Houses and Complaining

They arrived in front of Wenmin's house around noon. All the wedding stuff that was bought would be stored in Wenmin's house first while Jiahao will be preparing the dowry by himself. Wenmin was worried about the price of the dowry as Jiahao gave him 50 taels already, would he have enough money to prepare the dowry? Should I give back the money to him?

Jiahao knew what's going on inside his head and reassured him that he has more than enough money. "The important thing that we have to worry about now is the house. Should we build a new house or live in either one of ours?" Said Jiahao. Well, that is more important.

"It'll take some time to build a new house. Why don't we wait for a while and live in my house? It was renovated before my ama died" suggest Wenmin. Jiahao agreed, it'll take a long time for the house to complete while his house hasn't been taken care of for a long time, especially when his 'loving' relatives lived in it before.

They settled with living in Wenmin's house first. Jiahao wanted to give his house to Shihuang, it'll save more money and Shihuang doesn't need to live with him after his marriage with Wenmin. Plus, looking at how Shihuang and Xinyi is, it's not long for him to tie a knot too.

When they were passing by the villagers in the field, the big and small things on their bodies attracted a lot of attention. Coupled with Chen Jiahao's assistance on carrying the stuffs, the villagers started to guess a lot. Seeing how close the two were, maybe there will be a ceremony in the village.

The villagers were boiling with the thought of these two young people getting married. Although their thoughts are on spot, there were some people who were dissatisfied with it. Especially Li Wenmin's natal family and Chen Jiahao's aunt and uncle.

These things were unknown by Wenmin, Jiahao and Aunt Bao who were busy arranging and discussing about the wedding. Jiahao excused himself and left Wenmin's house. His departure ease Wenmin's stiff muscles a lot.

Aunt Bao laughed at him for being too stiff. He just smiled wryly. It's not his fault ah. It was his first time marrying in two lifetimes, the target of his marriage is also a man. He would have never thought that he would get married one day.

Jiahao walked along the road, he met a few villagers. Some of them asked him about the things that Wenmin bought directly and some of them were asking about marriage.

Among them, Li Wenmin's aunt was there with his ger son. She was jealous when she heard the rumour, even though nothing has been said yet, but it still made people feel uncomfortable.

"Impossible, how can an abandoned ger have that much luck ah? Look, even strange man coming and going using the word business. How easy can it be?" Aunt Chen Er, Li Wenmin's second uncle's wife, said suddenly.

When Jiahao heard that, he automatically look at Aunt Chen Er's face, straight into her eyes. He recognised all Aunt Yingyue's family, he checked them out since he decided to marry Wenmin. This second family has always been jumping around and taking Aunt Yingyue's money.

On the day of Wenmin's separation, he also inquired about it with Uncle Yichen. He knows that the second son's family was the one who keep on trying to get the money while the first uncle only chimed in once a while without helping Wenmin. What a good family they are.

He also got the true story that the newly built house of Grandpa Chen was built using the money that Aunt Yingyue sent to Grandma Chen. How filial piety was misused by the family.

Thus, when Jiahao heard that sentence, he already targeted the entire family. "Ah, if it isn't Aunt Chen Er. I don't think it's impossible for Wenmin to have such a luck since he is so hardworking. I think it's more impossible for a son and a ger who has never worked in the farm to dream about marrying anyone ne?"

The villagers who were surrounding Jiahao went silent the moment they heard Jiahao's reply. They've never heard Jiahao talked this long before, much less this sharp.

They all looked at Chen Er's wife in unison, some with scrutiny, some with confusion. Why is this aunt not backing her nephew? Yes they are separated but it is still her nephew.

Chen Xixi, the ger son, went red when he heard this. He was one of the gers and daughters who admired Shihuang and Jiahao when they first entered the village. He also heard that Jiahao and Shihuang went to Wenmin's house a few times.

He was also dissatisfied with the rumours and also wanted to refute them. But listening to Jiahao's reply really embarrassed him. How did he know that he has never farmed? Everyone knows that Wenmin is the one who has been farming alongside his uncles and his ama since he was young.

Chen Xixi kept on pulling his mother's shirt, begging her to shut up and get out of this situation. "Do you think only you are sober while everyone is drunk? To say that Wenmin ge'er is unlucky and all." A slap can be felt on the mother and son duo's face.

They quickly ran away, Jiahao only looked at them with a smirk on his face. The people who were dissatisfied with the rumours went silent and didn't dare to voice out. Jiahao nodded and excused himself.

He decided to go to Lady Hao's house tomorrow to asked her to come and propose to Wenmin officially tomorrow. He must also tell Aunt Bao, Wenmin and Xinyi ge'er so they can make the necessary preparations.

The next day, Jiahao went to town with his horse while Shihuang went farming. He arrived at Lady Hao's gate really early. Since he decided to work for her, it's better to be early to get the job done early too.

The housekeeper opened the door and let Jiahao enter. He was taken to the dining room, there was Lady Hao sitting with breakfast and tea on the table. "Come boy, eat breakfast first."

Jiahao wasn't polite. He sat down and ate his breakfast. Done eating, while waiting for the table to clear up and the carriage to be ready, he and Lady Hao took a walk in the courtyard first.

"Lady Hao, I would like you to propose to Wenmin as soon as possible. Some villagers are trying to make trouble when they see me and Wenmin together now." Jiahao half complaint and half urging the matchmaker.

She was dumbfounded, she has never seen Jiahao complain before. "Aiya if you're in a hurry to marry then let me come the day after tomorrow. Go prepare the necessary things and tell Wenmin ge'er too. Don't embarrassed him." she said.

They entered the carriage and headed to the county. The town and the county was not very far. It too around 1 hour to arrive.

When they arrive at the county town, Lady Hao brought Jiahao to buy all the necessary dowries and whatnot. Since Wenmin had already bought them yesterday, he also has to do it on his side.

Lady Hao also went to the market to search for a pair of geese. It is said that the pair of male and female geese is the symbol of loyalty and eternal love as geese will only have one female/male in their life.

Once they all everything is complete, they went to a cloth shop. Yes, even though Wenmin already bought the wedding cloth, however, Wenmin's daily clothing is just normal cotton.

a/n: Jiahao splurge his money like some billionaire in Dubai. Well, at least he has the money to do so.

After all that spending, it was already noon. They decided to eat at a restaurant. There was a branch of Rainbow Pavilion in the county town.

When they entered, the shopkeeper recognised Lady Hao as one of their distinguished guests and quickly reported to Young Master Liu who was, eventually, making his rounds in all of his restaurants.

When he heard that Lady Hao was here with a young man, he decided to especially serve her. They did had a little bit of relationship since Lady Hao was the matchmaker between his parents.

When he went to serve the table, he saw Lady Hao and the man from Chen Village. He already got the report on Chen Jiahao. He knew a everything about him but he was confused why such a strong and powerful person rejected the capital city just to come back to his dilapidated hometown.
