Eric was working in his office when he received a package addressed to him. To say he was surprised would be an understatement, as he had expected anything but his.

He was enraged, depressed, and perplexed all at the same time. He never imagined Miranda would actually send him the divorce papers. Yes, she was pissed at him, and he completely understood her reaction after the trick he played on her.

He wanted to talk to her again, but he gave her some time to cool off. But certainly, that didn't help his case, as she went ahead and sent him the divorce papers.

He called Nancy, his secretary, and cancelled all of his meetings before going to meet Miranda at the orphanage, but she was not there. She left early for home, which was unusual for her.
