We're Finally Selling

Liu Xiaolan and Mu Yuchen walked past the city's streets, slowly trailing towards Liujia's Wood Workshop.

Although Liu Xiaolan was still a little out of breath after walking for so long, she was slowly starting to recover her energy while looking at the crowds passing them.

"Little fool, if we can sell our chestnuts for a good price today, we might be able to get a new house soon…" She said with small stars in her eyes.

Mu Yuchen after spending some time with Liu Xiaolan already knew that she likes money over other things, but he himself was still happy hearing her speaking about a new house. After all, the current building they live in shouldn't even be called anything close to a home.

He smiled towards her and said, "Lady doesn't need to worry. With lady's cooking we can for sure sell everything the lady prepared."

Liu Xiaolan didn't say anything, but was secretly happy inside her mind. After spending more time with the little fool in the last days, she slowly accepted the fact that he's going to be her partner in this life and no longer treats him as an outsider.

A few minutes later, they've finally made it to Liu Jiahao's store. "We're here, little fool. Let's prepare quickly…"

Liu Xiaolan said as she looked at the people passing by the shop. Although they left their village early in the morning, it took them quite some time to get here. Most people in Shenyang are already on their feet, and most of them already went to their jobs.

If she doesn't hurry and set up her own stall, she might miss the best time for her sales.

Mu Yuchen followed after her inside Liujia's Wood Workshop and soon they were noticed by Shopkeeper Liu. "Little girl, you're here."

"Yes, Uncle Liu. Sorry for bothering you…"

"It's alright, your things are in the room on the back. If you're tired you guys can first go and take a break back there before setting your stall…" Liu Jiahao said while looking at Liu Xiaolan.

Liu Xiaolan smiled and thanked him. "We still need to prepare before we can put the stall outside, thank you Uncle Liu."

Mu Yuchen held the sacks with chestnuts and they went to the room. Once inside, Liu Xiaolan quickly looked at her stall and said, "We need to quickly separate our chestnuts into portions."

She pointed towards the small buckets and said, "Just fill them up with the product. But don't make it too full, otherwise people won't be able to carry them without losing a few on the road."

Mu Yuchen quickly went into action and filled the first small bucket. "Is this alright, lady?"

"Yes, that's perfect. Fill them all with a similar amount of chestnuts." Liu Xiaolan answered, while she started moving the already filled bucket onto their movable stall.

A few minutes later, all the chestnuts were divided into the buckets and the only thing left to do was to push the stall outside the shop and wait for customers to come.

Liu Jiahao noticed their movement and said, "You're ready to set up your little shop, girl Liu? Do you need some help?"

"It's fine, Uncle Liu." She said while following after Mu Yuchen. "We're alright, hopefully we can start selling soon."

Shopkeeper Liu agreed with her and wished her good luck. After all, their stall doing well is also a good thing for himself. Otherwise, if it turns out that Liu Xiaolan and Mu Yuchen's stall can't bring any customers, wouldn't he need to think of another way to bring new people to his wood workshop?

"Alright, here is fine, little fool." Liu Xiaolan said with satisfaction as she commanded Mu Yuchen where to move their stall.

Once everything was set, Liu Xiaolan and Mu Yuchen sat down on their wooden stools and waited for customers. Unfortunately for her, it seems like nobody was interested in them.

Unfortunately, even in this era most people weren't literate. Even inside Shenyang, the customer group she wants to target aren't nobles or scholars, so just writing down their business on a banner wouldn't help much.

Liu Xiaolan felt that waiting without end wouldn't change anything, so they could only try shouting and bringing some customers in that way.

"Little fool, you've got a louder voice than I do. Quickly shout that we're selling chestnuts to take away on the road…" She said towards Mu Yuchen.

Mu Yuchen looked at Liu Xiaolan, a little helpless. Isn't it a little shameful to shout on the streets for people to come over?

With a sigh he stood up and took a deep breath. "Fried chestnuts with spices for sale! You can eat them right now or take home for your family to have a taste!"

Some people did hear his shout and looked towards them, but nobody seemed to be interested in coming over.

After all, Liu Xiaolan and Mu Yuchen were new in the business on this street.

Although there aren't any restaurants on this street, there are still 2 other stalls with snacks nearby, that were here selling their food for years now.

Even if Liu Xiaolan cooked a modern style dish right now, people would be reluctant to be the first ones to test if her food is good. Not to mention that she's selling a low grade product like chestnuts right now.

They might taste good after she cooked them, but none of them knew that!

Liu Xiaolan's face was looking a little worse by now, but she still didn't give up her hopes that someone would come and buy their chestnuts.

With no other choice, she could only ask Mu Yuchen to shout that they're selling from time to time, hoping that once a single person buys from them, others will soon follow.

No matter what, this street still has a large amount of traffic each day, and the amount of people passing by is huge. Once they can get a stable position here, selling all of their stuff and earning money shouldn't be too hard.

As I said before, today I'll upload 3 chapters. Same as tomorrow.
