Living as Rick in The Walking Dead

Watching the walking dead and Jaron has a heart attack, luckily or unluckily he gets transported into Rick Grime’s body when he wakes up in the hospital. Going under the guise as having amnesia he’ll follow the story and make different decisions based on his future knowledge. How will making those decisions influence the story later though? AN: read a reborn as Rick fic recently but they haven’t updated in a while so I figured I’d do my own. Nothing special, I just like walking dead.

Old McDonald wants a farm

After showing Shane my trailer he finally took me to introduce me to the rest of the group. I was surprised however, there were the same amount as from the show except for Sophia not being gone and Jim being there. And Amy but I already knew she was still here, but I was just surprised that practically the exact same group is all that was here.

From what I understand though it's still just as likely that someone like Merle and Jackie are still alive. They got separated from the rest of the scavenger group inside Atlanta, but they never made it back to the quarry.

"So where are y'all heading now then?" I spoke up sitting around the small fire with Shane, Lori and Glenn on my left while Andrea, Amy, Dale and Jim filled in the right side. Daryl was keeping watching and Tdog, Carl, Carol and Sophia had already went to sleep. The moon was high into the sky and I knew we needed to get rest as well, but i surprised myself how much I was enjoying just this casual conversation with others.

I guess even I needed some social interaction after a month on my own, and it helped ease the guilt I felt for Morgan and Duane. They hasn't been the only people I had had to kill in that month long span, but they were definitely the most impactful.

"We are on our way to fort Benning. It's the closest base to us that's still a good distance from the city and we need to get away from the city." Shane spoke up as he passed me a map of Georgia with the path to Fort Benning marked.

"Because the walkers are leaving the city?" I asked in return and got an awkward silence.

"What?" I asked looking up from the map.

"Walkers? Haha I guess it's better than Geeks." Shane responded with a chuckle and I see small grins on the others faces.

"Just seemed fitting." I shrugged as I looked back down at the map and let out a sigh as I folded it and handed back.

"I don't think we should to Fort Benning." I said and allowed a pause for them to process what I said. Each one looked confused and looked to the other before ending on Shane and me.

"And why do you say that? Surely the military can help us." He finally speaks up, his gaze wasn't as distrustful as I had expected it to be. Maybe things really are good between us?

"Because it won't just be people like us flocking to an Army base. Doe eyed and good intentioned. The… bad kind as well will be looking for safety in such a place and all it takes is enough of the bad kind and you no longer have a military base but rather a mercenary camp. Strongest rule and the weakest serve with no choice in the matter.

There aren't police in this world, no military or government to protect us from the evil in the world anymore. Truthfully I think this group size is perfect for us to hunker down and establish ourselves, then we can screen and gather new members after, but we need a safe location." I finish and gaze around the campfire as they all think on my words and I can feel Shane's eyes locked on to me.

"Why would the military stop protecting us though! It's their job isn't it?" Glenn spoke first and I didn't miss Shane's look growing serious as he answered.

"Most of the ones that are likely in the base are the ones left behind while the rest got called to Atlanta. Meaning either injured troops, lower ranks and maybe one or two higher ranks to run things. Sure maybe deployed troops make their way back to base to help defend it, but after seeing Atlanta I think we can all agree it wouldn't be many." I nodded at his words and scooted closer to the fire so that my face was lit by the flames.

"That's why I say we establish our place, our own safe haven. Get a foundation set under us so that we can branch off to different places and not get caught out in the open." I say letting a silence hang in the air before Dale spoke up.

"Well son you sure talk a big game, but where are we going to find such a place." Jim nodded alongside him.

"It's a good plan, but it sounds like a pipe dream and the old RV ain't got much life left in her." I nodded at their words and motioned for the map from Shane again. I held it against my chest so that it was illuminated by the fire and followed their mark until their was a turn off. I circled the area with my finger and smiled.

"This area right here is all farmland, at least 4 or 5 farms only separated by about half to full mile of woods each, some closer than that. There's also a prison nearby that should have a stash of food, and more supplies along with a weapons cache for the guards." Andrea is the one to chime in this time.

"Wouldn't the prison be a safer place? Surely it's fenced in and would be easier to defend than open farmland?" I nodded at words seriously as I folded the map back up.

"It would definitely be the easier to defend, but also with limited potential compared to the farmlands. The farms would definitely take a lot and I do mean a fucking lot of work, but they would be worth it. As for why not the prison? Truthfully because I know I don't want to live in such a place, and I'm sure you all don't either.

However that's not to say it's going to just be left alone. We could always use it as a place to fall back on. That's why part of our job while building up the farmlands would be taking out any and all walkers inside the prison while leaving any that outside still intact, so any other people that happen across it won't try and take it over."

"How do you know walkers are going to be in there? Wouldn't the guards have let out all the prisoners when things went bad?" Amy asked from beside me and I nodded. Though inwardly I was sweating a little as I realized I almost slipped up in showing that I knew so much.

"I'm operating under the worst case scenario for all of this, Ah well I guess the true worst case would be another larger group already took over the prison, but I like stay at least a little optimistic." I responded to her and she just nodded looking back into the fire before letting out a yawn that seemed to get the others right after so I stood up.

"Well we should all probably try to get some sleep. I'll take the next watch, so the rest of you feel free to rest up." They all nodded and stood up heading to their various vehicles and made my way to Dale's rv where I climbed up to see Darryl sitting in a chair eyeing me as I came up.

"Here to swap if you're wanting some sleep." I said as I made it to the top and sat down in another open chair.

"You believe in all what you said down there?" He asked me, not moving from his seat and his crossbow propped against his knee.

"I do. It will be difficult and everyone will have to pull their weight, but it's possible." He didn't respond, but he gave a stiff nod in return and he stood up making his way to the ladder before turning back.

"There's something off about you and I don't know what it is and I don't particularly care, so I'll let it go since you helped us out today. You keep us on the right track and I'll have your back, but if not I'm loading up on my bike and looking for my brother."

"Why don't you go search for him now, or rather why haven't you already?" I asked as just his head was left above the lip of the rv.

"Why did it take you a month after waking up from your coma to find your family? We have our reasons." I stared at the spot where his head dipped into the darkness before sighing and nodding to myself. He's not wrong, I guess I forgot how strained his and Merle's brotherly bond was. The sounds of something climbing the ladder got my attention as a set of blonde hair poked up revealing Amy.

She smiled brightly as she looked at me though with a bit of bashfulness to it as she hoisted herself up and on to the roof. Walking to the chair beside me she swayed her hips and watched me out of the corner of her eye and I had to hold in my laugh at her antics. Though I can't deny that I didn't like the view, however obscured it was by the nighttime.

She took the open chair beside me and wriggled in it as she got comfortable and then smiled at me.

"I just wanted to thank you again for earlier. I don't know what we would have done had you not come along." She said quickly while batting her eyes before turning away when I looked back at her. She kept glancing from the corner of her eye before she turned fully toward me and kept a small smile.

"I just did what I felt was right. Wouldn't have been able to let 2 beautiful women get eaten right in front of me." Her cheeks blushed slightly almost highlighting her face in the moonlight and something about it caused a desire to rise up just below the waist, but I ignored it. I guess it had been at least a few months since this body had last seen any action, not even my own past life where it had definitely been quite but longer than that.

However I wasn't going to just get with this girl right here on top of the rv where my son, Lori, Carol and Sophia are sleeping. Though I can imagine people from my past life writing such a scene in a fanfiction. I had to shake my head as for some reason the thought of that was causing the sensation to come roaring back. I looked to see Amy staring at me with me a smile before she stood up and walked over to me and bent over, placing her lips near my ear. Her hand rested on my stomach before sliding down to the tent in my pants and she held it firmly before whispering.

"Come find me after your watch." She went to raise back up, but I caught he which caused her to let out a small squeak as I placed my key to my rv in her hand and the other snakes down her back before massaging a palm full of her ass. Her eyes widen and cheeks flush, but I keep her eye level with me and lean in myself.

"Are you sure about this? You just met me today after all." She laughed quietly and whispered back.

"I'm horny, not stupid." I smirked at this and after giving her ass one last squeeze I let her go and she stood up. She walked to the ladder with the same swaying stride while looking over her shoulder at me, smiling as she watched my gaze follow her hips. She bent over at waist grab the handles of the ladder and I admired her flexibility as her eventually dipped down below the roof. I groaned because of the tightness of my pants at this moment and cursed myself for taking the next watch.

Finally updated again, apologies for that. From being sick to work being shitty just hadn't had the time. Now we're finally at the part I'm sure a lot of you have been waiting for but I'm still going to ask it.

Lemons or no lemons? Sex scenes or no sex scenes? I'm truthfully fine either way and if we do decide on lemons it still won't be like some fics where it's every chapter or even every other chapter. Also just want to say that just because he's going to be fucking Amy doesn't mean that she's his "love interest". Truthfully I think that kind of stuff is dumb especially in an apocalypse, so he'll probably have multiple partners throughout the story, but none of them are going to be like the main girlfriend unless people just really want that.

Because while I don't want to write a harem I still feel like hookups would happen quite frequently with such a limited pool of potential suitors, ya know?

Anyways next chapter will either be half and lemon and making it to the farm, or all farm and meeting the Greene's. (Yes Maggie can be in a lemon in the future, but I'm just surprised so many people like her)
