Chapter 13 Arcade

I didn't know that Asher had this side of him. In school, all highly respect him because he shows good leadership. He can tame naughty students, admired him for being responsible president not just because of his looks and all. But seeing him know made me shocked. That his sister can break his wall and made him gentle and soft.

"Frida, this will be the menu I'm planning to bake," Sam showed the content of the folder and explained the plan. They also asked Asher and me for suggestions. It took an hour to finish discussing the proposal and basing on Frida's expression made her looks satisfied.

"I like it. I didn't regret that I chose you," Frida gladly stated.

"Well, basic!" Sam jokingly said. " I didn't expect that we can be finished this fast. Do you have some plans after this?"

"Nothing."

"If I don't mind, let's watch movies. They said that the showing movies were good and worth paying," I looked at Asher and still don't mind what's happening. Sam persuaded us and we all agreed after eating.

We all went to the third floor. Frida and Sam chose what to watch while Asher and I went to buy popcorn and drinks for us.

"Are you not bothered what kind of movie will your sister pick? What if romance?" I suddenly asked while waiting for the last two remaining drinks.

"I won't win in an argument with my sister. I was used to it. How about you?" he's holding the two popcorn.

"I don't mind." When they gave all our orders, we hurriedly back. We saw Frida and Sam talking to each other near the entrance, enough not blocking the entrance but when they saw us, they entered and the two of us followed.

Sam sat beside Frida and I'm next to sit beside Frida. When Sam didn't want to sit her brother beside her, Asher have no choice but to sit beside me. I chuckled a bit because they look like dog and cat siblings.

"Don't mind my sister," he mumbled and gave to us our drinks and popcorn.

"Thank you," Frida said.

The show has already begun. It's like I can't swallow the popcorn I'm eating because I'm nervous. I shouldn't be nervous because my sister is here and it seems like Asher doesn't mind seating each next together. I can't help but fight my nervousness. So maybe, I'm nervous because of what ideas are going through my mind, how I'm going to answer the questions of why I'm with Asher and his sister when someone saw us.

Sometimes I notice Sam and even my sister looking in our direction. Asher and I also met our eyes. But sometimes we are just surprised by Sam who laughs out loud with Frida when there is a funny scene in the show. They also cry in the middle. Even if the scene is tearful, I can't cry not laugh. In the end, I didn't understand the flow of the story because my brain was occupied with everything.

After watching a movie, we went to the arcade games and amusement that's when I noticed that I was no longer nervous and awkward. It's funny to think that we're the same age and just a gimmick of a group of friends. My sister doesn't seem to get married and Sam doesn't seem to be a businessman.

I joined and it's my sister treat to pay for the coins we needed.

We all played. Sam complained when she saw that I'm the first rank, not his brother.

"I didn't know that someone like you can beat my brother's score," Sam commented. "Did you always went here?"

I shrugged off and I rarely had time to went here. "Huh, Asher. Don't cry over this. I know you love this arcade game."

I slightly chuckled upon watching Sam pissing of her brother.

We played many games and we have a lot of fun. After that, we went to the other side and the tempo of the dance song stand out which attracts viewers. Sam held his brother's hand. My sister and I followed.

There was a group of students like me because they look familiar. They are in another strand from a lower grade. They enjoy dancing while laughing with each other.

"Don't tell me, Sam, that we will dance. Are you dead serious? I tell you, my answer is no," Asher complained to his sister.

"Pretty please, my little brother," Sam acted pretty cute puppy.

"Are you okay if we dance?" Frida asked me and I nodded. This time I want to dance not minding what others might think even though inside of me was pondering if I will or not.

When the group of girls was done, we went to the mini-stage good for four dancers. Sam and Frida position themselves in front while Asher and I were at the back.

"Go, Mr President," the group of girls in our school cheered on Asher and he suddenly felt embarrassed because he was scratching his back.

"This is a bad idea," Asher said. I didn't know what made Sam persuade him to go with the dancing gimmick.

"Let's just have fun," I answered. A piece of lively music started and Frida started to follow the dance step flashing on the screen. The mechanics of Just dance was to follow the steps on the screen and we are getting points on how we dance. Frida and Sam stand out and I can say that Sam was a good dancer.

Asher even did his best and I can't expect that he's even a great dancer than I was.

I heard people cheering on us that attract viewers. The viewers were clapping and laughing with joy at Asher when a sexy dance was only needed to follow. Knowing his personality, he would decline and stop dancing but to my surprise, he did it great and his points made him on top while the three of us are the backup.

The last step was we lined up straight and do a post like we won a pageant. The viewers kept on clapping and cheering on us.

"Mr President, you are so damn gorgeous," a girl in pick shouted and other viewers looked at him asking who is the president she talking about.

"Notice your fans," I teased him. He rolled his eyes as an answer and I can't help but laugh.

All in all, the more than five minutes mash-up dance was breathtaking and tiring but when our score appears on the screen made Sam scream. We just got excellent.

"Thank you for watching," she proudly said.

The staff of the arcade went near us and invited us to the counter to sign the receipt of the prize we received. Sam signed it and the staff handled the stuffed toy.

"Thank you," Sam said with a big smile. All I thought was our journey in the arcade was done but Frida lead the way going to the karaoke room.

We picked our preferred song number in the songbook and entered the number.

I had a lot of fun. This short vacation was the best vacation I ever had. This is the first time not spending the whole vacation staying at home. I'm grateful to Frida to let me experience what fun is.

For the sake of this day, I decided to sing as well though the music doesn't love me back. When Asher was singing, I suddenly felt butterflies in my stomach. Asher's voice of singing was not like what others expected. His voice was just average but enough to let me feel that he was sincere in every lyric he uttered.

Around 7 o'clock when we decided to go to the food court and grab dinner.

"After this, we need to go home. How about you?" Frida asked Sam.

"We will be dropped by in the dessert shop."

"I see."

"What's your order?" and we give them our order.

The mall is still crowded even at night. Maybe, because there was a little vacation for the students.

After eating, we decided to separate ways. Sam and Asher went to their shop and Frida and I headed to the parking lot. I was about to get in the car when Asher called me. he was panting and sweating from running while holding the stuffed toy we get as a prize.

"Sam decided to give you this," Asher handed me the almost life-sized stuffed toy. My eyes widened and I didn't expect that it will be given to me but I declined. Frida didn't barge in and just went inside her car. "No, it's okay."

"But all of us danced," I kept on declining.

"Sam will get mad at me if you won't accept it," he stammered like he was uncomfortable telling his statement and forcefully smiled.

I smiled at him to make him at ease and gladly accept the stuffed toy. "You are now the mother."

"Yeah, I know." I put the stuffed toy in the back.

"Thanks," we both bid our goodbyes. Asher waited for me to enter the car beside Frida before he turned back to the mall.

I was smiling from ear to ear looking at the stuffed toy sitting at the back. The colour is cream and I love the colour pink in her head.

Frida started the engine and drove.

"Is he the guy that mom referring to the other day? The one she mistook as your boyfriend?" Frida asked breaking the silence between us. I looked at her but she was keenly looking in front.

"Yeah, he was," I comfortably said. We not might be very close and have different personalities but I can say that she understands me in some ways.

"He was a nice man."

"He was."

"Do you like him?" she straightforward inquired. I looked at her in disbelief. Am I really obvious? "Liking someone was normal. Liking someone or loving someone is a risk. It was like you are opening a door for possibilities."
