An Encounter

"What do you want now?" Axel said looking at both Gem and Sinn, "If this is about the girl she's fine, she's unconscious because she wants to be."

"Really?" Sinn asked, "Why would anyone want to be unconscious?" 

"This way I don't have control of her, she's growing stubborn and I don't want her getting in my way," Axel said angrily.

"You've brought this upon yourself, Axel," Gem said standing in front of him. 

"Oh?" he looked up at Gem and instantly knew what she had meant, "I see you have made up your mind but answer me this Gem, how will you defeat me when you're powerless?" Axel asked while smirking.

Sinn thought to himself she knew he would ask this and honestly I have the same question, it's pretty obvious that Gem feeds power off of Karma so she doesn't get too powerful but it definitely won't be enough to take on Axel. Sinn looked at Gem who was determined but determination alone would only get her killed, not to mention her injuries from before still hadn't healed. 

"Answer me Gem, what is a feeder shinigami going to do to me?" Axel taunted her, "Feeders have no fighting abilities plus you don't look so good. My guess is you haven't eaten in quite some time," 

"Gem let's just go already," Sinn said putting a hand on Gem's shoulder, she quickly shook it off and left the two alone.

"I don't understand why you care about humans so much," Axel said. "you do understand that your human is the reason why we've been thrown in this loop for so long," 

"I get that but I no longer harbour a grudge against her, it's been centuries," Sinn told Axel. "and think of Gem, ever since we've been transformed she's been with her. Watching her be born, live and then die over and over again,"

"I thought she was just around her to plot her murder," Axel said.

"Well yeah at first but now it's obvious to see that she cares for her," Sinn said, "After all that time together there's no doubt that she would care for her sooner or later," 

"Do you not hold a grudge against her any longer?" Axel asked Sinn with one eyebrow raised.

"I can't say I don't but honestly I've accepted it, what happened all those years ago no longer matters to me right now. I don't love my life but I don't hate it either, I'm content with Kaname he might be a stubborn, snobby kid but he makes this generation bearable,"

"In other words, you enjoy being with your human," Axel summed up his words.

"Yeah, you should start treating Kami better or else she'll start to rebel and when she does you'll both go down. Remember Axel, time won't kill you but while you're attached to Kami it'll be like you have a human body. Death may be inevitable if you keep acting the way you are," 

"I don't need to be lectured by you of all people Sinn after all you've always been a crazed lunatic, in living and now in decaying," Axel said angrily. 

"It wasn't a lecture but a warning, Kami has always been the strongest of the 3 and you should know that,"

"That human is nothing but second-best in everything," Axel said.

"Not actually, mentally she needs work but physically she out-classes both of them, not to mention how stubborn she is," 

"Don't be ridiculous, she's no better than the regular people," Axel said as Sinn sighs.

"I'm telling you Axel if you don't recognize her worth sooner rather than later it could spell the worse for you," 

"Just get going Sinn," Axel dismissed him and Sinn once again sighed and left. 

"He's right you know," Kamiya said to Axel, Kamiya appeared almost as if she was a ghost and she had her arms folded.

"Shut up," Axel said as he tried to swat her away which distorted her appearance but quickly 

"Although he was wrong about one thing, whether you recognize me or not I will kill you,"

"Don't be stupid, you know you can't beat me in a one on one fight,"

"You're right about that but that doesn't mean you can afford to get cocky," Kamiya said as she disappeared with a smirk on her face.

"Stupid child, don't bite off more than you can chew," Axel said softly.

With Karma and Kaname

"But why?" I asked Kaname, I didn't understand why they would want to kill Axel. Don't they know the emotional strain it would bring Kami, not only that but the disconnect from the two would definitely put a strain on both her mental and physical.

"Why else? We already all know that Kami has been controlled by Axel from a young age," Kaname said. "Heck even Father knows about it but since it produces results he no longer cares," 

"Father knew?"

"Of course he did, matter of fact he was the last to notice," Kaname said with anger, "father of the year, am I right?"

"Kaname ho-" I was cut off by Gem coming back to my side, my attention quickly shifted to ask her what happened.

"Nothing," Gem said knowing what I would ask.

"So you didn't kill him huh? What a surprise," Kaname said sarcastically. 

"Hey Kaname, calm down," I said.

"Whatever, I'm going out,"

"Out where?" 

"I'll be back don't worry," Kaname said as he left. I turned back to Gem wondering what happened there.

"Gem?" I said knowing I had to choose the right words because she was upset, I could sense it. "Did you see Kami?" I asked hoping she would at least tell me that.

"She wasn't there," Gem said coldly.

"Did Axel say anything about her condition?" 

"It wasn't his doing this time, Kami has trapped herself in a coma making it impossible for her or Axel to make the body move," 

"I see, did Axel say anything to you?" I asked Gem as she stayed silent. "So he did no wonder you're so upset," Gem still stayed silent, I looked at her and sighed after that Gem took off without saying anything. I wanted to call out to her but when she's like this she won't say anything about how she's feeling. All I could do now is stay by Kami's side.
