Having trouble blending in

Gu Jiu Si slowly opened his eyes, expecting to see darkness and nothingness, only to be met with the blinding light of an unfamiliar room. Confusion washed over him like a tidal wave as he realized he was alive but trapped within the confines of another person's body.

"How could this be?" Gu Jiu Si said, puzzled.

He had vividly believed he had journeyed into the realm of the afterlife.

His soul was already damaged and about to extinguish, so how come he was alive? Gu Jiu Si couldn't believe what was happening to him.

As his senses slowly acclimated to the disorienting surroundings, Gu Jiu Si struggled to make sense of his newfound predicament. Everything felt alien, as though he had been thrust into an unknown world against his wishes.

"I should have started a new life away from the painful memories. If this hadn't happened, I should have taken the water of forgetfulness. But now, I came back alive with the memories of the past," Gu Jiu Si said with a pained expression on his face.

He anxiously surveyed his surroundings, desperately hoping to recognize even a single familiar face. But all he saw were strangers wearing strange clothing bustling around a city that defied his comprehension.

Just as he began to resign himself to this astonishing turn of events, a searing pain shot through his temples, causing him to crumple to the ground in agony. A torrent of memories, not his own, cascaded into his consciousness, their vividness and depth almost unbearable. The realization struck him like a bolt of lightning – this world was not the one he had known but an advanced civilization beyond his imagination.

A shiver ran down his spine as he stood up, hesitant yet driven to explore his new reality. The remnants of the past predecessor's life whispered in the recesses of his mind, reminding him of his current situation as an orphan living in meager surroundings. With a heavy heart, he knew that the life he had once known was now but a distant memory, permanently left behind in an unfathomable past.

However, amidst his despair, Gu Jiu Si's attention was abruptly captured by a mysterious status bar that hovered before his eyes, defying explanation or reason. It glowed with an otherworldly aura, its vivid colors and intricate symbols etching themselves into his retinas. Like an ethereal presence, it seemed to beckon him, compelling him to unravel its cryptic message and discover the truth behind his unasked-for transmigration.

Intrigue blended with apprehension within his heart as Gu Jiu Si tentatively reached out to touch the enigmatic status bar, his finger trembling with a mixture of trepidation and excitement.

Name: Gu Jiu Si (Gu Jiu Si)

Level: 0

Experience: 0/100

Age: 19

Occupation: (Not yet awakened)

Status: Seems to be heartbroken and betrayed; overwhelmed by grief and pain, seeking justice and rebuilding shattered trust.

Strength: 5

Agility: 6

Defense: 3

"So, this thing records all my strengths and statuses?" Gu Jiu Si said in amazement.

His eyes stopped at the word "occupation" on the status bar and he said, "Occupation? I don't have an occupation at the moment. Does this thing want me to find work? But it says that it's not yet awakened." Gu Jiu Si couldn't help but wonder.

However, something magical happened. The status bar's occupation status changed. The "not yet awakened" status changed into "Unidentified status/Warrior".

Seeing the change, Gu Jiu Si couldn't help but laugh. He finally understood that the occupation status in the status bar was definitely referring to his expertise or class.

Still ignorant about the full capabilities of the status bar, Gu Jiu Si thought that this magical device could hear him and understand his thoughts. He wanted to change his occupation to "cultivator."

"No, no. Cultivator. I said cultivator. Can't you hear me? It's a noble occupation!" Gu Jiu Si exclaimed, hoping for a response from the status bar.

However, the status bar remained unresponsive. Gu Jiu Si tried everything—touching it, writing on it—but nothing seemed to have any effect. Frustrated, he gave up and sighed.

"Tsk. This thing… I thought it could understand me, but I guess not," Gu Jiu Si muttered as he ruffled his hair in frustration. However, as he touched his hair again, he instantly shouted in shock, "My hair! Where's my hair? Why is it short?"

Unbeknownst to him, many people had started to notice his peculiar behavior and were now looking at him with confusion and amusement.

"That teenager must have gone insane."

"It seems like it must be. He's throwing a tantrum because his hair is short."

"Isn't it normal for males to have short hair anyway?"

"Oh, look! He's throwing another tantrum!"

Gu Jiu Si, lost in his own world, was oblivious to the attention he was attracted to. He tried to cross the pedestrian line with his hands behind his back when a large truck came barreling towards him, honking its horn loudly. It was just inches away from running him over.

"What the heck are you doing? Are you trying to get yourself killed? Get out of the way!" the truck driver shouted angrily.

"What the heck are you shouting for? A person is trying to cross! Thankfully you stopped or I would have evaporated you into nothingness!" Gu Jiu Si retorted, unfazed by the near-death experience.

The truck driver shook his head in disbelief and drove away, leaving Gu Jiu Si standing in the middle of the pedestrian lane.

Gu Jiu Si, a cultivator from a far less technologically advanced civilization, found himself wandering through the bustling streets of this new and unfamiliar place. As he strolled along, his eyes widened with awe and amazement at the towering structures that reached towards the sky. These colossal buildings, made of materials he had never seen before, stood as a testament to the advancements of this world.

As he continued walking, Gu Jiu Si noticed an astonishing sight: carriages made entirely of metal and horses crafted with two wheels, moving swiftly and smoothly along the streets. He was astounded by the speed and efficiency with which these contraptions transported people from one place to another.

Caught up in the grandeur of his surroundings, Gu Jiu Si's attention was captured by a massive screen mounted at the top of one of the buildings. The screen projected vivid images of a fearsome battle underway. Curiosity piqued, he saw a crowd of people gathered, their faces filled with excitement and anticipation.

The scene depicted mages conjuring mesmerizing spells, warriors brandishing their formidable weapons, sword masters exhibiting unmatched skill as they danced gracefully amidst the chaos of battle, their blades slicing through the air with deadly accuracy, and healers mending wounds with their magical abilities. Together, they stood united against a colossal and menacing monster emerging from a mysterious portal.

Gu Jiu Si stood there, completely enthralled by the spectacle unfolding before him. In his world, magic did not exist; instead, the energy they called mana was known as qi in his world.

"Such a diverse naming sense. But the concept of using them is almost the same, yet also different," Gu Jiu Si mused, contemplating the similarities and differences between the two worlds.

With a sigh, Gu Jiu Si decided it was time to return home and sort things out. He needed to come to terms with his new reality and find a way to navigate this advanced civilization. Just as he turned to walk away, a delightful aroma wafted towards him. His gaze fell upon a large round patty made of an unknown meat, sandwiched between two soft and slightly toasted buns.

"Mcdo?" Gu Jiu Si said aloud, reading the letters on the top of the building.

Curiosity got the better of him once again, he entered the establishment and ordered one of these intriguing creations called a "burger." As he took his first bite, flavors exploded in his mouth—a combination of savory meat, tangy sauces, and crunchy vegetables. It was unlike anything he had ever tasted before.

Second bite.

Third.

Fourth...

Gu Jiu Si couldn't help but marvel at the culinary innovations of this world. The simple act of eating a burger opened his eyes to the vast possibilities that-

"Ahhh?" A hand reached out in front of him.

Gu Jiu Si looked who it was only to find a handful of bill.
