dark, lightning-filled sky!
"It's the sun!"
The residents of Silver City knelt in worship, while Derrick stared at the sun, his eyes welling up with tears.
The sun, a sacred entity only known in Silver City's history, had finally descended upon the Forsaken Land today!
Derrick and the others closed their eyes, opened their arms, and felt the warmth of the sun's rays on their bodies.
The warmth felt like hugging a ball of fire.
But this feeling didn't last long as they realized, to their horror, that the sun in the sky was plummeting at an alarming speed!
The entire Forsaken Land was illuminated, and a deep-seated fear made them want to find a place to hide.
"Quick! Return to the city!"
"Leave here now!"
The Chief of Silver City, witnessing this scene, felt his scalp tingle and his face turn pale. He urgently commanded everyone to leave to avoid being caught in the destruction.
That was no ordinary sun; it was a near-apocalyptic divine punishment from the gods!
Derrick panicked and prayed to Mr. Fool for help.
Above the gray fog, Klein, through Derrick's eyes, witnessed the shocking changes in the Forsaken Land, his expression grave.
During a divination above the gray fog, he had inadvertently discovered that the Forsaken Land, where Little Sun was, was about to undergo a dramatic change.
The source of the ominous event was the Giant King's Court, prompting him to warn Little Sun to stop exploring and return to Silver City.
Now, his divination had come true, and the Forsaken Land faced an unprecedented catastrophe.
There was a sliver of hope amidst the disaster, as revealed in his divination.
He speculated that it might be the opportunity for the residents of Silver City to leave the Forsaken Land.
However, he didn't know when or how this hope would manifest.
In response to Little Sun's plea for help, he calmly said, "Every crisis is also an opportunity."
What the crisis was and when the opportunity would appear remained unknown.
Little Sun, always honest and shy, did not press Mr. Fool for more details.
After addressing Little Sun's concerns, Klein focused intently on the Forsaken Land.
Was that falling sun the Eternal Blazing Sun?
But it didn't quite look like it. It seemed more like divine punishment from the Eternal Blazing Sun, a holy sun set to burn everything.
The rapidly descending sun aimed at the Giant King's Court.
The once grand and magnificent Giant King's Court now appeared insignificant under the sun.
It was like a basketball smashing into a model building the size of a fist.
The model building would undoubtedly be pulverized by the basketball.
At that moment, a massive black cross materialized, standing between the Giant King's Court and the sun.
On the black sea and mountains, the enormous black cross opened the shadow curtain, lifting the golden sun and preventing it from descending further.
The True Creator!
Klein instantly recognized the hidden entity represented by the black cross.
Was the Forsaken Land's disaster over?
Just as Klein was about to breathe a sigh of relief, he noticed the dark, lightning-filled sky of the Forsaken Land was now completely illuminated, as bright as day.
One sun, two suns, three suns... Suns, not much smaller than the first, rapidly and forcefully descended towards the Giant King's Court!
Even as an observer, Klein felt a suffocating pressure from the depths of his soul.
What he thought was a single solar strike turned out to be a barrage of solar rain.
This was impossible to withstand!
One sun after another struck the black curtain upheld by the black cross, causing it to crack and eventually shatter, exposing the defenseless Giant King's Court to the relentless suns.
The golden suns, filled with vengeful flames, bombarded the Giant King's Court one after another.
Amidst the blinding light, even with the gray fog's isolation, Klein couldn't see clearly. He could only vaguely make out the sealed gate of the Giant King's Court being blasted open.
On the throne within the palace sat a sleeping Giant King.
Before him lay a slate, its details obscured.
Who was that?
What was that slate?
...
In the Giant King's Court, the Dark Angel Sasriel awoke from an ancient slumber, his eyelids, unmoved for years, slowly opening to the sight of the descending suns.
The blinding light displeased him greatly.
He instinctively manipulated the First Blasphemy Slate before him, raising it above his head to draw thin power from the Sea of Chaos, forcibly transforming the bright environment into a dark realm.
The familiar darkness restored some of his tranquility.
But this peace lasted only a moment as new suns illuminated everything once more.
The intense impact from the Blasphemy Slate shattered his throne and the palace's already open lid.
Sasriel sensed a familiar presence approaching, a massive black cross supporting the Blasphemy Slate, sharing the burden of the cosmic pressure.
At that moment, a figure of light emerged from the exploding sun, his right hand touching the edge of the Blasphemy Slate.
The True Creator's brass-colored eyes opened behind the black shadow curtain, freezing the space.
The Blasphemy Slate connected to the Sea of Chaos, preventing the figure of light from taking it.
"This thing is important to you, isn't it?" the figure of light chuckled. "That makes it worth taking."
